Snall update on Touhou 19:
One of the character is insanely broken:
when facing against them, she's nearly unbeatable but when playing as her, you can break the game's AI and watch as your opponent gives up and diesz even at max difficulty
It's almost terrifying...
Here you can see the difference:
This is what facing the final boss look like at max difficulty
This is a full run at max difficulty with said broken character:

I'm talking about for 1997, you fucking retard.
Quake 2 was always a blocky mess and the remake honestly does little to rectify that. It was fantastic to play in the 90's, can't say it's a title I've returned to.
noclip.website is a cool little site that lets you look at levels of classic games ala Google Earth style.
Oh, this is just fucking fantastic. I just blew 20 minutes floating around liberty city in 3. I always wanted to do that, but many areas of the actual map would crash the engine. This is nearly effortless. (If you hit shift, you can move even faster)

I always wanted something like this for the original silent hill, no keys to fuck around with. Sadly, it's not one of the games listed.

People were sperging out over Ubisoft deleting inactive accounts, but my thing is, aren't they forced to due to like some GDPR law with the EU for data privacy? so i wonder why retards make it out like Ubisoft is some evil part in this time when its more the EU being at fault. (cough cough retards like Yong Yea sperging out). Like there are times these big corpos are at fault a lot, but i feel retards will take anything to make it BIG CORPO BAD, when at times its Government at fault for a company's fuck ups, but do we expect these retards to bash the EU or US governments as much as they do some random gaming company

I wouldn't be surprised if the company didn't mention in the emails the deletion was due to EU laws which I can see leading to confusion

Nightmare Reaper has genuinely impressed me. Musing about whether or not to consider it my personal GOTY.

Balance is absolutely fucked (minigun with x14 damage, self healing and no recoil GG no re), but it's a wonderful little looter shooter. Spraying down rooms of enemies in a gory fashion, while dual wielding aforementioned miniguns, has yet to get old even in NG+2. For the price there's a lot of content too; big chunk of arenas, ton of levels, and a bunch of alternate play modes (including a much needed one that vastly increases currency gain and difficulty acceleration, while compressing level progression down to about a third of the stages).

I went into knowing nothing, and other than an incredibly dumb plot - I can't tell if it's trying to be sincere, or just straight facedly retarded - there's not much to criticise.

I was Windows-clean for 6 months, I relapsed and installed Windows 10 (but Win10 LTSC this time) on my old SSD. I didn't think I'd be able to actually fit it in there and connect it but I managed it (though it's hanging a bit loose slightly). Anyways I originally had the hankering to play CoD Black Ops Cold War again but instead decided to check out Warzone again. I couldn't find plunder even though I recall they brought it back, so I decided to try the resurgence playlist since I haven't played that mode since the first Warzone. I went in a match and basically quit out of minor annoyance after a few deaths.

I just got done watching this video and wow, there's multiple factual inaccuracies. This is a big channel too. Why don't people call this faggot out? Why do people watch this stuff?

Turbo Overkill made me miffed, I'm not going to lie.
The game came out of early access earlier this month, and having only played a bit of the demo previously I thought I'd buy it. Played a couple of levels, thought "Man this is cool" and thought to go ahead and play it some more during the weekend.
Come the weekend and I'm hit with a 6 gigabyte patch. I think, okay, must be those early access cobwebs. Once that's finished it hits me with a 7 gigabyte patch. At this point I pause it because shithole data cap limits and go look on the forums for patch notes.

Apparently it's been doing this every other day, sometimes multiple times a day, whenever a fix for anything is pushed. Their engine stores just about everything in one fuckhuge .resource file that needs to be redownloaded every time anything is modified from patching a bugged bonus chest in a level, to tweaking the enemy kill counter, to fixing a fucking menu typo.

Naturally you have some cocksuckers going "but at least the game is getting patched, "it's being expected" on the forums against anyone complaining [1] [2] [3] [4]

What a great way to shit up a fun game.

Shame the game is THIRTY FUCKING DOLLARS on psn

So Wayfinder (a sort of fantasy Warframe) came out yesterday in EA after being delayed by a day or so and just completely shit the bed with people trying to log in. Wouldn't have been that big of a deal if it was a sort of F2P game that had skin monetization but they are charging $20 for this thing ALONG WITH the monetization. Doing it in a really scumming way too:

Getting killed on Steam, probably give it a few months before it goes true F2P before getting closed.

iirc GDPR means you have to delete personal info when requested, no LOL YOUR GAMES ARE GONE. all the account needs is an email, once the purchase has gone through, is verified and out of reimbursement period from the payment processor said data is not needed anymore, which is what falls under the GDPR.

