Video Game Chat Thread - Pre-Alpha Experimental Version

Are videogames for children?

I'm pretty sure they're giving a potential 3rd NuDOOM game a fuckin' stupid name like "DOOM Zero" because the id'thesda team said after DOOM Eternal happened that they have zero ideas left on what to do in terms of either gameplay or story.

I have pretty much no confidence in a third game, and I will continue to play gameplay mods for the GZDoom engine and the Doomer Boards Projects because they continue to be some of the best popcorn entertainment I've had.
 
Lucky Valve will never be sold as long as Gabe is still alive (and honestly, who has the money?) and even in his death (based upon its current management) nobody would know who owns it. Steam would just.....be with a team of autist working on it.

And Nintendo would all line up and commit Seppuku before selling to the round-eyes.

Watch as the game will flop and it will be blamed on people just not "liking single player games anymore"

Eventually Control went to Steam and I can imagine the financial rate improved since but Im not entirely sure if A.W 2 will do the same or if this will be a temporary thing. Really seems like its shaping up to be the former.

turns out I've been missing out


ive only listened to Unleashed, Colors, 06 and Shadow's soundtracks so far and already I had to force myself not to include like 3x as much shit in my lists because otherwise all I'd be hearing would be those four games
why do only the worst series get the best musicians to work for them?

Sonic is much more of a mixed than bad series. Its music does surpass its overall quality though, even most of the bad games sound pretty good, like Sonic 4.

Been playing the second The First Descendant open beta and having a pretty good time. (The devs actually spent the time from last year making suggested improvements).

The game is Destiny 2 gun combat combined with Warframe characters with 4 skills with gun/character upgradeable mods so it pretty approachable while being fast paced. Probably gonna get canned in reviews since there is not a single fat, ugly, and/or black women in sight. Just tons and tons of pretty asian/white people in skin tight suits.

That's a game series i feel i really did miss out on. Would've loved it when i was still giving a fuck about anything online co-op. So, uh, around the Dreamcast era.

I played from Talisman all through Delve, came back in Mirror of Kalandra, spent two weeks in league and felt fucking drained. The game mechanic bloat is fucking unreal. Spent even less time in that absolutely retarded roguelike league that came after. It's not a fun experience anymore IMO.
That said, my hype for PoE 2 after what was shown in Exilecon is unfuckingreal. Connect that non-D2 Javazon using non-Lightning Fury straight to my veins! Though i am a bit unsure about all the movement skill twitch gameplay shenanigans in muh loot grinder. Then again, PoE 1 already had plenty enough of that bullshit, without access to a dodgeroll and ridiculous visual clutter.

I've played the games considered "the best" and they're just really not for me. Absolute kino for speedrunning autists who like replaying the same thing over and over to get better and better until they've perfected a specific level, but I prefer a lot more variety and progression than the classic style offers and I'm not a fan of the story-heavy modern style either.

From the moment I got online I was kind of just taught to avoid Sonic like the plague so I did lol
Before that the only titles i'd touched were Secret Rings and Rush Adventure 2, so I... didn't get the best first impression

Online co-op not needed, there's splitscreen. It's also fun enough to play alone but it really shines when having someone else on the couch navigating the carnage.

I don't mind remasters as long as the game they're remastering is old enough and they actually put effort into it. There's a few games I'd love to see a remaster of (but will probably never happen)

I personally really want proper remasters of all the good games that are still trapped on the original Xbox like JSRF and the unaltered version of Ninja Gaiden.

No, Phil, being able to play them on Sexbox doesn't count.
