Valve introduces Steam Deck

1. Windwaker HD letting you hotswap items.

2. Map scrolling always felt better to me to since most game companies can't get scrolling acceleration right.

3. This is more touch screen, but I preferred typing on the DS than the slog that was on 360
That was on the Wii U controller with a dedicated second screen, right? I mean I guess it makes sense on that specific hardware, but it also requires you to hold up a second monitor as the controller so it's more like making the best of a bad situation.

Map scrolling makes some sense, although I still find the DS4 touchpad to be way too awkward to reach without shuffling my hands on the controller.

Typing on a controller is always a meme, though I got dangerously good at it during the 360 live days.

3. Hotline Miami on consoles was honestly best controlled with the PS4's touchpad to aim, though it's one of the very few games out there that benefits from having a trackpad due to how it's an overhead shooter and you have to be very, very accurate at times.
Hotline Miami is not a game I'd play without a mouse and keyboard.

This is why the touchpads have the opportunity to be a game changer since they're now in a fantastic position.

Will Steam Deck be sold in retail stores?

Steam Deck is only available directly via Steam. We may be partnering with retailers as we make Steam Deck available in more regions - more information about that soon.

Will Steam Deck support external GPUs?

No, external GPUs are not supported on Steam Deck.

How will SteamOS and Steam Deck handle offline mode when it comes to launching games?

Just like a PC, you'll need to be online to download games and play online multiplayer games. Once a game is installed on disk, you can play while Steam Deck is offline unless the game requires an internet connection.

Can I change which model of Steam Deck after I've already reserved?

No, once you've reserved a Steam Deck, the only way to change your model is to cancel and reserve again (this would put you at the end of the queue for your region).
Ooooooo, this.....this does not look good. But I dunno, what do you guys think?

I'm a retarded nigger, then. Apologies. I guess we'll see once it comes out then.......
it's also not uncommon, retail kits with niche stuff hardly ever happens (why cut in a retailer when it's faster and you get a bigger cut selling it directly?); external gpu is a retarded question, and how else would the offline mode work, magically simulate a internet server for games that require it (consoles have the exact same problem and worse depending how you set it up you literally can't play anything because you need to verify your account, see secondary playstations for example)?

changing SKUs is debatable, whatever you do you'll piss someone off, not to mention possible shenanigans going with the base model with lower demand, how would you even let people cut the existing line?

You Steam Dick jerkers are among my favorite class of hopeless autists.

It's going to fail. Valve is hopeless as a brand, paralyzed from within and creatively bankrupt as a developer.
Let them do it, there's two outcomes

A) it fails so hard that Valve decides to go back to making games to redeem itself

B) it fails so hard that valve then returns to it's hovel and continues to just allow steam to exist while doing no more side projects.
