I'll be trapped in a winter hellscape soon so I'll have time to make something for Null to look at and help us understand which engraving style he wants (unless he can find an example he 100% likes and tell us to follow).
I'm not artsy enough to contribute to the logo but I wanna say that I would absolutely love a silver (or maybe even gold, but it would probably have to less than an oz) round with this logo. Especially if it could fund the USIPS's efforts with the profit. My biggest regret on this site is missing the CWC coin drop.
I'm kind of waiting for one that's extremely close to what I have in my head, then ask for it to be traced into a clean vector for touch ups. Nothing is perfect yet.
For the sake of perfection I mocked up 9 pieces messing with boulder sizes and the angle of the man. This uses DNM's version but the results could be applied to OO's as well.
Basically I am trying to clarify the ideal size/position of the boulder and just how "bent over" the man should be. A gif for eyeballing and a webm below for scrubbing.
Are either of these hybrids better than either of the others individually? I picked what I think are the best bits of both (Sometimes mirroring makes humans see things differently so I've included the same two but mirrored below)
I recommend to try and make the hatching bigger/thicker. Even with how thick I went it looked softer and thiner when the image was smaller. Additionally I would recommend keeping it to to just hatching not cross hatching. That should help improve clarity as well.

ive been tire spinning again and tried a bunch of different things whole evening
its just all doesnt look quite right

A note to any person in here looking to make their own version of the submissions here:
I asked a person who is very familiar with adult male body ratios and this is the physical ratios he suggested. The linework is currently kinda fucked since this is my hybridizing of two people's work that I haven't redrawn yet but he assured me that limb lengths, ratios, vague muscle outlines, and positions in this image are "correct" for a man trying to hold a boulder back from falling off a cliff.
i really have to agree with a previous poster earlier in the thread: less detail on the rock is better. Lowkey, with all the folds it kind of looks like a big turd.... like a dung beetle.
