Sure, if you want to look forward to a future of paying out your ass for mediocre indie games that sony will give you for free via ps+ and a confounding sense of buyers remorse for spending $300 on a tablet with only 2 or 3 good exclusive games while becoming more and more jealous of your friends that bought a ps4 and the cornucopia of gud games that are available to them.

Get a ps4, or even better, save up and get a ps5.
Switch is a decent console imo but there's nothing future proof about how Nintendo iterates on their mobile devices. If it hangs around as long as the 3DS one day they'll be selling shit called New Switch Lite + or whatever.

Anybody get a Nioh 2 beta invite? https://archive.fo/2IHtQ

PS5 video shows us the improved draw distance and loading we were told about in April...Woo! I do wonder though if their emphasis on SSDs means that PS5 will be like Xbone and have its secondary storage hardwired into the console and have you only use external drives for extended storage.

P.S. please don’t respond to this with censorship shit, we have an entire thread for that
There's stuff coming out about improved online connections for the system, I'm just hoping that the improved performance is actually on board and isn't relying on server side data and needing an always online connection.

Microsoft's game streaming deal with Sony is probably for shit like online multiplayer and PS NOW streaming, but I really do not want it to touch my single player games that i own physical copies of and those needing an online connection.

I don't even know where to post this.

Valve's Artifact turned out to be a colossal failure, so Twitch streamer Nymn started visiting the empty section on Twitch, which promptly made viewers stream shit in the category to bait him. Now, people are basically streaming full fucking movies with a tiny window of Artifact up in the corner, and for some reason admins aren't just insta banning everyone.

You can currently watch such classics as GoT, American Pie 3, Endgame, Rush Hour 2, or even Terry coding TempleOS.

This pleases me. Twitch has had too much of the wrong kind of manufactured chaos for too long.

Someone just streamed the Christchurch PoV for a few minutes. The whole category is dedicated to illegal content and pirated movies and yet the staff isn't just purging it every 2 mins.

I especially like the meme "this damn queue", as if they're actually queued for Artifact; both taking a jab at the game for being dead, but also those who spawned this whole meme wave: Minimizing their queue to watch tidbits of series or movies as if it's okay because it's only part of the screen.

A few Assassin's Creed games are on sale for the next 17 hours, but I'm not sure which one to get.

If you had to choose between Odyssey and Origins, which would you suggest? I've heard good things about both.

I hear Odyssey’s better, better writing, overworld, and combat

I'm reading a lot about microtransactions. I honestly wasn't expecting that to be a thing in these games, but I guess nothing is immune anymore.

I might just save my $20 30 for now, but I appreciate the advice.

To my knowledge it is mostly just exp boosts and little things like that. So if you don't mind grind, as AC is trying to be an rpg now I think, it likely won't matter. If you choose to not get involved for principle reasons that is a fair choice.

http://twitter.com/videogamedeals/status/1132677968139042816 MHW is a decent alternative, all of its DLC is just cosmetics and the September expansion pack, the game itself is still super content packed and filled with offline goodies

Yeah MHW is pretty good if you don't mind somewhat purposefully limited controls/movement as it is trying to force you to git gud and actually sheath your weapon instead of running around with it. I have about 80 or so hours into it, coop is good fun though I never played with randoms. I actually played with only 1 other person most the time which is ironically the hardest way to play most hunts in MHW due to how hp scaling works where multiplayer increases all hp thresholds by nearly 3 times to fit 4 people, but if you only run 2 it actually takes longer on average. Soloing if you can handle it is probably the easiest way, monsters break and get knockdown so much faster in single player vs multiplayer if your group isn't on the ball.

I'd look up some gameplay to see if it is your thing as it is a little strange for most people who never played a Monster Hunter game before, but MHW is to my knowledge by far the easiest to get into.

So single-player is doable?

I've heard very good things about MHW for a long time now, but I somehow assumed it was mostly geared towards online multi-player.

Also, ty @purpleboy, I just made a twatter the other day and have been looking for interesting / relevant things to follow.

I can't say with much certainty it is 100% soloable, at least not very easily as MH's community has strong autism and will find some way to solo or speed kill anything as much as the game allows, but most of it is what I'd considered "reasonably" soloable. Like 80%+ of it is not that bad to solo if you're willing to learn the fights and the systems, which is roughly a few dozen hours at least. Can always just pug (pick up group) with randoms if you're struggling.

I think saying it is geared for multiplayer is correct, but soloing is doable on most hunts and many old timer MH fans that I've met thought the original content on release (not sure about the newer stuff) was easier to play solo than with most 4 people groups due to hp scaling and that you can control the AI directly vs having to coordinate to take advantage of 4 human players.

Any good game that came out since August 2017? The last Brand ne game i brought was Yakuza Kiwami and i got tired of paying 69.99 + taxes for everyew games, i'm really not difficult on what game genres i play as long it isn't racing, sports or pvp-only

If you're not real picky, then I'd say check out this thread. Lots of free / cheap stuff linked.

ETA: I don't think anything that the big developers give out for free is all that new, but most of my backlog is because of all the things I got from the mentions there.

You can play the entire game (sans event quests) without an internet connection, but some of the harder side quests might make you want to play it online. @Just A Butt
