inb4 she starts taking snaps of IRL gore whilst in surgery and posting it on tumblr or something.
Posting social media pictures of patients or cadavers (even just organs) is essentially asking to be dropped from the program, as it violates patient confidentiality laws.

She said she's going "for pharmacy" so I'm assuming she's going to school to be a pharmaceutical technician or maybe a pharmacist, so at the very least we won't have to worry about her botching surgeries (provided she even passes).

I can only imagine the damage they're going to cause by doing something like selling prescription drugs illegally or something. It's not a problem in our area but in big travel areas, I hear it's a growing concern. Someone with fucked up logic like them may cause a lot of trouble down the road. What if they start abusing those drugs?

It’s super easy to be a pharmaceutical technician since it’s just 8-ish months of training compared to years of schooling
But the down side is that being a technician is VERY STRESSFUL and often times you work for CVS or Walmart unless you want to go another year of schooling.

Hang on a second... I overlooked this earlier since I thought this person lived outside the USA but looking at their location... they're American, right? Arizona?

American medical schools don't have a "pharmacy" section. Medical school is for doctor-doctors - surgeons, pathologists, internal med, etc. As far as I know you need to go to a separate pharm school to do anything related to that.

Plus, the way they said they "passed an exam" and got accepted doesn't really make sense. You have to take the MCAT to apply for medical school, and then you send in your grades and a resume to different schools to see if you can interview there. Afterwards you get invitations to some schools, you go to those schools and interview, and then later you see if you got accepted to any of them. You don't just pass a test and get in.

So is he really going to medical school? Or is he just saying he's going to medical school while actually going to some shitty little pharm school instead? I doubt you get to even get near cadavers in pharm school.

It's really more like 2-3 months of training to be a pharmacy tech. It 100% depends on the state. In NY, you don't need to be licensed with the state board of pharmacy to work as a pharmacy tech, you can just apply to the position as if it were any other retail position, and go through on the job training. Other states require you to be licensed, but it's still just a few OJTs and some extremely barebones studying. The exam to get certified as a tech is a joke. Anyone who pays for schooling for a tech position would literally get more out of their money by setting it on fire.

oh boy... okay i've not visited this site often but i registered an account just to comment on this thread.

i've been following VCR for... years now. hell, i even have art i drew of one of their characters lying around somewhere. i find their art legitimately cool a lot of the time, aesthetically (even the uglier stuff), and their creature/character designs genuinely inspire me (mainly with the depth to which they consider monster biology, and all the eldritch horror stuff). that said, i haven't for some time been a fan of their personality for reasons outlined in this thread.

now, i'm a fat degenerate myself, and i won't judge anyone for their kinks if they're not hurting anyone else, but i at least try not to be a raging hypocrite about it (and i try to make the characters that i design that appeal to my kinks more than just porn fodder most of the time). plus, as a trans man, i'm real fuckin' sick of every tumblr artist's depictions of trans dudes being basically the exact same thing. VCR is no exception. yeah, i (finally!) have big ol' mastectomy scars, but why would i want every FtM character i see to be showing off their (usually aesthetically 'pretty' and not at all as gross as the real thing) scars at every opportunity? why do none of the skinny twink trans guys get the alternate surgery that leaves much smaller scars? i know trans guys who get bottom surgery are in the minority but i don't think i've ever seen one of these artists depict post-bottom-surgery trans guys.

i think that this person probably does have some serious mental health issues (whether it's what they claim it to be or not, who knows). it's kinda sad, honestly. seems like they had a lot of potential at one point... i still admire their dedication to plausible anatomy for fantasy monsters, but the fact it's all surrounded by such ugliness... ugh. what a shame.

my apologies for the rant. it's a bit of a long time coming since i don't have many people to vent this stuff to. it's frustrating, especially since i actually had a friendship with an artist who seems cut from the same cloth that came to a screeching halt over petty bullshit that i can kinda see mirrored in VCR's behavior/beliefs.

