Are videogames for children?

Just finished Conscript. Pretty solid game overall and probably the best survival horror game to come out recently. Could have used less mechanics like the mostly pointless shop and weapon upgrading. Looking forward to Hollowbody and Post Trauma next.

Dragonball Breakers is 50% off on Steam. I played the beta and liked it, but the EAC didn't work on Linux for a long time. I did buy it on Xbox but I don't play my Xbox sadly.

Its not a perfect game, the matchmaking has some issues, but for an 8 player dragonball survivor game I personally say its worth £8.50

Some in game chat would be nice though even predefined options. Would be nice to give the team a gg. But it's good. I think the negative review score on steam is kind of unfair.

I'm playing on steam deck, it works great but it defaults to 1080p render, go down to 720p on deck. Dont worry it's not verified.

Can we get an actual video game chat room in sneedchat? PLS MASSAH

Also turn-based RPG bros we're so fucking back
not many AA+ games these days I get excited for, rare exception for least not looking like average goyslop. hope they don't fuck it up.

Someone found some early cutscenes for mirrors edge, posted them completely unprompted and could suggest said person may own a copy of a proto mirrors edge or beta.
a prototype re-release of dragons lair for the xbox was found

Bonus content: half life 2 movie made in 2005 ( yes this means this was almost exclusively created using hammer )
edit: forgot to add that nearly an entire development cycle for the carmegeddon game I found has almost been completely dumped as well lol, dates suggest it was in development for well over a year.

edit x2: ok someone also dropped footage from the doom 3 launch party and I forgot to put it in my notes lol, I will come back soon with more stuff.

For some reason I always misremember the cutscenes from mirrors edge as being graphic novel esqe stills (like this) and not cheap 2d animation.

Either way, I like the second one. It humanizes the "other side," and why some people might want things that way. Could have been written better for the second half though.

And Solar Fields music shines through it all.

So, there's been some news about a game called Starbound, recently:

Evidently, the game is going to be hitting the beta on XBox fairly soon. Bit surprised that the game is getting an update of sorts after so long; seriously, it got released on Steam back in 2016, it's a pretty old game at this point. Granted, if I hadn't burned my bridges with the community a long time ago, I'd be a bit more hyped...

Anyways, what do you guys think? Anyone interested in the game? Hell, anyone even play it at this point?

The PC version of starbound was abandoned by the developers years ago. Recently the entire source code leaked. There are open source remakes of the engine. I really wanted to like starbound as it was overhyped by the developers as basically a 2D spaceman game where you can do ~everything~, but it's at best a generic dungeon crawler with cutesy graphics.

Every online asset store is about to be flooded with AI generated 3D assets.
By extension the indie game scene is likely about to be flooded with "pokemon monster pixar unreal engine 5 game ready" assets.

Oh what fun. So Gearbox took over for Risk and Rain 2 and recently releases 100% made Gearbox expansion.

And just completely fucked it. Bugs galore, writing of items just seems off, and multiplayer issues. And even better? Gearbox tied the physics system to the framerate!. They basically ported the console version to the PC and just completely fucked up.

Even just basically admitting "Yeah, we fucked up."

Yeah, I myself enjoyed Starbound a decent amount back in the day; as simple as it was, it was honestly fairly decent up to a point. Unfortunately, the abandonment of the game by the devs, a prior incident with my group, and the later cancellation of a movement mod that I was looking forward to basically killed any hype or interest I had in the game. I have thought about giving the game another shot once or twice, but...

Hell, even if I wanted to give the game another shot, I'd have to do some re-organizing on my mods; last time I played, I had way too damn many. But, that's just me rambling.

How far along is the Fallout 2 remake? Close enough to care or are we talking Skywind/Skyblivion levels of "maybe it'll be done in our lifetime"?

this is the latest update he has given in complete text + picture form, which implys that hes still doing a large portion of buildings but the screenshot below shows that he is very far along the props process doing larger details for buildings, I honestly have no idea so Im just gonna say life time.

Tried putting in a picture of a Burger King, it decided to focus on the two cars in the foreground (a parked sedan and pickup truck) and popped out this mutant vehicle despite identifying both correctly.

Next I put in a picture of a gas station and it interpreted the canopy and the pumps as a "futuristic weapon". Put in a supermarket, clarified in the text box that I wanted the supermarket, got more mutant cars.
