My guess is he caught the attention of some especially pissy mod. Off-color stuff has happened before (he played a Curb Your Enthusiasm clip where someone said faggot, and the infamous Tron Bonne hentai) but never got suspended for it.

I mean it's not like he hasn't said before he just didn't felt like streaming, i don't see a reason why he would be lying now, Joel has always treated streaming like a hobby, he streams whenever the fuck he wants, although there's a point to be made that he was pretty absent trough this year, despite being the one year where everyone is being locked inside
I find it a little annoying when he says that streaming is just a hobby to him when his streams are what prop him up financially. I find it kind of odd. In a recent Q&A he confirmed that he doesn't have a day job and doesn't make much off of his musical stuff, just enough to break even on his time and have fun doing it. Not saying he should force himself to stream but like, it's obviously not just a hobby for you.

From what he's said a couple of years ago he's basically set for long time wrt savings, and almost owns where he lives? I do doubt he'd be in real financial trouble if he suddenly stopped, but obviously a lot can change in that time.

Honestly him treating it as a hobby is probably more for his mental health more than anything. Nothing kills interest in something you enjoy, or exhausts you quicker than having to do it almost every day as a perceived job (especially if you put on a facade like so many other streamers) - this goes for Vinny as well I suppose, though he's a bit weirder due to his schedule.

Twitch's autistic double standards strike once again. Let's pray there'll be a far less shitty platform that could possibly even compete with twitch sometime soon.
Not as long as the Patriot Act exists and anyone can cut off money from upstarts just by claiming they’re all nazis planning white terrorism or some shit. Not to mention every payment processor already has cold feed over booba even if it’s 100% legal, but a part of me also blames the fact that anyone can lie about their age and see tits when they’re not “supposed to”, and we’ve already seen something similar to this with YouTube removing data collecting features on “kid demographic” videos so the government and COPPA don’t get on their ass. The only solution I can see to ease concerns on that front is making some kind of draconian internet license law which I’m sure literally no one wants.

Fair, but Joel just lies for no reason sometimes. Remember how he lied about going to college right after grade school in spite of it being common knowledge that he was working some dead-end job before his streaming took off? It's not out of the ordinary for him to just make shit up.

It almost makes me wonder what Vinny thinks of this stuff being out there, and how much his family really knows about how massive his viewer base is; whether this really is true or not.

It's a rock and a hard place. The only way he could've maintained his privacy completely would've been to stop streaming completely, or to do what cr1tikal (initially) did and just be an anonymous voice with no face or name to it - but he could never have achieved the level of popularity he did without sacrificing that privacy. There's really no middle ground there. It does suck, and I do feel bad for him, but there's just not much else he could do about it beyond discouraging that behavior and then ignoring it.

As for how much his family knows, I wonder that myself. I imagine they have to know at least a bit since he is popular enough now that people occasionally stop him on the street for pictures, so if he's ever out with his family, that's probably happened before. If I had to guess, I think he likely keeps the exact numbers a secret, but his family likely knows that he's popular enough to have name/face recognition.

I can't believe that after 10 whole years of streaming, the thing that gets Vinny thrown out (temporarily) is blade runner.

I think only Youtube if Twitch gets even more puritanical to pixel and polygon titties, as Screenwave is there too.

Apparently the fact that the robinsons showed up in a mod instead of an actual game is what got Vinny banned. I was feeling bad for Vinny, but apparently Shesez (Boundry Break) got banned for a fucking week and Twitch refused to tell him anything about what got him banned. I honestly don't know why Shesez is on Twitch in the first place with a successful YouTube channel, but I'd have dipped after that bullshit.

Why not? you can only upload new videos so often without dropping quality, and twitch provides a bit of extra revenue between editing videos that doesn't hurt, plus if he where to stream on youtube then the livestreams would mix with the regular content and it would be messy, and if he where to make another youtube account for streaming, might as well just open a Twitch channel since twitch is actually built for streaming.
Regarding the ban, i would have no idea, the only thing i can think off is because he was exploiting games so it counts as live hacking? but that'd be a stretch even by twitch moderation standards

Shesez got banned for saying mongoloid. It said that he said a slur in the ban notice but I don't think he knew it was a slur and was confused, but then didnt want to admit it once he figured out what happened and just played dumb so he wouldn't have to admit to his uwu hes so pure audience that he said a slur lol.

I wasn't there for the stream so when he posted about the ban I looked in the tweet replies and people who said they had been there didn't know what the slur was supposed to be and thought it may have been related to him bring drunk on stream, but that makes more sense.
