Are videogames for children?

I don't know if this video game related, since it's E-Sports related. Yesterday Faze clan died, stocks nosedived to pennies.

Faze holding were a billion dollar and it died overnight.

E-Sports are more about shilling for corporate trash than video games.

And it looks like another E-Sports team, TSM, is also falling apart too, as rumors are going out that they may cease their efforts in certain games, namely their League of Legends team. The FTX deal flopping (as well as FTX itself), looks to be the nail in the coffin for the organization.

And there's even more bad news for Faze Clan, as they reported a $53 million loss, despite increased revenue.

If I never played a Devil May Cry game would I be lost if I started with Devil May Cry 5?

Happy Trans Day of Visibility everyone! Heres a few pics to celebrate trannies in gaming. Because you know, its not like they're not shoved into everything.

Why are they using the Asian girl from Life is Strange when the same dev has a (surprisingly decent) game where you play as an actual FtM tranny?

Are Asians the same thing as trannies now?

I bought Citizen Sleeper on Switch and have been excited to play it from the talk I’ve heard on podcasts. But…… Non-Binary, Trans, Refugees. This latest interview with the developer just put me off the game completely.

I legitimately had thoughts about wanting to buy a Sega Game Gear on this April Fool’s Day because I thought it would be funny.

No, the main point is that the game and the story elements are stupid fun but lore isn't that important. The third game is the prequel to the first one, who cares where Nero came from in the 4th I can't remember etc. DMC5 is awesome though.

Just a heads up in case you seriously want one: Most Game Gears have bad capacitors, so if you buy one, you'll either have to get a repair kit and replace them yourself (microsoldering required; not easy) or buy one that's already been repaired.

What the fuck is this game? Its half game half shitpost
It's a japanese franchise that started as an experimental joke project on the Playstation 2 and improved the same formula since then: shoot the living hell of giant bugs, aliens and kaijuu coming from old sci-fi movies, often hundreds on the screen at once and inside large sandbox maps. There is total freedom in the way you're given the task, between different classes and the large array of weapons. No cutscenes interrupting the flow of the missions and the plot is conveyed through radio chatter which you can gloss over.

You can pick up and play these games whenever you want since there is nothing important to remember, just shooting. Sure you can get into the meta and learn how to be more proficient at the missions and stuff, but you don't have to worry about any of that until you're playing on the highest difficulties. EDF is very much straight-forward as a videogame. It's also fun to play online coop with either friends or randoms.

(the first radio chatter in the timestamp has the soldier calling the grey ayys illegal immigrants with no passport)

EDF6 really can't come out soon enough on western shores and PC.

Does it still have split screen multiplayer? Because that's a blast, even people that doesn't play many video games will be intrigued and able to pick up a controller and play with you. That's so much fun.

The sole EDF games that do not have splitscreen are the Switch versions of 2, 3, 4.1 and World Brothers (as local co-op require different Switch consoles with their own games).
And yeah, I remember playing EDF5 on the PS4 together with relatives who barely played videogames, if ever. It also helps that all enemies are the size of a truck or house (at minimum) so aiming with a controller isn't much an issue.

EDF is excellent b-game material. graphics are shit but the gameplay is wow
It's also so ridiculous in its violence and set pieces that it's ok for the whole family. Even if someone is really bad and a mission goes to shit you can laugh about it and try again, a decent player can(in my experience) carry a mission while the less experienced one is having fun jumping around and shooting ants. Unlike Left 4 Dead, RE5, LP2 and other cooperative games. EDF is just good wholesome fun.

I've seen a mentioning of Unpacking in some random comfy game list and I've gotta say I've never seen a game astroturfed so hard. At least Celeste seems like a decent platformer, this is basically a smartphone game being passed as ground breaking for MAN BAD and MUH LESBIANS.
All I remember about that game is the dev seething about all the chinese clones that got farted out.
That game was practically a chinese clone itself. Some boring task that barely stimulates you stretched ad-infinitum.

There's a new project I recently came across called "Project ERA" Which allows you to play Fortnite Chapter 1 (both BR and STW). Sadly the project pretty much requires discord to play it, BUT it is playable on Linux (using WINE or proton).

Konami has opened "KONAMI Osaka Studio", set to become their new major production studio. Also building a R&D center for 2025.
Konami has to start actually making games again since japan started cracking down on pachinko parlors. Except to see more crossovers (like the Dead Cells one) while new games in the various IP they own get ramped up.

Crab Champions came out on the 1st and it's janky fun. Third-person shooter roguelike where you're a crab.

Is it basically Risk of Rain 2 in a tropical setting? How are the guns and pickups?
The weapons are a mixed bag. You get level rewards of varying rarities (and widely varying balance) that fit into your inventory as either a weapon mod, grenade mod, or perk. I'm currently too drunk to elaborate on this, but it's more mobility-based than RoR2 due to the ranged enemies' predictive aiming and the general combat speed.
As an anecdote, I nearly crashed my game last run. I got weapon mods to up my fire rate by over 800% and separate weapon mods that, most notably:
1. Gave my bullets a chance to split into smaller bullets
2. Made my bullets shoot in random patterns and boosted damage
3. Gave my bullets a chance to split into homing bullets on-hit
4. Gave my bullets the ability to bounce and deal 50% bonus damage every bounce
5. Increased crit chance and damage
6. Gave my crits a chance to deal 3x crit damage (which scales off the increased crit damage multiplier)
7. Made every shot fire an extra bullet

And every perk stacks. If you pick up another copy, it levels up the perk. I had around 15 copies of each and it was insane. Granted, this was an incredibly good run, but for a beta release from a one man dev, it's pretty damn good.
