I foolishly opted to go out last night and spend some time in meatspace with actual humans and I ended up missing the hilarity of that fucking idiot Justice Ketanjiquon Jackson staying the food stamps order in the Rhode Island case and sharing the lols with you guys, sigh. But at least I can update you on the insane RIFs case in California (the reductions in force/firings of government workers during the shutdown, being fought tooth and nail by the fucking unions).

RIFs case has a fresh filing, from the defendants (the Trump admin)! They are respectfully (and utterly pointlessly) asking the judge to deny the request for an urgent new hearing. Pointless because of course the judge is going to grant the request. But we all must do what we must do. For example, west coast shitheads must pretend not to understand time zones.




Remember, this shit is eating up copious amounts of time and money while the government remains shut down. The unions obviously have overflowing coffers (filled by the dues paid by government employee salaries, ah ha ha ha) while troops don't get paid, WIC doesn't get funded, half the states in the country are suing America to make the admin take money out of children's school lunch funds to pay for SNAP benefits, air traffic controllers are dropping like flies (metaphorically), but God forbid the government detaches a few thousand useless barnacles that have been getting paid with our tax dollars to sit around and make fag rainbow stickers and diversity unicorns for the National Park Service or whatever.

Last night the plaintiffs (the unions) filed a short supplementary update:


Confessing that they're talking with the defense (the Trump admin) and will update further as needed by Monday. (Not apologizing for their bullshit nonsense of contacting defense after business hours in a different time zone and flipping out the court about it, though.)

The Clinton-appointed elderly lady judge who is doing the bidding of the unions without question -- seriously click through my previous posts, she literally just accepts everything the union lawyer says in filings and hearings and orders it -- received this update, but unwilling to have her fun spoiled, issued an order anyway:



It is to be expected that the unions will continue to accuse the various government agencies of perfidy and mendacity and lying and hiding shit and being meanies as they have been this whole time. The judge already is clearly of a mind to believe whatever accusations they put forth. Currently we have a Zoom hearing scheduled for this coming Friday, but I'm predicting it will be pushed up to earlier in the week by some sort of bullshit emergency motion by the unions.

For reasons that are unclear to me, the government does not appear to have filed any appeal in this case to a higher court for a stay of the lunatic judge's TRO or preliminary injunction.

The attempts to portray Israeli and American interests as one and the same are obvious, but “fighting an enemy that the rest of the world refuses to fight?” The rest of the world is literally not allowed to fight them. The rest of the world will not allow anyone to actually fight Muslims. The US spent decades in the sandbox fighting with both arms tied behind its back (e.g. if you see children in a building with terrorists you can’t destroy it.)
