The Flipside has become such a shitshow that's almost not even funny. Foot fetish scenes galore, Jeffrey (weeb loner character with a giantess fetish) being discovered to be somewhat of a self-insert for Max, his audience getting mad at an scene that depicted palestinians negatively, one of his troon ex-friends denouncing him on reddit, getting butthurt about the yurifags on his fanbase, group which he himself attracted since Nicole (the MC for Class of '09 and the Re-up) is an open lesbian that hits on multiple female characters. He has a thread on here, and the last 4 pages explain it far more in depth

Yeah, I lurk a bit on that thread. Not because I was looking for class of 09 stuff, I was just searching YouTube personalities I knew and found it. He's kinda interesting in that he's not a lolcow because he's just a generally reprehensible piece of shit, which he is. But mostly because 80% of his online persona is him acting like a smug prick because he has a freelance gig that pays a little more than minimum wage, which makes him waaay better than those loser, weirdo anime guys... despite also being exactly as awkward and socially inept as those weirdo anime guys. He's actually a little like Null in that aspect.

I appreciate Null for putting together a space where you can have a sincere discussion about dumb bullshit after 4chan went to shit. But, I am, by no means, a fan of his.

Finished reading The Hungry Lamb. It's really good. Set in China 500 years ago, it's about a pair of outlaws taking a human trafficking job to deliver young girls across historical China, which is in its usual phase of massive corruption, civil war and horrific starvation. It's relatively short and sweet (about 12 hours) and while having some horrific moments it doesn't really go into misery porn like Higurashi did, and has a lot of moments of levity to show the world isn't completely awful and that people are still human despite the situation.

The game itself is completely linear with simple dead ends and the final scenario changes according to your choices. Spoiler for how the endings work: There a good true ending and bad true ending and as much as I love good endings the bad one works better thematically.

Overall I highly recommend.

She was. So much so it became a meme with her being the butt (heh) end of all jokes.

Ciel became my favorite after reading the manga before the game. They realllly did a good job making her mysterious, awesome and tragic at the same time. It shaped my entire perception of her and had the most imagination defining her character and abilities. (She uses her black keys like Gundam funnels and flings them around remotely). The 1st games writing for her wasn't perfect but with the manga in mind she's always going to be my favorite.






They went wolverine HARD on the gore for her regeneration.



In other news I'm really excited for the visual novel gundog. They are releasing it next year and apparently the scope and ambition has gone up for it. Instead of just playing it in PC 98 green they've added an extra color mode that makes it look like a sunrise 90s animated PC 98 Gundam game

It looks fucking great, although id argue there's more tension and charm with the green color when all hell breaks lose.

Since there's an anime coming out next year, I've started Summer Pockets today after sleeping on the whole "lulz font is corrupted" message that popped up for some reason when I first tried playing it last night. It confused me so much in thinking the tablet layout was something I needed to figure out to play only to realize the font being corrupted meant text wouldn't show and that peeved me off. So anyhoo, guess I'm still in the prologue, probably got one or two other girls I got to meet before the prologue's over, then I'll be on my way in figuring out what this story's about. I want to cuddle an Inari plushie just to know how it feels, pon.

I dunno, guess it just feels nice to sit back and play through a visual novel proper.

I've wanted to make a video on clannad for a long time. Feel free to tell me if the self promotion is unwarranted. But, how do you all feel about this thumbnail. It'll be in multiple parts and the idea is that I make a pastel silhouette for each part based on whaever character takes center stage. But, part 1 is the introductory chapter so these are the only thing that make sense in my mind.

Personally, outing your Clannad YT video thumbnail on this site of all sites is one of the worst decisions you could ever possibly do.

...buuuuuuut if you really want some advice, the thumbnail is pretty good but you need to think of thumbnail when being viewed from a tiny phone screen. Is it still recognizable on a tiny phone screen? I'm going to assume your YT channel is small so you need something as catching as possible if you want it to get any traction whatsoever. Also I'd change your thumbnail all together because all it takes is one autistically dedicated Kiwi for you to be another name on the Easy to Track Username Hall of Shame.
