Any Assassin's Creed games that you guys recommend? I'm playing through Rogue again, and I also was thinking about giving Origins a shot; any suggestions? What about the other RPGs in the series?
I replayed Origins last year and my option soured quite a bit regarding the game. Ptolemaic Egypt is cool, Bayek has some interesting things going for him. But gameplay is a mixed bag. The story overall is awful and badly paced. The first DLC is cut content and the second one is a wasted opportunity. It is an okay game if you like AAA slop. From my initial playthrough, I liked Origins more than Odyssey, but I don't think that is the case any more. I am going to replay it soon, and it's probably better than Origins.

The only ones I played were AC2 and AC Brotherhood. I enjoyed both, The ending of AC2 was mind blowing at the time, but the reward for 100% wasn't worth it (just a FMV of two people running). I never played Black Flag, but it seems to come up as one of the best pirate games.

is star citizen even any good never played it?

I tried playing it since I have gamepass, got board and left it.
Every idea in it is stolen from a better game that is executed better and it takes up an insane amount of hard drive space, it's not even that good looking of a game so I am not sure why it needs to take up nearly half of my Xbox's hard drive.

Origins is the best of the RPG Nu-assassins games, Great character, great setting.
Odyssey has a neat setting that takes some liberties with the architecture and some ok characters (besides Layla) but suffers from open world bloat. Combat gets more fantastic abilities in the vein of God of War. Can be quite tiresome boating from island to island.
Valhalla is pretty shit, Both the scandinavian setting and the english setting are just dismal and depressing landscapes and the vilkings are written as heckin wholesome heroic diverse liberators. It also suffers from animus retardation the most. I didn't like the combat as much as I did Odyssey and the settlement upgrade part seemed like padding
"This festering turd is better than these other ones because it has a piece of corn stuck in it"

Does anyone know what the Outpost Infinity Siege drama is about?

I had heard of the game about half an hour ago as some great indie game that a genre blending tower defense game, but when I check the steam page the reviews are mostly negative, but English reviews are mixed.

I might have to make a "out of the loop gaming" thread.

Mechassault is one of the best games ever made

Mechassault 2 made me realize millions must die

I've never played a Monster Hunter game and just started Monster Hunter World. It has one of those "first day of school" tutorials where somebody literally gives you a walking tour of all the points of interest - not every Japanese game does them, but only Japanese games do them.

It is the worst, least effective, most annoying way to teach players anything.

Assassin's Creed 2 was quite fun, and also not coincidentally the first game that introduced the ideas they would proceed to beat to death over the next 97 games. Forget about the overarching plot, they fuck that up eventually. Just imagine your own ending that doesn't ruin the continuity they set up. It's just fun to stab dudes in the eyeballs from stealth.

Agreed that the art is nice, now if there was anything I wanted to buy 😢

I liked how the Steam sales used to be with the short duration steep discounts and whatnot, but I guess they had to stop that because it was considered anti-consumer or something? I'm not sure, I just remember the sales being more interesting.

IIRC another issue was that devs weren't making money on the platform because too many people said, "Eh, I'll wait until it's a dollar on a Steam sale."

It's great if you go into the free weekend to call the whales retarded. Don't use expletives but just telling them buying the game was retarded will get them to sperg about you being poor. Tell them you used the money they spent on fake ships to buy a cool vehicle and a home for your family, and you'll get 8 dudes announcing they blocked you on global chat. All the way there you get to experience the buggiest game of all time. Genuinely a 10/10 experience

Gonna play some Night Trap in honor of that faggot Lieberman buying the farm. Never forget that he was EGM's #1 enemy until readers started talking about voting Republican, then it was all "hold on now guise, video games is not serious business "
How far back has this shit been going on lol

You really gotta rub it in. Say instead of buying fake digital ships you bought fake digital money (in 2012) and are now a millionaire that can buy ever ship in the game.

I just found out that three days ago, BioShock: Infinite was released over 11 years ago

And then I saw this:

The first thing that comes to mind is that it will be just like the recent Borderlands and Wolfenstein entries: No fun at all.

I'm probably late to the party, but holy shit I'm excited for a new Hellgate game. There's no way they can fumble this... Right?
