I like this one cause he has a more realistic greek statue physique instead of the super big roidmoids that have been posted so far. Before I finish this in vector format with engraving lines, I have two questions @Null.
1. Do you still need an illustration for the charity? It looks like you have a lot of other submissions if you haven't just hired someone to do it.
2. If you still need a sisyphus illustration, would something like this look good? (granted I haven't finished the hand/feet/boulder or added engraving lines yet though that will be easy)

This looks pretty good but his arm should be fully extended and reaching underneath the boulder, it doesn't look like he's struggling to lift it up the mountain, it looks like he's resting against it. His hand isn't even fully pressed against it either. He should be leaning forward with the boulder resting on him and not him resting on the boulder. He should look like a chair that's being folded by the rock he's heaving up the mountain.Took me far more than expected. December is a fucking bitch.
These are the overall ideas; I was looking for a way to add the PSD layered file
or a .rar but it seems I can't and I don't know how to attach it, so I'll email it to Fear Dealer.
I hope this somehow contributes to the initiative.-

This is the closest, though I feel the rock is too detailed. I'm going to copy these posts to their own thread.another attempt
i managed to reduce the size of legs just a bit
Ill work on the rock thenThis is the closest, though I feel the rock is too detailed.
Well no, there's a lot of space between what you posted and the current latest version of the USIPS logo. A logo doesn't need to be soulless and boring, but you still want it to be legible when it's shrinked and placed in various places on the website, or when you want to print it on merch or a document, etc. That's the same mentality behind the Minnesota flag. "ohhh noo details are too hard it should be flat and simple and recognizable!" and then it'll inevitably become something as unmemorable as this.

These are all too detailed for a logo.
Null has mentioned that he absolutely wants the more classical engraved look, and we've talked a lot about the proper technique. I recommend something like this era of the Prudential logo. Easier than banknote engraving but still quite nice. It has several different techniques in one. Our Boulder King is simultaneously the rock of Gibraltar AND pushing a rock of Gibraltar, anyway. (It also translates well to later coin dies)That's the same mentality behind the Minnesota flag. "ohhh noo details are too hard it should be flat and simple and recognizable!"
Really like it! What do you think of indicating the ground beneath the feet?another attempt

This. It needs to be able to be printed at the top right of official mailers that are printed on a basic bitch black and white printer from Wal Mart. These are all too detailed for a logo. I recommend decluttering and simplifying the lines.
I removed the ground for now since we had disagreement with the legsReally like it! What do you think of indicating the ground beneath the feet?
We can work backwards if need beThis. It needs to be able to be printed at the top right of official mailers that are printed on a basic bitch black and white printer from Wal Mart.
For that just use a silhouette of the logo without any of the details, just solid black.This. It needs to be able to be printed at the top right of official mailers that are printed on a basic bitch black and white printer from Wal Mart.
I just really quickly added that. I can't draw like you, but I think it's more well rounded and it expresses the struggle some more. I have also slightly extended the mountain, making it look steeper and hinting at what is to come.I removed the ground for now since we had disagreement with the legs
This is one of those things where it can be a "why not both" situation. You can have a more stylized version of the symbol, and then a more basic version. The stylized version going on posters, TV ads and wat not, while the more basic version goes on mass mailers, official letterhead and other such things. We can work backwards if need be
I can remove all the engraving and hatching
Or just make another simplified version that will resemble the full one
