I don't know how I blasted your ass in the past

I can actaully answer this one.
Asset sketches for consentaccident.com
You may recall terminating this assignment a week or so without any warning - after a fair bit of refinement was done, might I add - which is really not how art-related business is conducted. As in, you make sure the domain is good to go -before- making (or asking someone to make) assets for it.

Your analogy sucks because...
see clarification above.
This isn't to say you're doing the very EXACT same thing,

1) when you make foss you are explicitly permitting people to do exactly what you're describing
Yeah I'm pretty sure copyLEFT licenses prohibit that. Don't tell me you're releasing your stuff under Apache or MIT?
Nothing is lost
...If you don't count potential interest of others in doing business with you professionally, sure enough. Rude wanker.

@Null, have you and your team thought of anything you'd like to hide in the boulders shading yet?
I think it would be a huge missed opportunity.

??? These aren't even paid requests. I ended up going with someone who stuck strictly to my requests with no embellishments and also did the entire set so they looked consistent.

This is the really awesome thing about running a website. I'm not a fucking art director handing art requests all day. I'm trying to do a thousand things at once and just need shit that works. I deal with hundreds of people a day every day year after year. If I'm personally trying to slight you you'll know because I'll let you know. People still get silently offended, hold it against you for a FULL YEAR, then start throwing shit at you at complete random.

Imagine how difficult it is to run shit with every single project or request, no matter how small or no matter how important, is met with people like you deliberately trying to obstruct the process or make people feel bad for trying to help, because a year ago I didn't do what they wanted or violated some industry standard you're holding me to, despite ZERO association with this industry, for 100% volunteered unpaid work.

I'm not building a gold throne with this, I'm just trying to get shit running

Shame on you dude, stop fucking pouting

That's very good. I think the crosshatching is a bit too aggressive though. I really like how the engraving lines are done in the old American Express centurion logo.

How about something like this? I'm holding off on the boulder till I know if Sisyphus looks fine.

... Whoops, guess I should have read all the updates before working on this. I hope DefinitelyNotMe and I (and other kiwis) were able make some useful drafts :).

:story: YHWH be my witness, can't fucking win with this goy.

industry standard
The newfangled industry standard of *checks notes* ...common courtesy?

Yeah, okay. Tell you what, maybe that's my bad for getting uppity on behalf of others for them getting hit with a "that'll do; yoink!" after something like two months of putting their backs into this shit. Literally.

Imagine how difficult it is to run shit... with people like you deliberately trying to obstruct the process
Glad I could help.

As letterhead the linework would never scale well from small to big, but...

As an art piece I really like it. Your style has a kind of rough and animalstic motion feeling, like he's a warrior fighting lions not just pushing a boulder.

getting uppity on behalf of others

No, I know your personality flaw. You feel slighted personally but are too scared to share your feelings in a mature, adult way. Not man enough to tell Null directly because it would embarrass you and you know that. "You didn't PICK ME, I hate you, teacher! I should have won the ribbon!" is truer to your heart but you had to roll in here and try and personal-army willfull volunteers who were NEVER offered or promised ANYTHING and make us feel sore over YOUR sadness so we would be able to tell Null what you wanted to tell him. "I HATE you, daddy!"

Fuck you, people like you are bitter poison who kill communities. Go drink more liquor and die.

well i cant talk for others but i had no delusions over it being volunteer work or not
im not a professional artist by any mean
drawing is just my hobby and all i wanted to do is to help, since my skills are might've been useful in this situation
so i don't think theres a reason to dwell on it too much
all we have to do is now wait from the whoever Null got hired and if that will not gonna work out then we can talk further

- do you not understand? Do I need to spell it out for you? Does it take a genius to grasp that I'd be elated to help out with my lettering autism IF our collective "daddy" (lol) had simply said
Sorry, the way you're going about this assignment isn't doing it for me.
instead of
Yeah I've got another guy to do the work instead.

Common courtesy, motherfucker, do-you-speak-it?

No, I know your personality flaw.
Yeah, the fucking personality flaw of disliking being treated like a tool. Choke on it, Freud.
You know what? @Null my apologies. Kind of a shitty start of the year.

good job, i really like how you have got the arm and legs down, it all feels in proportion. Hopefully Null can get the result he's after for the finished logo.

Yeah, no fucking shit, retard. Did you have the mind to ask the people who toiled to make them for you before passing them on to someone else to polish? If not, where's the clause that anything user-submitted to X thread is sole property of JOSHUA CONNER MOON to do whatever the hell he damn well pleases?

No offense.

Why isn't he black?

I didn't really like it conceptually.
Although it does make me want to make another with multiple people pushing, because at the end of the day it does benefit everyone. My fear is making the image "too busy."

It benefits everyone but only a tiny percent of the population is interested in fighting for it while loads of people seem interested in fighting against it. Maybe you could draw some people on the opposite side of the boulder trying to push it downhill.

I like the vibes and colors. The only major thing I see is the arm of the woman pushing the boulder. I can barely see the purple of her face and her arm, so at first glance I didn't know what I was looking at. Maybe there's a way to get the lady a bit further so she's more distinguishable from the dude pushing up. If it's just me hallucinating or seeing things that are not there, ignore this post, it still looks great.

heres a scan, a png and an svg
it lost some detail in the process but its barely noticeable
if needs be i can touch up on those
Just read the whole thread / this is looking great. Great concept, love the deco stylizing it seems to be moving toward. I also like pushing with his back - 99% of sisyphus are pushing forward.

Couple questions/thoughts on some points that have been brought up (spoilered images for easier scrolling).

What about moving the image to the right, so person is centered and we don't see the full boulder?

Boulder - agree with the comment it looks a bit soft-lumpy & very detailed still - I wonder if more planes and fewer bumps might be good - like maybe:

1737236920036.jpeg
Or simpler, like:
1737236001169.jpeg

? Or more stylized?

1737236319497.jpeg
1737236050552.jpeg

And on proportions, calves still seem a little big still, even with intentional distortion ...maybe not, just throwing in a body for reference. Huge calves seem more Atlas than Sisyphus and would fit more the beefy Rockefeller Plaza Atlas-style upperbody.

1737235782880.jpeg

Foot positioning? This guy (below) is not as crouched down, so the left foot is still a little too straight, but I think something between the parallel and near-perpendicular lines might avoid either broken-foot, or too-long foot.

No comment meant as critical to idea or execution.

Ps - lines/shading like this? Or too fine? The lines had that deco look up close, but pulled back maybe not bold enough.
