Valve introduces Steam Deck

I don't think PC specific consoles would work out. The advantage (and fault) of PC gaming is the unlimited customization and performance possibilities. The user could swap out hardware as they wish. They don't necessarily have to worry about their hardware being behind.

Pre built hardware will go obsolete quite quickly.

/v/ on 4chan still never changes.

Also, someone on the board seemed to capture the news regarding the Valve Deck with this cartoon:

Nintendo might not be worried, but the fanbase that had to play remastered versions of SM 64 and SMT V might be happen that there could be competition between the Switch and (maybe) the PS5.

>remastered versions of SM 64
>remastered

Nigga what?

Unless you're talking about the Nintendo DS version, higher resolution JPEGS does not a remastering make. SM64 on 3D All Stars is still the same primitive low-poly game it was back on the N64.

If Mario, and the entire world of 64 looked like any of the newer 3D games (3D Worlds, Odyssey, etc...) then I'd say it's a true remaster.

I meant to say “a port of SM64 made for the Switch”. My brain is still on lax mode.

Joke aside, why would Nintendo be worried? They have a patented market DOWN.

It's the usual consoomers on my list, lol.
Preordering hardware...

Before you know anything about actual reliability, availability or potential battery life. Preordering in general is dumb but this kind of thing is another level.

Processor
AMD APU
CPU: Zen 2 4c/8t, 2.4-3.5GHz (up to 448 GFlops FP32)
GPU: 8 RDNA 2 CUs, 1.0-1.6GHz (up to 1.6 TFlops FP32)
APU power: 4-15W
RAM
16 GB LPDDR5 RAM (5500 MT/s)
Storage
64 GB eMMC (PCIe Gen 2 x1)
256 GB NVMe SSD (PCIe Gen 3 x4)
512 GB high-speed NVMe SSD (PCIe Gen 3 x4)
All models include high-speed microSD card slot

Specs like it will get outdated super fast but may pick one up once they flop and Valve sells them off cheap like the steam machines and steam controllers.

Also worth noting that is only $50 more than the switch oled lol
my thoughts exactly.
I'll be the first to the local second - hand store when it fails miserably because their audience already all have $3000 pcs

It's just like what happened with the steam machines. Barely anybody actually wants a shittier version of a PC that they can barely customize and will become obsolete relatively quickly. It's not the same as a console because it really doesn't have exclusives, and there's no optimization specifically being made for the system. The only selling point is that it's mobile.

to be fair, you have to reserve an order beforehand due to availability or something i think. plus it guarantees you get one and not have to wait several months for something like a new graphics card

Even if you are retarded enough to want one of these you'd be extra stupid for pre-ordering one now. In a year's time either it'll flop and you can get one for cheap or they'll release a v2.0 that'll have better hardware and work out some of design flaws the first iteration has.

get a pair of Jeans from the 1990's, they both fit perfectly in a pair of JUNCOs
It's pronounced "JNCO"

And as someone who used to wear those in middle school/high school (and actually miss wearing them), you ain't fitting NOTHING in the front pocket, which is where one would prefer hiding/carrying portable stuff (e.g. the original 3DS fit PERFECTLY in the front pocket of regular jeans). Even with those big-ass back-pockets, I guarantee you that this Steam Dick will take up like 75% of real estate back there, meaning you ain't even sitting down normally unless you go full nigger and pull those pants down to where your boxers/undies are showing.

Your BEST bet, if you want to go carrybag-less is to get sweatpants that have multiple zipper compartments like this, but good luck not getting fucking annoyed at this thing banging into your leg everytime you take a step.

You can write a college paper criticizing Nintendo’s business over the past few years, but they’re laughing at this and anyone desperate enough to call it a Switch competitor.

Valve is even worse than Microsoft at selling fixed hardware platforms. Steam Deck is $399 for 800p resolution and no exclusives. Nintendo is already fulfilling the demand for portable gaming with cheaper hardware and adequate software support.

The Deck’s design doesn’t even look “legit” compared to consoles.

I saw someone bragging getting on the wait list for one of these. The first thing I thought is that they were over paying for something that is going to be obsolete and kinda useless since they never leave their room, kek.

*sony laughing in 100+ million sold playstation 4s*
