True, but a lot of those right to work laws are backlash to unfettered union support for Democrats. They start switching sides while getting a shit ton of new members and all of a sudden that whole Right to Work thing might slowly start to be dialed back (with little fanfare). If these tariffs actually manage to bring the auto industry back to the US it'll be hard to ignore the kind of numbers the old unions will be showing.

Might just be wishful thinking on my part, of all the Democrat voting groups I've liked union people the most. At the end of the day they want to own a home, work a job that isn't shit and decentralize power in their respective industries. It's an honest and reasonable thing to want. Obviously union organizations are very far from perfect and get corrupt as all get out in their leadership but it's hard to argue against their core ideals. If there's a chance that this common ground is recognized and brings them together with people who really want to see America succeed outside of foreign influence than I think it's at least worth it to risk a little optimism. Optimism has been working out pretty well for me lately anyway.
I'm a Southern union member and most union members are for the most part socially conservative. The sole reason a lot of them vote Democrat is for that union support. They have the impression that Republicans want to bust unions or destroy unions. If the Republican party would swallow its pride and dial back its anti-union sentiment, maybe potentially endorse some pro-union policies, it would absorb a sizeable chunk of the Democrats voterbase, further pushing them down. It only takes one small step to absorb an entire group of voters.

Speaking of which, I've noticed since Trump got back in office there are more union jobs, especially in locals that are normally dead and have no work. I wonder why that is...

For things like clothing, that's going to be an almost instant transition, you could be up and running this very year
High-volume clothing production? To replace Asia? Not a chance. There aren't tens of thousands of skilled seamstresses sitting at home right now waiting for that call. Modern production would be automated anyway (no seamstresses) but that equipment isn't made in the US either and have long lead-times to import (plus new tariffs imposed).

Anyone who blames anything on boomers, or uses the word boomer in any context, is a fat, ugly, loner with no friends or life or concept of time or basic intelligence to do anything but mash keys and reee.
Kill yourselves, you useless, dumb fucks.

I'm not a 'boomer'. Fucking faggot word used by faggots.
"'i'm not owned! im not owned!!', i continue to insist as i slowly shrink and transform into a corn cob"

edit:
Page Quad 3. cool beans.

I'm not sure about a 3rd term, but making him eligible for it would make Vance/Trump possible, which would cause the maximum amount of butthurt possible outside of Trump/Vance 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Game prices have not matched inflation for a while. An adjustment was always coming, I just don't think anyone expected fucking NINTENDO to do it.
Honestly I blame Sony for getting the ball rolling on the price increase, just shocked it was Nintendo to be the first to go right to $80 lol. But let’s be honest most gamer slop enjoyers have been paying more than $70 or $80 for games for a long time. Sadly there’s a reason why companies keep ripping pieces out of games and slipping them in as “Deluxe Edition Exclusive missions or costumes!” Or the extra $20 for a digital art book.

You know what a 32% tariff on Indonesia says? It says "I don't give a fuck. I will train grandma to sew. She can be 20% slower and I can still pocket 10% arbitrage."

Art of the Deal already? I really wonder how long these other places will cut off their noses to hurt Orange Man Bad instead of being smart and working with him?

China tariff live updates: Trump says Vietnam is negotiating a deal, Nike shares rise

ETA that cnbc site is all over the place, archived nonpaywall bloomberg
Vietnam has asked the Trump administration to put on hold its planned 46% tariff on imported Vietnamese products for up to three months to enable further negotiations to take place.
Eric Trump said the first [country] to negotiate will win and the last will absolutely lose.

Time to make a betting pool of which one will be the last.

People blame Sony, but in reality TakeTwo was the first to increase prices the last time, followed by EA.

I hope the economy crashes and burns, anyone who deserved their success will find a way to be successful in whatever comes after anyway, it's only an apocalypse for people that benefited from the rotten status quo
Be careful what you wish for. People don't generally go off to starve to death quietly. There will be unrest.

Historically Nintendo has done $70/$80 dollar games in the mid 90s due to chip storages / additional chip requirements on carts so adjusting price to meet current dev cost is not new for them. It all depends if that additional price is something the gaming market can bear.

you really dont get it, I'm essentially saying that the modern "service-entertainment-stockmarket-etc" economy is fake and gay. Work is supposed to suck to beat the pussy ass bitch out of people, so all this desk-jockey, Bing Bing wahoo, shareholder meeting, focus group bullshit is bad for you. GDP is fake jew nonsense.
also at least around me factory jobs are actually nicer than service jobs with set schedules and time off and youre not on call constantly and less micromanging and more benefits at higher pay and more room for promotion and pathways to less manual labor. were not in the days where little cockney orphans died trying to stomp the deer into the meat grinder chimney stacks for a shilling a week or whatever

My breakfast of radiator cooked street rocks and dead rat was very delicious, thank you Donald for lending me nothing so I can be so happy!
kinda odd youd choose to do that with egg and other food prices down but good on ya i guess

The trades are where it's at. There won't be any plumbers starving to death. BossmanJack is going to get the last laugh with his HVAC certificate.
