I heard the global version of BDO really fucks with the monetization somehow compared with the original. Has anyone played it? Worth a go?

You've obviously never played Command and Conquer Generals (The pinnacle of fun RTS). Oh the horrors as units move slowly across the field. My boomer ass will die from COPD by the time I get to the enemy base! I could've played four Starcraft 1v1's by now! God why do people enjoy video games?!
Been a while since I have played BDO, so unfortunately I would not be able to tell you about that. Nonetheless, if you liked playing FF14 and WOW I recommend you give BDO a shot. I was hooked. Coming from ESO, BDO was a blast and I was hooked.
You don't make a character in Crimson Desert and crime is treated similar to, or perhaps worse than, TES games. I'm not even sure what I did but when I went to talk to my next quest objective I got swarmed by guards, beat to a pulp, thrown into jail, and had the fine automatically taken from me. This seems to have fixed whatever I did but I doubt you can run around beating up women. At least no more than any other RPG.

I made the mistake of taking off my Hernandian attire and putting on the Bolton plate armor I purchased while in Hernandian castle. When I came out of the contribution shop all of the guards aggroed and one of them RKOd me. Definitely one of those games where you have to be aware of your environment... cant traipse around sensitive areas freely.
Yes, Expedition 33 and Doom The Dark ages are the only ones I'm aware of that literally won't let you turn it off but it's essentially mandatory in a lot of newer games due to incredibly poor optimization.
I am a huge critic of Dawntrail and it has a very bad story and shit characters but the actual content is still really good if that helps you power through it. Just be prepared to cringe for 90% of the MSQ.

RTS games have always been for more than just sweaty multiplayer players, friend. That's a newer development in the genre and still a very niche corner of the community. Most people who play them have probably never even heard of the term APM.
Warcraft 2 was not a "newer" development. The games who don't target the actual fans all fail. Command & Conquer clones, all fail.

I definitely feel like a child because I've always wanted a PS3 and Tools of Destruction for a while, but they were too expensive at the time. I have physical copies of PS3 games, so yeah.

Supcom is 100% a competitive game with FAF probably being the most coherent competitive scene there is in 2026, behind BAR. Furthermore, a huge chunk of SC2 pros had a Supcom background, not a Brood War background, like TheLittleOne(TLO). Lastly, Dawn of War, again, thriving competitive scene, to this very day. Only reason it matters in RTS history. No one competent at RTS cares about feels around nostalgia. World in Conflict? More like World of literally who? Not to mention what a huge failure Iron Harvest was.
