Valorant is another soulless game on the pile of arena shooters à la Overwatch.
Valorant actually has a good amount of similarities with Overwatch:
- cashing in on arena shooters
- forcing competitive
- trash artstyle
- bad maps
- questionable machanics
- uninteresting gameplay
- both made by chink owned companies
- both made by companies that have no prior experience in FPS games
- forced lore and characters made just to look 'cool'
- and many more
I don't know how anyone can enjoy this game besides being forced to, i.e. streamers who get that sweet CCP money by advertising with free keys for the game.
Speaking of streamers, the views on Twitch quickly plummeted after the key drop thing ended. Wonder why.
The thing with the anticheat doesn't really help it either. While they mention it can't get any of your data, it's still highly shady to have a kernel level anticheat running all the time, even when you aren't running the game itself. It's not even that much better than other anticheat programs.
Something that still baffles me is how
Moby Francke is the art director for Valorant. The guy that worked at Valve since 2002 and worked on titles like Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, CS:GO and more, yet the game manages to look like generic dogshit, both graphically and stylistically.
Just compare the characters and maps of TF2 and Valorant and it makes you question things.

It'll be cool for maybe 2-3 years and quietly die down like OW did.
If you want a good arena shooter just play something like Quake, TF2, Open Fortress, Unreal, CS, etc. or some other up-and-coming games.
This game isn't worth your time.
