Anyone play The Outer Wilds? It looks like one of those games that's a good "experience" but not worth full price if you're after an actual videogame. I can appreciate games like Journey, but I'm having a hard time telling if the circlejerk around The Outer Wilds is just a circlejerk or if the game is actually good and just so happens to have advocates that also think "games" like Goodbye Volcano High will be genre-defining masterpieces.

It's a legit adventure game and its woke heritage, if any, is from the text adventure community which has been soyified over the years. The "worst" thing that can be said about it is, like Gone Home, it builds on player knowledge.

I can't post the link (phone-posting) but Hard4Games just demoed a prototype of the N64DD game, Mario Artist Paint Studio, complete with a cut gnat swatter game. This is, as far as I can tell, only the second time DD stuff has cropped up, ever.

Was Starfield even mentioned at any of the big industry events?

With Battlefield V going out like a fart in the wind, I've decided to reinstall Battlefield 4 and 1 to have a better Battlefield experience than V ever offered. I've heard that the games have had a bit of a renaissance lately with how disappointed fans were with V, but I'm not sure how well populated the games are for Xbox One.

I was able to get a couple of full Conquest matches of BF1 yesterday at midnight, so hopefully that's a good sign.

Been replaying Quake 4 lately.

I gotta say, it's quite an underrated game. It may not be as fast paced as the other Quake games, but it is still of a high quality, containing just enough old-school mechanics alongside things such as squad combat to make for an engrossing experience. Heck, at the risk of getting hate, I'll go so far as to say that, in terms of single-player. it's second only to the original.

Plus, it may just be one of the best examples of the Biopunk genre in video games out there, especially come the second third of the game.

Titanfall 2 on Steam for less than $10 is an absolute steal and the multiplayer has been revived as a result. Makes me hope Respawn can convince EA to let them make Titanfall 3 since Battle Royal and Apex Legends just isn't my cup of tea.

Titanfall is the last online multiplayer game I had any fun with since Quake Wars and the XBLA Battlefield game, coincidentally they were the last few games I was good at. 10 bucks isn't a lot of money but if only hardcore players are still playing multiplayer it will suck the fun out of it.

When is Nintendo going to release a Switch with a modern processor and 20 microsd slots?

I love my switch so much I don’t think I’m going to buy a PS5 (first console in the series I plan to skip). Recently playing: Trials of Mana, Slay the Spire, Grisaia

An update on the Battlefield situation for Xbox One, both 4 & 1 are fairly active for Conquest matches, with the latter having a dedicated DICE server for the DLC maps. Just filter the servers by player count, and you can find several full ones throughout the day.

It's that time of year where I go back to play Mabinogi until I get bored of it and hope there's another sale on partners.

I already knew it was the case, but it's become unabashedly obvious I need to get a new PC if I want to actually play anything remotely current. Got Ark Survival Evolved (something I've wanted to try for a long time) from the Steam sale and it took 3+ hours just to download and it was an unplayable slideshow.

Wish I knew how to build my own PC so I know exactly what I need to get instead of potentially spending a grand on a pre-built model. Hell I don't even about specs and graphics cards and shit. Despite my age I'm weirdly boomer-like with my computer tech knowledge...
