The kilt didn't get declared a dress uniform untill 1915 and some of the Scottish Highland regiments were still wearing them as late as 1940.
Most Highland regiments still had them as late as the somme.

I see nothing of a lolcow material in kilt wearers.

Only Scottish people or true romans (not unwashed barbarians who stole the land and call themselves Italians)should be allowed to wear true and honest kilts.

I have a theory.
Almost correct: just combine all the circles into one giant, colorful one and you will get the true picture: Sword, kilt, ren faire, heavy metal lolcows.

I used to wear a kilt during My Little Pony LARPs at my local furrycon's gay day. Even they made fun of me for it.

Wait, some of the Ren Faire-istos above are actually wearing their kilts correctly. The guy in the féileadh-mhór (the grey one -- "great-kilt") admittedly is standing next to a chick in a leather dress, but I don't see anything wrong with the way he's wearing his plaid. The guy in the blue shirt and the older gent in the red and blue tartan also have theirs correctly right at the kneecap. Obviously the member of the 501st Legion is beyond help, but at least three of these gents are wearing theirs just fine as far as I can tell.

My dad's a Scottish immigrant and he would not be caught dead wearing the clan tartan im Canada or Scotland.
I sadly have toi much experience in day to day kilt wear. Went to a Scots heritage all girl's school that had them as part of the uniform even though they are meant to be male wear. My biggest issue with utility kilts is kinda spergy, but they aren't even kilts. Kilts are designed to wrap around and have a pin to hold the flaps together. If your kilt is a glorified pleated skirt, made of leather or has no pin then you're probably a cow to Scots.

I wear a kilt all the time. Hell, I got married in one. I have several: a black Utilikilt, two hand-sewn ones I made myself, and an old one I bought back in my SCA days.
I wear them because they're comfortable, and practical for what I do in life.
