Does the Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban series count? If so, I have played 1-4, but not 5-6, as I don't have a 3DS.

My opinion on 1 soured a bit after my encounter with the Lana Skye-kin who accused me as a pedo though. :(

I say it does. While there is more interactivity than your average VA, it still counts.

That's a shame. I feel like most people don't even know about otome games as a genre. I know I've known about visual novels for ages but only recently learned about otome games because of that new release (Ozmafia I think?)
 
Zero Time Dilemma releases in 3 days officially but the 3DS version was leaked today so it's possible to play it early. Fortunately I hacked my 3DS a few days ago. I've honestly been waiting for this ever since I finished VLR. I'm pretty hyped.

I didn't hack mine and I'm kind of pissed people are playing it before I can. I guess all I can do now is quarantine myself.*

I stopped reading VNs and editing/proofreading for about 3 months after finishing Alternative. The groups I was helping were mad but I couldn't do anything, every time I thought about VNs I could see...well...I could see them. I could see the cosmos waifus. (:_(:c:heart-empty:

But it also led me to help out Alternative Projects, so that's always good! And we've got a ton of new shit coming out super soon... we're restarting work on Altered Fable: Before the Shimmering Time Ends with based Jutsuki Sen, which in case you didn't know was
based after the ending of Alternative, with Kashiwagi and everybody surviving somehow in the...normal universe? Game wasn't too clear but who cares more waifus, including not-dead Marimo-sensei :heart-full:
and this bad motherfucker right here, which of course is Schwarzesmarken's VN #1, “Crest of Blood", which looks dope as hell. Oh yeah and Total Eclipse, which is pretty good and set in the Unlimited timeline, and one that's been in the works for fucking years but apparently we're just now getting around to, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, which promises to be another Alternative-style barrel of laughs and excitement. :c

Anyway, I think my favorite, that ended up topping Muv Luv which was my favorite for a long time, is Hoshizora no Memoria (Wish Upon A Shooting Star). Very sweet and made me cry like a little bitch. Husband says it doesn't even compare to Muv Luv but he can suck a dick.

The story begins with the protagonist, Kogasaka You, moving back to his hometown, which he left behind several years ago. Upon arriving, he stumbles into an abandoned, sealed observatory, whereupon he encounters a mysterious girl who looks exactly like his childhood friend did years ago. She introduces herself as Mare, a shinigami who reaps nightmares.

Meanwhile, back at school, You ends up joining the astronomy club, which is in desperate need of new members. At night, he continues to visit Mare at the observatory, all the while trying to remember a certain someone's name...

I also really liked G-senjou no Maou (Devil on the G-string). Not as fun as Muv and Hoshizora, but interesting story and very riveting with quite the twist.

You play the role of Azai Kyousuke, the son of a legendary gangster infamous in the underworld. You spend your time listening to Bach, playing God at school and covertly working for your stepfather, a ruthless financial heavyweight. This idyllic existence is broken when two individuals appear in the city - a beautiful girl named Usami Haru with hair you could get lost in for days, and a powerful international gangster known only as "Maou". Almost without delay, the two begin a deadly cat-and-mouse game, bringing you and your friends into the crossfire. Plotting, political intrigue and layer upon layer of interlocking traps are the weapons in this epic battle of wits.
 
I'm a massive fan of Higurashi When They Cry and Umineko When They Cry. Be my friend if you're into these too.
 
I finished Zero Time Dilemma and VA-11 HALL-A a couple weeks ago; completely made my summer that much more worth it this year. Death games and listening to strangers' problems is a surprisingly good combo to get yourself into for feels. 'u'

I...I do love Higurashi, but could never get as excited about Umineko for the longest time. Forgive me. ;;
 
Has anyone played Kindred Spirits on the Roof? Man, those LGBT SJW's should play that game, instead of reading those shitty web comics, for a real story that delves into the troubles, homophobia Japanese lesbian schoolgirls suffer through.

Really great game. Not as good as Akaiito though.
 
I finished Zero Time Dilemma earlier this week. After playing the previous two, this was a satisfying ending... but I don't want it to end.

Looking forward to playing the upcoming Phoenix Wright entry, and the Hotel Dusk "spiritual successor" Chase coming out later this year. Debating whether or not to get Corpse Party.
