Still mad we haven't gotten any Ace Combat 8 news after seeing the new Top Gun. 7 was a great return to form with a really solid soundtrack and great gameplay but I don't know if they expect people to replay the game over and over again with the DLC planes they've been churning out since it released.
 
Contract Wars is still playable and for some reason they added customization to most guns and even added two new guns, when I thought the game was dead. I don't know how to feel about that but I'm playing it again.

I just fucking hate the art style, it is ugly as sin. Mark of the Ninja was very good though and I recommended it to someone binging stealth games in another thread and it shot up into their top 3 or something, it's really good and people that like stealthy games should definitely play it. Its sales were not nearly as good as Don't Starve though.

They were given away for free a number of times. I know I ended up with Don't Starve & Together on Steam, and also Don't Starve on PS4. I didn't even like the game, yet here I am, flush with copies of it

Bandai Namco never trusted the market is for AC titles. To be honest, who could blame them.
AC7 was the first title to outsell AC04 after almost 20 years! And I don't expect that to change with the next title.
I bet AC7 only exist due to the low cost it took to rework Infinity into UE4 and sell it in between other major releases.

Expect the skins to never stop, you can see how bad they wanted to make money out of this series with Infinity. Although if you consider how many nostalgia skins are left to give out, they are pretty much done with the recent drop of the AC5 skins, they just have the portable titles to milk now. This may mean they are ready to show off something new.

No clue when AC8 will come out but the delay is 100% caused by them trying to figure out how to get the VR to work well.

Checkout Project Wingman. It's like an indie version of Ace Combat. I have it and played a few hours and it's pretty good.

I wish they would give us skins and emblems used on real world aircrafts. That would be cool.
 
Tom Clancy: Wildlands is free on gamepass and honestly it's a lot of fun when you treat it as a farcry/saints row type of game. It really isn't a a proper Clancy game with the default difficulty. One of the neat things is the seemly complete lack of any sort of rubberbanding so you can dick around anywhere during co-op.

If you are looking for a co-op game you can have a fun romp in while making fun of the funny looking characters and bad VA i'd recommend it.

I want to replay Deus Ex. Which conversion mod best reworks the stealth/AI?

I've never liked the way stealth works. Feels very dated and I've had multiple instances where I've hidden bodies well but they still get found.

It IS very dated and that's not a bug so I'll just... write it down as "player is doing it wrong"...

Realistic mode/difficulty gives you way more time to do your thing while making non-lethal much easier.

That's wild. I replayed Deus Ex vanilla just recently and never once even bothered to hide a body and they never got found.

Regardless, I'd recommend Deus Exe and the DX10 renderer just to fix the visual and performance issues it has on modern systems. No need to add any graphical bells and whistles, game still looks and plays fine.

2025 seems to be the date for anything Ace Combat 8 related according to their roadmap; Which makes sense given how long 7 took to make and all the shit they had to deal with making it. I hope they return to Ace Combat 6 style gameplay and level design, the scale they were trying to go for could really be improved with modern hardware.

Parts of its gameplay look interesting but every other element of it repulses me. I haven't seen a single person on Earth claim to be looking forward to it, genuinely nor ironically. I'm curious if it'll get shoved in console bundles or something to artificially increase sales.

I did see someone try and claim people didn’t like the trailer because racism/sexism, only for literally everyone to respond with “it’s the dialogue, you idiot”.
