Dumb people are not people to these "people." They don't deal with the Homer Simpsons of the world. They deal with other Silicone Valley tech workers and baristas. Preferably baristas owned by said Silicone Valley tech companies. Other people don't exist.

To the 0.0001% of college or highschool kids who have the option between some business degree and an internship at OpenAI, that isn't bad advice. To everyone else, they're not people, so why bother.

Connor ("Pinesap") certainly seems rather passionate about his beliefs but at the same time he gave Mehdi Hasan (the "Progressive") exactly the response he wanted which was kind of dumb.

Hasan himself is a "liberal" Muslim who in the past has defended Islam as a religion of peace, once made the statement "Make American Planes Crash Again" on his X account and likes whining about Islamophobia.

He also has compared non-Muslims to animals and homosexuals to pedophiles and sexual deviants but apologized for those remarks in 2019:

Hasan might want to take the desert cactus out of his poopshoot, and stick to dwelling on the American pavement jungles of the sort where his brethren resides. It’s not as if there were any shortage of mosques in those locales. Yet here they are blocking the street in Philadelphia:

As par for the course with Fifth World colonizers, that is not worship; it is a show of force:

They aren’t praying. They are preying on the weakness imposed by neoliberalism.

Because Trump became president, Josh thought it was awkward having a lolcow thread on a sitting president. Guess not now lol.
Why was it closed did someone fedpost?
No, because the Regulars there got mad over people doing the same thing that they do.
...Going to the thread to fuck with them.

So they spam-reported and got the thread locked, with the main one being Hulk.

Remember?
It was right after the election.

Do you even know how "AI" works?
I do, and I agree with doomer guy.

The total shittiness (for purpose) of language-based "AI" makes it far more dystopian than if it worked as advertised (or as imagined). The cyber-soy managerial horror state, already partly implemented, is the people being judged and constrained, in all things large and small, by systematically rigged and constantly failing chatbots treated as infallible oracles or seers into your soul.

Some of the people making this happen are "above it," I assume, cynical and smart enough to know what's really being done, and enjoying it sadistically. If not, the masterminds of our downfall are just drug-addled sub-midwits like Elon and Thiel, hatching apocalyptic plots against humanity because of terminological confusion.

Pray for evil. It's our only hope.

It’s funny, because these guys can be easily disproven based on how most AI reacts to art prompts. AI art has made some improvements since 2020, but you’ll still see AI making mistakes a human wouldn’t.
You can prompt around those mistakes. You can use Loras to avoid them all together and in printing to touch them up. AI image generation is a tool. And like any tool it depends on user skill.

You're arguing in bad faith. What I said was very clear. Kneecapped for you. Pre-crime capability for them, which they openly talk about with Palantir and the associated DoD companies.

Don't believe me. It's why I fully support what they're going to do to people like you. You truly deserve the Orwellian nightmare you cheer for in your ignorance. It's going to be fun to watch.
All people need to understand the problem is Manna by Marshal Brain. What he describes in the American technocratic hellscape's start -- LLMs deciding how fast people should work and networking to fire anyone who doesn't work that hard, converting every job to a gig economy you can't escape from, etc etc -- could be done today. They just don't have the infrastructure in place yet. And that's a big yet. Going a bit further in it, to where they put people in gulags as they need less and less people compared to AI ran robots doing everything for the rich to maintain their standards, is probably a further stretch, but again, it's not THAT far out. And it was written 22 years ago.

He goes all techcommie by the end but not without reason I guess. Post-Scarcity is a hell of a drug.
