I'm trying to word this carefully because I'm still not fully sure how to feel. Is anyone else just sort of... bummed out and sad about Vinny's current content? Back after the Drama it was understandable for him to cut back on livestreaming, keep the audience at arm's length and do his prerecorded videos. Sometimes it even works out well, such as when he played Silent Hill 3 unimpeded by chat and getting to experience the game by himself.

But honestly, most of the time, Vinny doing videos by himself is mostly just absolutely grating and annoying, increasingly so as time goes on. He plays a game, he's shit at it, he talks to himself about Star Trek and Red Vox and he broadcasts half-informed shitty opinions. The worst disappointment in all of my years of watching various Vinesauce streamers is realizing just how fucking awful Vinny can be without a chat to bounce off of.
Even the livestreams are depressing. Like the first thing he has to say when streaming corruptions is to make a disclaimer that no, Sunday streams and actually interesting content are still not going to be a regular thing anymore. Then he says that he's no longer really up to date on anything regarding corruptions anymore and tells people to check the corruptor out for themselves.

The message I'm getting from all of this is that Vinny has lost his passion for everything that made him great - corruptions, shitty games, romhacks, obscure games, AIs, vintage advertisements, really anything that would have happened on a Sunday - and is trying to let the audience know that there will be less and less of this content until a full exit. And then there will be nothing but Animal Crossing while he talks to nobody about his dentist's appointment and the next Red Vox album.
Like, how sad is it that the most consistenly hilarious part of current Vinny are John Fullsauce's thumbnails or shit like the Jerma greenscreens edited into the prerecorded Minecraft part where Vinny forgot that he had the map picture on screen? The only truly great thing that has happened in the past few weeks are the Mario Party streams with his mods or the other streamers (Mike, Rev, Limes)

I'm not bitter about Vinesauce in general either, Joel has still got it just like always (fuck yeah new GeoGuessr, the Great Sprunk Incident) and Limes is currently my favorite streamer period. IMO she's been on fucking fire. Her vtuber thing has bizarrely led to her cutting back on her high-pitched wholesome cutesy act and being much more entertaining, and she's either playing games and is consistently good at them, or she does amazing shitpost-y streams like Deadly Premonition, Michigan - Report from Hell or RE6 with Mike.

I dunno, I don't notice that much difference other than Vinny not being able to read out a chat message with either a good question or something so hilariously stupid that he laughs and wonders aloud why he even read it in the first place. Chat has always been hit or miss for me. He's always been bringing up the same things over and over in cycles. Going from Star Trek to Star Wars to LotR to Blade Runner arcs on repeat before the drama happened.

As someone who pretty much stayed up most nights watching his streams, I'm actually glad his withdrawal has helped me get a better sleep schedule. After the drama and him going on his streaming I had pretty much said my goodbyes to him ever doing anything related to videos or streaming ever again, so I will take the new Vinny who's much more suited to background noise over nothing. I've also found a lot more time to check out other streamers a lot more. Joel, Limes, and Jerma have kinda filled that streaming void for me, but I know they're not really the same. As autistic as it sounds, not really getting my chat messages read a lot is a silly thing I've just let go of, and I feel better for it.

It really is just sad to witness an end of an era, no matter how I feel about it. It really won't be the same ever again and yeah I do see why you'd miss it a lot. Even with all of Vinny's talk about pulling away for his own mental health and focusing just on what he wants to focus on I see how his new modus operandi of not plunging headfirst back into classic streaming is disappointing. I just hope that he's not fully done with Sunday stream stuff, and that a better curation of things that would normally pop up on those days will make them better than ever. Already some of the more recent corruptions have had me crying with laughter, and while I will miss the insane or inane crap we had to wade through every Sunday there's a part of me that's happier we get a more distilled version of it. Seeing the Vinesauce community/Vinny's friends step up and really help Vinny out with this kinda stuff is pretty cool imo. Whether that be for vetting corruptions or helping with Minecraft or playing Mario Party together.

Oh I think you're completely right regarding the "end of an era" thing and branching out to other streamers. Some of Vinny's crew like John Fullsauce and AgentRedJackal are pretty great too, but they just don't come anywhere close in terms of output or variety. My "problem" with Jerma is that I barely register him as a videogame streamer. He's an entertainment and acting genius and he's got good taste (No More Heroes, fuck yeah), but he has his own schedule restrictions that prevent any consistency. Much like Vinny, what stands out to me are his unique bits rather than "normal" gaming, such as his greenscreens, facecams, dollhouse and the fucking public domain movie nights.

Another thing is that I don't really put on streamers as background noise. I'll sit down and watch 4 hours of Sunday but I won't have 2 hours of Minecraft and miscellaneous smalltalk running in the background. It's a very personal thing but Vinny's Sunday streams used to be live in early Monday morning in my timezone, so I used to watch a bit of Sunday stream to start my workweek before catching up after work was finished (:_(

I love comfy Vinesauce games like Minecraft and to a lesser extent Skyrim. This has been one of the best months or so since Vinny has been back in terms of content I like.