Yeah that's.... one of my main major criticisms of ""trans visibility"" in art in general. Rarely any of the representations are actually REALISTIC, just, obviously, fetishistic. And like, sure, fine, whatever, I'm perfectly fine if you wanna jack it to fantasy depictions of trans people, people jack it to far worse shit, but for the love of christ can you just be honest with yourselves that's what you're doing? This isn't what I want to be ~*represented*~ by as a trans person. Everyone please stop trying to pass off your wank material as lgbt representation just so you can feel better about your kinks, you're making the entire community look more like a dumpster fire than it already is.

yep, absolutely. i see this a lot in art communities, and it seems to happen more with trans men than trans women (even though we're the minority of trans people). makes me happy to find other trans people who aren't like that, especially ones that don't feel a need to make all their characters trans (or gay, or anything but straight/cis/white).

See like, on one hand, I completely understand why someone of any demographic, minority or not, would want to have characters that they relate to. Especially true if you don't get much representation of that demographic elsewhere. Not something I have any problem with. Characters are fictional canvases to express many, many things on. The best of humanity, the worst of humanity, the primal desires of humanity, yes, even the furry bullshit. Not every character exists to deliver a message of some kind, they're often just masturbatory reflections of those whom make them.

But even then I still always feel.... i guess a bit of concern when I come across someone's gallery where character after character after character are just trans? If the artist is cis, I can just wave that off as a fetish. Creepy, but harmless as long as they're not passing it off as LGBT representation. But when they're trans, it just seems concerning. Because to me, that seems like... being trans has consumed a large territory of their mental space. Of their life. And probably of their personality, where being trans is one of the most interesting aspects about them.

This. This has long described VCR. I think, alongside it being a fetish, it consumes such a large swath of their every day mental capacity. They eat, breathe and shit being trans. It permeates every brain cell of their being. Because they don't... have much else going for them. When they started being trans is when people started paying attention.

You see this in conduct disorders in teenagers, for example. Kid is neglected. Kid starts breaking stuff, receives attention. Might not be the right attention, but it's attention. Kid breaks more stuff. Negative reinforcement loop, and you have a kid that is getting in trouble with authority, acting out constantly because they crave any sort of attention.

But if a kid can do something that isn't negative, that starts out innocent -- exploring their identity -- and then that thing suddenly becomes one of the most attention-getting things in the past decade? All over the news, one of the big politician topics for both sides in america? Something to wave a flag for? Something to feel pride for? Another attention reinforcement loop. You become obsessed with it, yeah, understandably so.

Then you add SJ politics in. The white knight shit. The constant dopamine hits from the micro perceived Defeated Evils in the world.... all while never having to leave your computer chair. Getting that sweet addictive adrenaline going from all this twitter fights with your fans cheering you on. Punch after punch. Making politics simpler by sorting morality in neat black and white boxes. Making up mantras to repeat in a neat span of 280 characters.

And that art fanbase is good too. Worshipping you. Idolizing you.

Yeah.

You get VCR.

y'know... i never thought about it like this, but you're absolutely right. this makes a lot of sense.

i'm not closeted about being trans, but i've always been the type to be quiet about it if it's not relevant to anything. i haven't even told anyone at my current job (besides the one other trans person on my project), so i guess that means i'm 'stealth.'

but i really don't want that to ever be the most interesting thing about me. people shouldn't care that i'm trans, they should care that i'm a person with my own personality and interests.

i've created a lot of my own characters, and only like... 5 out of the hundreds are trans. some have non-human genders (i.e. hermaphroditic species) and some have no gender, but the majority are cis men or women (although i will admit a high proportion are gay men). i don't want my escapism through creative pursuits to involve the thing i like least about myself (that i'm not a cis dude). being trans sucks!

it's so weird to me when people don't seem to want any real diversity in the characters they create. if all my characters shared traits it would get boring.

Why do all trannies on this website have to tell us they're trans.
Go seek your attention on r/truscum to prove you're the #realtransmen. Nobody cares here.
They give context to VCR Wolfe's issues while contrasting themselves from her.
After all, a big part of the CWCki involves separating Chris-chan from other people in the autism spectrum.

Much like in the field of taxonomy of species, one must compare against the traits others in order to fully understand the individual you're particularly studying.
Harbleglarb is definitely giving... far more information about themself than I ever would on this cesspit of a forum known for its crowned jewel stalkers, but on the other hand, with context of the thread's specimen in mind, it's helpful to keep a fresh palette to understand just how much VCR might contrast from the rest of their own demographic.