I get there are a lot of dead accounts piling up over the years, but there are various ways to deal with that, with minimal or no public notice. certainly beats an UBISOFT GONNA TAKE YOUR GAMES AWAY shitstorm which only will have one reply from everybody, and EU lawyers probably rubbing their hands in anticipation of another multi-million dollar fine, which ubisoft doesn't really have the money for anyway.

I've bought Bioshock: Infinite for under $10. Its cultural theming with what appears to be American imperialism looks interesting to experience. Any Bioshock fans? I've never played it.

Meh. I really liked Bioshock 1 and 2, but found Infinite pretty dull. I remember the intro where you're walking around and it's just showing off Rapture 2 Columbia to be alright, but I got about 2/3rds of the way through the game, set it down, and never bothered coming back. The tonics, the skyhook gimmick, the "choices" all just felt like a step down from the previous games. You might end up liking it more than I did.

Bioshock Infinite was going to be Levine's idea of a magnum opus. Basically a tumbler screed about how America is not great and Christianity suxx etc etc but in a lavish AAA game. Somewhere along the line though someone got cold feet and the politics got toned way down. The Founders became some weird cult that worshipped Washington as a god that did not really resemble at all the American nationalism/Christian right it was supposed to parody. Its still political of course but in the same generic leftist way all AAA games have to be. Along with this the mechanics and scope where you were supposed to live out the life of a character in some interdimensional Les Miserables also got scaled way down as well.

The game we got is a muddled mess in terms of story. The DLC makes it even worse. Characters do bizarre things and their personalities change for no reason.

The game play I don't find as satisfying,

For their first big draw you see they tried to make Columbia into a nexgen Rapture. A 'living' environment but failed and you just get this abruptly bifrucated game where you're wandering around interacting with NPCs in one moment then everything gets shuffled away when you pull out your guns and it becomes a regular shooter. The 'ecosystem' of the original bioshock was a more organic attempt at a 'living environment'. Speaking of guns they're also not very memorable. For all the attempts at being ground breaking the game mechanics are essentially dumbed down bioshock which is itself dumbed down system shock.

The other gimmick is how Elizabeth is supposed to be this super detailed AI companion that lays down the magic smackdown with you as you surf rick and morty style through these different wacky dimensions. But this is limited too.

Its kind of funny, if you didn't know any better you'd think Levine was a little too fond of his creation what with stuff like the out of nowhere literal exhibition of her menstrual blood stained panties. Hey I ain't judging. You do you Ken. Kind of sad he had to cave in and shrink her boobs though.

Stuff they did right.

Uh...well its a perfectly serviceable shooter if you ignore the storyline and the wild promises of some being in some living magical city. The city is pretty beautiful. Especially in the intro. The vigor bottles are some of the coolest designs for bottles I've seen so theres that.

The beginning almost feels like a joke. One minute you're sitting there listening to a barbershop quartet, and then suddenly everyone around you is running about like a splicer and literal "firemen" are trying to burn you to death. Maybe Levine thought the intro was dragging on too much or something, but it feels extremely sudden.

it got toned down so much that you hardly notice it really, which is probably a good thing. if you just treat it as a story of a dude doing a job and you're there for the ride it's pretty great (ymmv), and with all the production value and effort that went into it it's still enjoyable (look at certain details in a certain paris scene), no matter how much levine crawled up his ass and later took the ball and going home with the DLC (which rumor has it is part he was salty people liked parts of BS2 more which the dlc retcons, just because).
levine also wasted 6 years and like 2 games (pretty sure the redundant weapons were all from the canceled multiplayer game) till 2k had to call in a gears of war guy to get at least something out of it, thus getting his studio shut down and relegated to "narrative mobile games" or whatever no one gives a shit about, enough punishment already.
it also gave us one of the best waifu designs in vidya history and his daughterfu railing herself in a lot of futa porn, so can't shit on the man too much.

maybe it helps I never expected this "living, breathing city" (don't think even the marketing material alluded to that), and anybody who ever played a videogame knows escort quests fucking suck, let a alone making it a whole game. and as much as smoothbrains like to whine about the trailer, it was a fucking trailer anyone with 2 braincells knew won't look like that at launch, not to mention would be annoying as fuck constantly getting dragged out of the shooting bad guys...
TLDR: infinite was a victim of it's own overhype, being helmed BY THE GUY FROM BIOSHOCK.
