Since I like you guys and your opinions, I was wondering if I could make a thread where we ask for specific kind of games and we recommend each other titles.

Right now I'm in the position where I've bought a PS3 and I wanna know what are the best games in your opinion for that system.

Matt Hazard: Bloodbath and Beyond.
The InFamous Series

What are your tastes exactly? I'm usually more into browsing the PS classics section.

I'm pretty into adventure games. My favorite games on the PS1 were the first four Tomb Raider games (til the series went into the toilet). I own 3 PS3 games right now (Assassins Creed 4, GTA5 and Red Dead Redemption) but I also have my eye on Demon Souls and The Darkness.

FTL: Faster then light. It's a game where you're trying to save the galaxy from a group of rebels who have defeated the federation. The goal is to get to sector 8 and defeat the flagship.

Well get Demon's Souls. If you enjoyed Dark Souls, then I'm sure you'll like Demon's Souls, just remember that you can't upgrade armor, weight is a problem when it comes to picking up items, and that the game has a world tendency (white/black) that shifts depending on certain factors. As for my opinion on what good games there are for PS3, I'm going to say the Armored Core games though they may not appeal to every PS3 owner. Armored Core 4 is mediocre but For Answer is a much better sequel and improvement. Armored Core V plays differently from the 4 series while the sequel Verdict Day is more difficult, especially with the final boss. That's all I got to share for now.

Valkria Chronicles and God of War

Legend of Dragoon, Persona 3, and Final Fantasy Tactics are great classic titles for the system.

Arkham Asylum/City, Telltale's Walking Dead, Grand Theft Auto V is fun but I probably didn't need to suggest it

If you act right now, XCOM: Enemy within is on sale for $25.00. It includes the not only the Enemy Within Expansion, but the entirety of Enemy Unknown and it's add-ons (which would cost you like $52.00). It's the digital copy off the Playstation Store.

Uncharted 1,2 and 3, the God of War HD collection and God of War III are good exclusive titles.

Journey and Flower if you fancy something a bit different. Super Stardust HD is one of the oldest offerings on PSN, but it's still one of the best games on it.

The Yakuza series has some good replay value. If you don't mind reading subtitles it's a fun game with an interesting storyline.

Mass Effect Trilogy, maybe Dragon Age, Skyrim, and Bioshock Infinite.

I recently finished Infinite and it was fantastic.
Edit: OH! And there's Dragon's Dogma. The combat in that game is the best I've played in an RPG in a long time.

Bullet Witch
Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad
Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
Spider-Man: Friend or Foe
Superman Returns
Transformers: The Movie The Game
Two Worlds

NO! I'm just kidding! Don't do that! For real, check these out:

Asssassin's Creed 2
Dragon Age: Origins
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Grand Theft Auto V
LA Noire
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 3
The Metal Gear Solid collection
Red Dead Redemption

You picked a good time to get into the PS3.

Since you no doubt know about the big titles I'll list a few hidden gems. The upside is that none of these games sold very well, and can be found in Gamestop bargain bins.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Dark Athena (includes a remastered Escape From Butcher's Bay)
Dragon's Dogma
Red Faction: Armageddon
Dust 514 (a passable FPS that is free to play. Found in the PSN store)
Valkyria Chronicles
Space Marine

It's too bad you missed out on Fat Princess, as I doubt very many people are still playing it.

Glad to see at least someone else knows Dragon's Dogma exists. It's actually a pretty good game.

I haven't seen anyone make a recommendations thread, so I decided to start a thread were people can ether recommend or ask for games.

Here are some recommendations off the top of my head -

Saints Row 2 - The best in the series, If you want a good GTA clone that has awesome customization options then get this. I highly recommend this over the sequels which gutted the customizations of the previous game and decided to try way to hard to be wacky.

Don't Starve - A fun survival game that actually places emphasis on surviving, it's also one of the few non zombie survival games that have been saturating the market as of late. Recommend it if you like games like FTL or Binding of Isaac.

Total War: Shogun 2 - If your into RTS I really recommend Shogun 2 and it's expansions, it is probably the best Total War series game in my opinion, with better AI than previous games and is easier to play but can still be challenging. Also get it over Rome II which is a extremely inferior game compared to it.

Dark Cloud 1 & 2 - A really underrated JRPG for the PS2 that combines real time dungeon crawling with city building with a unique leveling system that places emphasis on weapon customization. I recommend playing 2 first, becasue they it is a much more polished game than 1.

Shin Megami Tensei/Peronsa series - I only recommend these games to anyone who likes JRPs. If you want a hardcore turn based dungeon crawler, then you might like these. If you don't like things like anime then stay away from the Persona series becasue I guaranteed it you will hate it, but if you don't care I highly recommend them and starting with the 4th in the series. But Even with that I would still recommend the mainline SMT series to anyone who likes turn based RPGs and recommend starting with Nocturne on the PS2, Digital Devil Saga also on the PS2 or Strange Journey for the DS .
