The talentless slop shovelers at the Chinese Room managed to bore me to tears.
They are neither talentless nor did they produce slop with this game. The graphics, dialogue, music and voice acting is high quality. The monsters look and sound terrifying. I agree that they are lacking in the scare department. They could have done more to convey the horror of what's happening and should have used the creatures/entity more.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a part two where people are investigating what happened to the rig.

Chinese Room continues the trend of never having developed a video game in their fucking lives.

A game with a diegetic interface where you're an artillery man responding to calls for fire would be pretty rad, and that's more or less what this is.
I wonder if it's just going to be shooting down space ships or if they will have ground targets too

Been looking for good FPS games for the PS4/5, preferably with a post-apocalyptic theme. I've been looking at the Metro games, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Dead Island 2; anyone have recommendations?

Absolutely indistinguishable from every other first person shooter that's released in the past ten years.
And that's retarded when it's being rebooted at a time when Y2K aesthetics are a big retro fad. Perfect Dark was quintessentially Y2K. Much like Jet Set Radio, it's a game where its visuals should stay forever stuck in its era.

Just pirate Exodus because of Denuvo. Also, get the original 2033 (and maybe the books if you want the book-adjacent canon). Don't get the 2033 Redux, it takes away some from the original.

Has anyone gotten a pirated link for Atomic Heart with both DLCs? I only see the dev build pirated version but none without the two DLCs.

What does it take away from the original? I only played the redux.
2033 is my favorite in the series, as an aside.
There is one level, Outpost, where you can shoot off the gasmasks of some Reich soldiers and watch as they die from the outside cold. This is removed from the redux version (despite Redux adding many QoL changes from Last Light).

Dying light. the parkour thing might be quiet annoying sometimes, but you'll get use to it.

Terminator Resistance is also pretty decent too.

A freeroam remake of Riven (The Sequel To Myst) is releasing tomorrow. I'm an oldfag Myst autist and I need something Deck-friendly to play in the absence of Shadow of the Erdtree so I'm looking forward to this one

Demo seems bretty good, they've definitely changed a lot of things from the original so you won't be able to speed through based on the original puzzles. They've taken out the FMV sequences which is disappointing but understandable, upscaling 640x480 video to 4k isn't going to happen and AFAIK some of the actors have since died.

Fun fact for people waiting for a port of Bloodborne: the Riven remake comes out 9734 days after the original's release :^)

I never played the original. I thought the FMV was key? And the trailer showed a glipse of some so maybe only some was cut?
