Unpopular opinions about SpongeBob

SpongeBob Battle For Bikini Bottom is not the best SpongeBob game. I would definitely rank The Movie Game and Truth or Square above it.

Another unpopular opinion, Revenge of The Flying Dutchman was a really good game and its flaws work in its favor. I absolutely love the haunting feel of Big Sky's underdeveloped titles as they somehow turn their Nick IPs into Silent Hill. No game has replicated the unique WTF I get while playing their titles.

Of all of the pre-first movie episodes I can easily remember, I'm with stupid was easily the worst.
It always left me cringing when I was a kid.

Spongebob was retarded even when i was a kid. The only kids i knew that liked that shit were add riddled autists.
In my high school it was so popular that it was the only kids cartoon you could reference and everybody, nerd or jock, would laugh and join in. Was pretty cool, kind of view it as being like the Looney Tunes of our generation.

I was in high school when it first came out and the only people who even knew about it to begin with were people who's little brothers or sisters watched it. Then the speds and autists started going nuts for it. Then I got too old to give a shit about whatever the grade 8 or 9 faggots were paying attention to. Then I grew up and stopped giving any shits at all about retarded children's cartoons about an annoying sponge.

Well yeah, if you were teenager when a little kid's show came out there wouldn't be any good memories of it. I was a little kid when it was on the air, so my classmates were too. But it was kind of different from other kids stuff, because if you were in high school and talking about Power Rangers or whatever other kid shit everybody would think it's weird, but not Spongebob.

I will admit, I think Spongebob was kino but it's not something that really feels fun to rewatch as an adult. And somebody who didn't grow up on it wouldn't like it. That's one way where it's not like Looney Tunes (that I compared it to)

No, I mean I had younger siblings and didn't mind some of the cartoons they watched. Spongebob was just especially annoying and retarded though. I mean, not a cartoon, but my brother still watched fucking Barney at that point and that was more tolerable than spongebob.

You should, it was like a spiritual successor to R&S with a lot of adult jokes and risqué humour aimed at older audiences whilst still being silly and cartoony enough for kids. It was hugely influential to the boom of creative 90s cartoons and shows like spongebob and a lot of CN shows wouldn’t exist without it.
Stepehn Hillenburg worked on Rocko before creating Spongebob. As did Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, who went on to create Phineas and Ferb. Povenmire also worked on some early Family Guy episodes.

Don't forget that Tim Hill also worked on both Rocko and SpongeBob, and has done movies like Muppets from Space, Max Keeble, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Garfield 2.

Plankton's Japanese dub voice is atrocious
I remember reading on TV Tropes that Patrick and Plankton were voiced by women in the Japanese dub, and I had a hard time believing it until I found a clip online. Even then, I couldn't help but ask myself, "Why the fuck do Patrick and Plankton sound like little boys? Who came up with that shit!?"

Plankton's voice seems like something that was funny for the first 15 minutes
