I still don’t get why they hire Yong in the first place?

Woke shit.

Literally you need to expect this going forward. They're gonna try to race cast more and more now. Even though Matt Mercer is voicing a character and he's white as snow.

Not just that. All of these 40 and under actors have absolutely no range. It is gross.
LA residents have no accent, I swear. There's no way to distinguish voices between people anymore, all these big cities are so homogeneous. It's almost kinda telling that 4KIDS and Central Park Media, despite being centered in New York, they had only a few VAs in their pool who actually had any type of New York accent, but they still managed to get a diverse cast with distinct voices. No two VAs sounded alike, but they potentially could imitate each other if needed be.

Think part of the problem is newcomers are being discouraged from making funny voices because you could be offensive, and it's being "au naturale" is what'll get you famous because a lot of famous voice-actors hardly change their tone, they just sound that unique—and it's because they are unique, and they're aware of it. That's why they make a living speaking into the microphone because it allows them to put on disguises without using makeup effects and all that.

I think the mid-Atlantic accent has also started dying out, and that's why you're not getting "exotic" gravelly voices anymore. The southern drawl isn't being implemented as much if only because young people don't naturally have it like the older generations do. Northwest Pacific has been taken over by scum who just want to scream at you instead of sounding pleasant. And good luck getting some aging potato farmer from not being all mushmouthed into the microphone.

We have honestly lost some real amazing talent within a few generations.

Acting trying to sound alike or act alike is very difficult, especially when playing or voicing different characters. It's damn near impossible to approach a different vocal range

Literally everyone in the Trails and Persona 5 cast have no range. Erica Lindbeck, Erika Harlatcher, Kira Buckland, Xander Mobus (you can do deep voices but bruh that nasal cavity doesn't help sorry but also lol wendee lee attack you), Chiplock, pedophile Daman Mills, Laura Post, the faggot who plays Ash Carbide, etc. They all suck compared to people like Lani Minella, Crispin Freeman, Veronica Taylor, Lisa Ortiz, Yuri Lowenthal, etc.

I would say thank fuck they started getting Texas VA production but if Engage is any indication they can't do more than one voice.

4Kids, Liquid Violet, and Ocean Group >>>>>>>>>>>> every LA studio

This is..........odd. considering the 30 year age difference

It’s so unremarkable. At least the voice actors of the early 2000s are recognizable and diversify. This new generation of voice acting is stale and uninspiring. I can’t recall getting interested over any new talent in the past decade or so doing a voiceover for a game or anime or something.

Jonah Scott is the only new talent I actually like, and he could potentially fall prey to the clique any day now.

Doing a slow rewatch of Pokémon with the hubby, and I knew in the middle of episode eight, Eric Stuart replaced Ted Lewis as James, I just had forgotten he made the attempt to imitate Ted for it. It's been a question I've had for ages, but did we ever find out why it was Ted stopped being James' dub actor so soon? Nathan Price at least held on as Meowth until about episode 30/31, though that reasoning was never given, either.

Pay? Idk.

There's a recent video of Chris Patton. As you can see he looks....incredibly pozzed. He officially is done with VA work to direct theater in Houston. I know he's got health issues but yikes. Thats a hard looking 51
(Unfortunately attachments are being fickle)

This thread was recommended to me and I just got to reading but fuck me, Twitter is the worst fucking thing that happened to Western VAs. It's kinda crushing to watch a lot of these people whose work I enjoy be such political spergs.

Slight PL but I happen to have a friend who's a giant fan of Fred Tatasciore and I'm not sure what to tell her in case he turns out to be a giant asshole too.

This is also the case with almost every other celeb. They rot their brains with bias and manipulation from social networking sites and the rest of the left-wing news outlets

He was, but he toned it down a nudge.

Yep, there was one of the people I followed who had one of his OWN followers's send him all the people that followed Ted Lieu on that guy's end. There were recognizable names there, so I checked their Twitter's. All of them were sperging about politics and Trump. Names I remember who followed him(and acted like him) were(and even I got into bitchfights with some of them)

Everything was just them Jerking with their favorite celebrity friend or liberal comedian or jumping to the worst possible things about some negatively skewed article about Trump's doings, Other Republican Politicians, Right-wing voters, Gun owners, etc.
Some still do it, some have stopped.

But that negative beam that shot at all of those Va's took me aback.
