Video Game Chat Thread - Pre-Alpha Experimental Version

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

Are videogames for children?

I recently bought myself a PS1 after seeing it on sale at my local game store, along with FF7, Crash 2, and RE3. It was an annoyance to set up because of the need of an AV-to-HDMI converter, but in the end I managed to get it to work on my TV.

My little brother's friend gave me a Sega Dreamcast recently, does anyone have any game recommendations?

Are there videos of DDR songs, like, with the arrows going up the screen?

Gundam Rise From The Ashes is an interesting attempt at a first-person Gundam simulator. Kicked off a string of USA releases for Gundam games.
There's a Ring game that's mostly shit. From what I gather it's based on a later book in the series off the original novel and it turns out the world where Sadako kills you if you see the video is actually some manner of cyberworld and in the game you walk up and down the hallways of Cyberworld Incorporated headquarters and then you're in the dark evil cyberworld or something. I think I've read it was one of the first survival horrors to do first-person flashlights.
It's really fucking terrible and slow but I've read online that at the end you shoot Cyber Sadako with missiles.

You're talking about The Ring: Terror's Realm.

Spoony reviewed it back when he reviewed things, and also a reviewer called Supergreatfriend.

Of note, the dialogue in the game is nonsense a lot of the time, the voice acting is pretty stilted and there's all of like, two music tracks.

As for suggestions, Skies of Arcadia is pretty good, unless you prefer to play the Gamecube re-release or whatever it was.

What the hell am I even watching here? Wow.

Entered this way to preserve the time stamp. Video talking about with each kill in Fortnite a female removes a piece of clothing. Some are apparently underage.

Here's the video:

First 24 minutes are minor stuff, the truly weird stuff starts at the time stamp. Apparently YouTube doesn't immediately take videos like this down, or even demonetize them.

Did anyone here play Paragon before it got discontinued?

I wish there was an option to play solo in RE5, nobody I know plays the game anymore. I'm trying to S rank all the missions and Sheva keeps being a dumb nigger on 5-3.

edit - I did it and finished up all of pro (aside from the dlc) and Sheva's horrible AI starts to show there. She wouldn't resuscitate me half the time when I was standing right next to her. The fight at the end of 5-3 was a nightmare until I realized flash bangs trivialize the entire fight.

Recently I've noticed more and more that I don't finish games once I have reached the 'goal' of whatever progression system it has. This is unfortunate in RPGs, where the story is rarely over by this point.
As long as the progression is ongoing I enjoy it, though.

Anyone else experience this?

You could always get Project Justice, the only Dreamcast exclusive I was ever legitimately mad about not being able to get on my PS2. It's a sequal to Rival Schools, a PS1 fighting game. Basically, it's a 3v3 fighting game like Marvel vs. Capcom but all the characters are stereotypical Japanese high schoolers/teachers. It's a game where Salaryman Former Judo Star Teacher ends up getting the shit beat out of him by a Female Motorcycle Gang Member while a School Nurse the Specializes In Chiropractory watches.

Can anyone recommend me some games?

Specifically games with stories that start off deceivingly peaceful, but slowly get more and more screwed up until they enter "WORLD IS A FUCK" mode and everything goes to shit. Mother 3 isn't exactly what I mean, but it's the closest example I can think of.
