That fucker RWhiteGoose showed up in my recommended youtube videos but the topic was something I'm mildly interested in: Wave Race 64. It was just about the first track(Sunny Beach) and the world records on it. When I saw the old(as in many years old) world record I paused the video and thought "huh, I can do that, I'm good at wave race". I don't know shit about WR64 tech and only ever used the first guy, but I played for 90 minutes using the fat dude(equivalent to Bowser in MK) and, well... I'm roughly 1.7 seconds behind but my fastest individual lap is faster than his.

What surprised me is that I actually got noticeably worse the more I played, my top 3 runs on the leaderboard happened within the first 10 attempts and before I started to strategize.

The course is a bit over a minute long in total and I played it maybe 90 times in a row(that includes restarts). From this I learned that speedrunning absolutely blows and is only for idiots.
Man, I miss Wave Race...that was a good game.

I picked this game up on sale and holy fuck its one of the best single player games I've played in a decade. There is some jank present. The map is hard to navigate at first and the only way to force a save is by brewing potions, but its a blast. The combat is fluid, fun, and can be pretty challenging. Feels like a game that would be released during the gamecube era when stuff was okay with being goofy and weird.

If you haven't, you should play the prequels. The art style is very unique as is the gameplay. Zeno Clash and Zeno Clash 2 are both awesome action games. Nice to know Ace put out another installment in the series.

I hadn't heard of them until I played Artifacts of Chaos but I absolutely will go back and play them after beating it. I doubt I will enjoy them as much as the third installment just because they seem to be fully first person but the world building is so good that there is no way its not worth giving them a shot.

I am enjoying the hell out of Remnant 2 so far. Its basically everything good about the first game expanded on to nth degree. Like there is just soooooo much secrets/items to find all over the place in fun and creative ways. The boss/events so far have been fairly unique and I'm loving the different type of weapons I've been finding. The new class system works pretty well as well to mix and match traits/skills.

The one complaint I heard is that some people are having a issue with performance on the PC unless you have DLSS able video card.

It's worth it to check out their back catalogue in general. Even their weak titles have some good ideas and interesting hooks. They're pretty unique.

After dropping the game back in 2016 and returning to it now I have finally finished Vangers, holy shit what a wild ride, don't remember why I dropped it back then but now it goes straight into list of my favorite games, an absolute peak of overly ambitious games from the past, not a minute of the 20 hour playthrough was wasted while getting all the endings. Western release also got what has to be one the most metal game over screens.

Speedrunning works in games that are built around speed. Unless you have a very specific inclination to breaking down games you like in every way possible and figuring out how every little piece of them works most speedrunning isn't for you AKA you are not a massive autist. Just a bit of one. Racing games, fast platformers are some of the games that can actually be decent to play on repeat because they were designed around a timer being ever present or competition with npcs to reach an 'end goal'. Anyone who 'speedruns' cookie clicker, subway surfers by giving themselves completely arbitrary goals are clinically insane.

speedrunning is kinda fun and is a test of skill with how well you know the game. enough knowledge and you can beat the game in a shorter span of time every time you play it

There's talk of the Red Dead 1 remake again. It seems the game got a new rating by the South Korean ratings board. Also Rockstar has been removing the game from certain platforms. This is pretty much a sure sign there is a remake on the way. Some people are saying August will be the month it gets announced. This is the one remake I was really looking forward to from Rockstar. I already knew the GTA remakes would be crap considering when was making them. Rockstar supposedly put the GTA IV remaster and the RD1 remake on hold because the reception the GTA remakes received. Games that got slapped together as a quick cash grab are totally the same as games you are probably working on yourself. I don't see Rockstar handing the GTAIV remaster and the RDR1 remake over to anyone else. If they did it wouldn't be Grove Street Games or whatever they call themselves. The map for RDR1 is already in the game. The whole map is there and even the Mexico part of the map. That was already proven when people started glitching into the Mexico part of the map.

Not going to lie I would be pretty excited to see a RDR1 remake in the RDR2 engine. But what would be really great is if they also did a remake of Undead Nightmare as well. I tried playing it but it's bugged and doesn't play well. Rockstar broke the game with an update and they just never fixed it. It's called the headless zombie bug.

Hopefully it's a good remake.

Gameplay trailer for the Patapon spiritual successor was released:

Helmed by Patapon series creator Hiroyuki Kotani, Ratatan will be developed in collaboration with TVT. Its staff includes main artist Nelnal, main sound designer Kemmei Adachi, and .hack series director Kenei Nakasha.

A Kickstarter campaign will launch on July 31 at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12:00 p.m. ET with an initial release goal on PC. Support for “modern consoles” is planned via a stretch goal, with Red Art Games signed on to distribute a physical edition of the game in the west.

I really want to like Battlebit, but the shitty maps and Vector meta fags kill the experience for me.

Is the devil may cry series worth playing through?
Yes. The first one is/was good but it is probably pretty rough by now. Two should be avoided but give it an hour or two to find out why. DmC is stupid but plays decent enough, don't let the haters get to you.

Maybe start with the third one, go through the rest in sequential order and leave 1, 2 and DmC for last.

Last week I desided to playthrough fate stay night, I am not really into vns but I wanted to give this one a try, I finished the Fate route and overall I enjoyed it, I liked the characters and I think the story is well constructed, Ill wait a bit but I am going to play through the second route too.