Trying to listen to the newest minecraft episode, the whole crying about an ear infection thing is annoying but I can understand that it would suck if you were a musician. But then that Mono guy joined, and I either never heard him speak or he just never stood out, but he came across as a really preachy, annoying, pessimistic cunt. The whole shebang really, unfunny jokes that everyone pretends to laugh at, annoying voice, capitalism bad, ancestors bad, literally adds nothing. Somehow ties minecraft villagers into some dumb metaphor about businesses. Is he always this bad? Or was it a full Joshua moon, which strengthened the autism for that episode? I just can't stand doomers that make everything negative while fishing for good boy points. I don't follow any mod vinny brings on, I'm guessing this is one of those furry mods right?

A lot of the community that surrounds Vinesauce and related streamers are of the millenial/zoomer bend that thinks the world owes them and are perma-addicts to social media; the kinds who typically spout the fresh-out-of-college stereotypical nonsense like the things you described precisely. I especialy see evidence of it all the time whenever a streamer brings up COVID.

Hell, I tried tuning in tonight to Desert as he played BPM: Bullets Per Minute, and immediately he began to gripe about people going out to theaters to see the new Spider-Man movie, admitting that he still thinks COVID is a danger to humanity and that people are careless to ignore it while bragging about getting his booster shot this week. Most of his chat espoused the same cowardly moralism. I have still not gotten vaccinated, and have been untouched completely by COVID these past 2 years despite working a manual labor job that puts me in close contact with other humans, and it comes up as a topic with such frequency these days that it's made me stop participating in any of their chats entirely, and have for quite some time.

It's no surprise furries and troons also orbit Vinny and Vinesauce so much. They're subcultures that wholeheartedly gravitate towards what you describe, and Vinny's mods and community helpers often fall under those categories (NorixWolfe a prime example because he became both.) Eager beavers who love government overreach unquestioningly, LGBTQ subculture idiocies, pretend to rail against Corporate Twitter but flip on a dime once they see them spout BLM or Trans Rights, love to spout ACAB at any sighting of cops in video games, etc. I have nothing personal against the streamers themselves, but it saddens me that they're stuck in such an obvious bubble and probably can't go against the grain without risking ostracization or cancel culture that culminates in a Twitch ban.

Well, he isn't wrong.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I miss the daily streams as background noise. I miss the sunday streams a lot (especially the old/obscure games). I miss the chat because it contributed to a lot of funny moments.

I don't think Vinny's ever going back to streaming like he used to and if that's beneficial to his mental health, so be it. I'm still a little depressed about it tho.

I wonder how his financial situation is. I guess he's still making enough money to live a comfortable life or he's made enough money over the years. Sometimes I wonder if he's just going to stop the video game thing altogether and focus on his career as a musician. Guess we'll see.

He made his coin shilling those free dee fijjet speenars yeeeeh

I miss Vinny being live regularly as well. I made this account right when the drama happened and others in this thread thought I was crazy for thinking Vinny would stop streaming. As a viewer for almost a decade, the writing has kinda been on the wall for a while now and I think the drama just accelerated the process a little bit. Vinny always sounded tired and exhausted by chat, and I think the reason Vinny doesn’t seem as entertaining anymore is because most of his act is being the straight man to whatever insane bullshit chat felt like spouting on any given night.

I don’t even blame him to be honest. Twitch chat is mostly awful no matter what channel it is but Vinesauce has always been chock full of furry spergs and weirdos. I’d be tired too if I spent over a decade babysitting and playing internet armchair therapist to like 5,000 people close to half my age every night while I was trying to enjoy a video game.

The drama gave him an out to take a break for a while, and during that time Vinny realized he didn’t have to spend every night being chat’s babysitter.

The_Monotonist for the most part has interesting things to say usually and isnot a furry.

Don't let Desert and Norix ruin the rest of the mods for you, Some of them are just normal dudes just trying to chill and play video games.
I agree that Desert is terrible. Just rip off Vinesauce with a heavy dose of SJW and autism though. Cannot understand why anyone would voluntarily sit and watch them shill vpns and listen to fart with reverb.
That is, if they arenot on twitter typing out a sob story about how there equipment wont work, or how they donot feel well. Must be taxing deciding what gibberish to name the stream title every 4th day.

tfw immediately after my massive sadpost about the end of Vinesauce I am placated with a Sunday livestream of game commercials, one of THE best Vinesauce segments, and Intredasting itch.io games, plus Mario creepypasta the day after. This New York bastard knows how to reel people back in.

In regards to the sadposting, Vinny said in the most recent Christmas Eve stream while he was playing banjo that he wants to put more energy into making music than streaming or recording videos as an old man. Didn't say he didn't want to do it anymore, though.

Today marks the one year anniversary of "I fucked Vinesauce" tumblr post, which eventually lead to failed cancellation of funny pizza man. Let's reflect on this a bit.
