Chris kept hovering way too close and invading Catie's personal space. When asked to back off, he would do so for two minutes, then go right back to being way too close. It's like he couldn't control himself. He even stuck his face into Catie's tits when saying goodbye. I personally just think that he's autistic and clueless, but who knows, maybe he's just a asshole who doesn't respect women or anyone's personal space.
 
I do wonder what would have happened if Catherine had challenged Chris to see the situation from her perspective, instead of having her see it from his (which is what Chris wants). I know this is something Chris has difficulty doing, and may even be literally incapable of doing, but watching his efforts would be enlightening.

He would have twisted it around to make her out to be heartless for daring to think of her feelings.

Her perspective means nothing to Chris.

I've always found Chris to be somewhat disturbing when it comes to women. The one video where he talked about women to "prove" that he was straight would have made me feel extremely uncomfortable if I was a woman, and what's not to say that the way he talks about women isn't akin to the way he acts around them? When Megan still tolerated him, he continuously invaded her personal space, and it's evident that nothing has changed over time. Chris is just a sick fuck, not just on this subject but in plenty of other ones too.

It'd be one thing if he just had trouble doing so. But Chris believes he shouldn't have to empathize just because he has autism.

So you're saying that Chris not only falsely believes he's empathetic, he's perfectly justifiable in not exercising this quality that he has that's so desirable.

That's almost a malicious level of laziness and inconsideration.
 
i do volunteer counseling, and some people who talk to me are in abusive relationships. often, when the abused tries to break contact with the abuser, the abuser does a thing called "hoovering" where they do everything in their power to draw their victim back in - they know they don't have anyone else, or they want to have total power over this specific person. often that involves guilt trips, trying to trap them, or just flat-out verbal abuse until their victim comes back. i am certain barb does this with chris

i think one of the best things about him (for a given value of best) is that when he tries to hoover a real girl like megan or the wallflower, it never works. you can see in his interactions with girls that he tries all these trump cards, but he has nothing to offer, so his trump cards are "but i'm lonely" and "but i deserve a girlfriend" and "but i need to have a daughter", which works on 0% of women. on the other side of the coin, one of the worst things about him is that he tries to hoover, he tries to guilt and manipulate girls into doing what he wants. in these messages i can see a bunch of nasty tendencies typical of the kind of people who abuse my clients. he'd be much, much creepier if his efforts and motives weren't so transparent

You know, maybe he just can't resist. He is mentally a 6 year old and he's been deprived of close human contact for pretty much his whole "adult" life, so when the opportunity is there he just has to grab and touch.

Plus Fatty has never really had good impulse control too start with.
 
It's important to remember that Chris believes the friend zone is an "obstacle" to overcome. When a woman tells him "no" he believe some evil, unseen force has corrupted her and it is his heroic duty to make her see the error of her ways.

Well, either way, it's nice to know that some things never change. So, did Fatty continue crowding Catie on their second date? (We have so few examples, since the only second date I'm aware of was with Kacey and there's very little documentation on that.) Also, just out of morbid curiosity, how did he bowl? Given those noodly arms of his, I'd guess somewhere around 50 - 60.
