ValiDate - an upcoming (and unsurprisingly racist) visual novel made by SJW's, for SJW's. Currently MIA.

That's like betting water is wet. Can't wait for the leaks from "disgruntled (former) team members" to start floating around. Because those always happen whenever a project like that ends up delayed.
"The leaders of the game abused me by constantly harassing me into doing crunch by saying things like; its been 4 weeks why haven't you drawn anything, or no you can't use your oc as official art, they aren't in the game"

I'm crying...this dude.. :story:

This isn't even a joke. I can 100% see any of them pulling this shit. They'll pull the 'X gaslight Y into drawing for the game when they have non-supportive homophobic, transphobic parents that don't accept who zir really is, a non-binary leaning trans-masc autistic lesbian who they keep pressuring to have decent grades in the college they're paying for.'

POC are also hugely overrepresented in non Indie games. I don't know if SJWs are aware but there is a major game company that is 99% POC. That company is called Nintendo.

Oh wait, slanty eyes don't count as POC.

Mario: short and fat but also charming and loved by everyone around the world.

Validate characters: fat and a fucking "nuisance" to my eyes.
Japanese people are too "white" these days.

...what? what's the joke? what obscure twitter gatekeep are the chiming into?

more importantly, who the fuck is making these?
The joke is supposed to be that this is what the character would say or think. Problem is, this doesn't work if everyone except Keaton and Malik has the exact same personality and it's easy to forget who is who.

These people are so embarrassing, in every single aspect. So it's been delayed to 2021 fall and then 2022 if I remember the last time I read this thread. How do you have to postpone a game like this for TWO YEARS?
While development dates get pushed back all the time even by competent studios, I'm betting that it's their decentralized, disorganized way of doing things. Anything over 3 writers is asking for trouble if you're not organized.

That reminds me: do you want to drop an artist because they're too slow? Can't, you'll lose one of the characters. Minus 1 diversity points, minus a bunch of writing you'll have to remove. This is why you keep a tight ship instead of a mess.

Whats gonna come out first? This trash heap or Alex's sandbox? (Yandere Sim)
Answer: yes

Serious answer is that this will come out or at least announce a cancelation, while Alex's yandere wankbox will continue to go nowhere. Alex dug himself a hole, said "oh shit let me dig myself out of here", and continues to lazily dig himself into China rather than up and out. His program is so fucked he'd have to start from the bottom and work his way up, and that ain't happening. ValiDate fortunately requires less programming and almost all of it's problems are writing and art related. The creators don't seem to ignore help, just people who don't like their OC wankfest. We're much more likely to see this published.

I think the more relevant question in ValiDate's case is: just how hard are they going to blame "bigots" for their game flopping harder than a beached whale having an epileptic seizure?

Because with all the information they've been releasing about the characters and all the memes they've been fostering across the "community" to try to remain relevant, by the time the game releases the "community" will have their own ideas of who the characters are and what they should do, and the developers won't be able to keep up with that. This "game" is heading the way of all overhyped games... even though it barely has any hype outside of a tiny community. It's the worst of both worlds.

Honestly, I think it depends on if drama is in the mix. If someone does a big callout post on other teammates, then that might overtake it instead.
