Holy shit, I can finally play it without crashing every other hour?

Would never play this game myself but loved Tehsnakerer's video on Brigade E5 so I hope he covers this as well.

Speaking of Metro, in the book Metro 2035, the Invisible Watchers were the main antagonists but they were only mentioned a few times in the videogame timeline, particularly in the first few sections of Exodus. Good bet that they'll be the next target here.

There is also a symbol of a Dark One on one of the official 2039 artworks.
From memory the first real mention of the Invisible Watchers was Ulman trolling Artyom and Miller at D6 as they were descending into the pit, but like the books it was meant to be a boogey-man joke.

Again my memory is fuzzy, but I recall in 2035 Artyom discovers the jamming station and the Hansa goons that are killing civilians from outside Moscow, and he teams up with two to kill the goons and destroy the jammer. Eventually more goons arrive and capture the three, but Artyom is spared while the other two are killed. Artyom then learns about the Invisible Watchers before returning to Exhibition, and there he convinces Anna to join him in escaping the Metro with the van the two civilians brought to the jamming station. The major difference between the book and Exodus is that while is Melnik well aware of the Watchers in both, in 2035 he steadfastly supports the shadow government and despises Artyom for ruining his daughter’s life. I personally prefer Melnik’s arc in Exodus to 2035 even if his actions are more believable in the book.

Ultimately a return to Moscow could definitely be an interesting direction to take the series, and it would definitely be in line with Artyom’s character in the books. He sacrifices his heroic reputation as the Savior of the Metro to try and convince people there is a life outside Metro, only for everyone to scorn him in the end. Additionally, going back to Metro and trying to lead the people out of it will put him in conflict with every major faction, as all are controlled by the Watchers, so there can be a lot of interesting political maneuvering by Artyom and the Spartans to try and save those who don’t know the truth while fighting their leaders.

And of course, as every Russian has been quick to mention on Glukhovsky’s twitter, the relationship between Glukhovsky and 4A’s experience of the last 4 years will likely tie into the “trying to save the people of Moscow from the corruption of their leaders” story arc.

That Metro 2039 reveal was dog shit. They spent more time bitching and moaning about Putin than talking about the game. And why bother even playing when its shown that they're sticking to the old story that was leaked this week? And for some reason, Hunter is now a Nazi? Why are we playing as this "outsider" when Artyom literally has more of a relationship and tie to Hunter?

Also the Devs aren't even in Ukraine, imagine larping about drone strikes when you're in Malta. You're closer to mini Africa (Sicily) than to any slavs.

It was just marketing. Bully is basically The Breakfast Club with shit jokes.
I will not tolerate any Bully slander. Top tier game.

Yeah I got weird vibes from that and turned the video off. Seems like this Metro will be rife with “The Message” and the lame shots at Fallout when the only thing that Metro and Fallout have in common is Post-Apo with Radiation was just dumb. Plus the whining.

Let Artyom live in peace with Anna and his train by the sea away from the Rads.

Anyone got any suggestions for incremental games, survivors-likes or roguelites with meta progression? I'm on tear with these sorta games right now and I want more.

I’m a drawfag, so I’m really having fun with the new Tomodachi Life. :) Gameplay can be pretty sparse early on but things get much more lively as you add in more characters. By the end of the day today I actually had a hard time putting it down. All the drawing focus of this one is taking me back to the Drawn to Life games on the DS.

Loop Hero if you want something interesting.
Unnamed Space Idle if you want some exponential shit that never ends.

For roguelites, Binding of Isaac rules; if you haven't played that, though it's more meta-iceberg than meta-progression. Mewgenics if you also like tactics. Rogue Legacy 1 is kind of fun if you want an action platformer that's more disposable than either of those (there's a sequel but it didn't click for me the same way).

Replaced is a cool pixel art 2.5 D style game that just landed on Game Pass. Having fun with that.

Also picked up Carpathain Nights starring Bela Lugosi (that’s its full name) which is a Retro Classicvania style game that is quite fun. It’s got some elements to it that give off “mobile game” vibes like the original Nexomon does, but I love classic horror movies so to see Bela as Dracula in this is great. It plays kinda like 4 and Bloodlines mixed.

Along with that, in the same purchase, I got a Lovecraftian Boomer Shooter style game called Forgive Me Father. It’s got some weird difficulty spikes but I do like it so far.

Finished Horripilant today, my first incremental game in a little while and it lit a fire in me so I expect to look at the others on Steam along with those suggested in this thread soon. I'm still playing Starfield, as much as some people hate it, and it's fun enough.. I think I'll start alternating between it and Death Stranding so I can finally beat that and play the sequel.

What kind of incremental game are you trying to play? I did Clicker Heroes and Adventure Capitalist for awhile. Recently I've picked up Melvor Idle and I've been messing with it but it's basically a Runescape menu simulator (it's still fun.)
