Are videogames for children?

I've been seeing a lot of praise for this Portal but horror mod, but it just validates my belief that zoomers have no fucking clue how to design or write horror. Spoiler, it plays everywhere at the end of time so you know it's scary.
Do people just not remember what good Portal horror is like?

But the office prank wasn't the first portal horror map (tm) so it just can't compete! That's really all it boils down to. Error seems like a comedy mod to me playing through it. About as cliche as cliche vidya horror gets.

Now I didn't come into this thread just to respond to something. Shit might be getting even worse for multiplayer gaming.

This is the second video that I know of from this guy on this topic. For the most part I actually was finding this good - an ai anticheat program that doesn't require root access bullshit because it simply accurately analyzes a real human player vs a bot assisted one through seeing their gameplay. But I have it timestamped to where it is for a reason. These retards want to push fingerprinting for how people play games. As in at least in a certain game you can't anonymize yourself at all because a neural net will recognize how you play at all times. Regardless of if you are in a brand new account, if you've played a game before they will have your behavioral data. I'm sure this will be used to ban cheaters and nothing else.

Yeah the fingerprinting aspect is something that worries me and no doubt it will find it's way into single player games.

While it could no doubt happen you can still force a singleplayer game offline most of the time. Plus there hasn't really been a justified reason for an anti cheat in purely singleplayer games besides the people that complain about achievement fakers.

Was thinking where to put this, but I guess this is the best place.

One question: Really?

FGC and Magic: The Gathering events still apparently have mask mandates (although I'm not sure if they have loosened or dropped those yet), and only recently did Pokémon events started to either loosen or drop those requirements.
Well, if they're still up, they're probably being run by woke shitheads who still think that COVID-19 is still a massive issue despite it not being one now (and never was if it weren't for the woke parroting the CCP's plans for world domination.)

Is Doom Eternal worth picking up? I've been enjoying Doom 2016 so far
I'd say it's worth a buy especially since it gets a steep discount when on sale. Didn't play the DLC though so I can't comment on that. Personally enjoyed 2016 more Eternal made some changes I liked and some I hated but I give the developers credit that they took chances with the sequel that made it feel like it's own game when most sequels feel like the first game with one or two new gimmicks.

As much as I like Doom 2016, I found Eternal to be a letdown. Game had way too many platforming and not enough of rip and tearing. And I didnt like the Earth setting or the new weapons. The mechanics were to kinda complex for no reason. Using the flamethower for armor HP, using the Chainsaw for rocket ammo, etc. Also the online is even worse in Eternal than Doom 2016. Not that anyone buys Doom for online.

It’s just a isometric police procedural. The writing isn’t even good, it’s just shit. The art direction is kind of neat, but who the fuck thinks this is good? The same people who suck nigger cocks and cream themselves about the Wire?

It’s the same shit as the people who like True Detective. I want to fucking take a sledge hammer to their genitalia, but odds are they already cut it off.

Anyone remember the game called Catherine? Pretty fun puzzle game mixed with romance and noir elements where you can tell the game was someone's passion project that wasn't dictated by a board. Back when game devs and studios were willing to take risks.

I remember the game getting a remake/updated port a while back and meant to check it out, but never got around to it. Think they put it on Switch at some point. I think my favorite part of the original game was the sort of neutral/freedom ending where it's just revealed, apropos of nothing, that the whole city's actually been in space the whole time. Always thought that was funny.

I know the re-release was a CURRENT YEAR update where they added a gay cross dressing option to attract twitter minorities

Chill bro. If you listed out your grievances with less poetry I think I could get it. Sucks you didn't like it.

I played it because I found it interesting myself. I don't know why but recommending games to my friends always ends up disappointing them. Dunno if setting up expectations to a game always fucks it up.

I just hate police procedurals.
