Going back to a comment I made months ago, I genuinely think if you want to become a public figure, you NEED PR training because fucking hell. Being an English, LA-residing dub actor is one of the only jobs I know of where you can say wild shit and still not get reprimanded. Gotta love how Corina Boettger even admitted to scabbing, but then their friends backed them up because "ermmmmm they've got Autism, they're actually pretty cool. I'll let that slide." There's a weird cult of personality around American VAs who do dub work for shows and games. A culture of people gassing up the worst voice actors and actresses known to mankind because they recognize them from something on the Internet. A lot of people don't like dubs for quality. They like some girl from the internet that they're a fan of who does terrible voice acting. The only thing worse for dubbing in America than it becoming a cliquey scene where handfuls of the same people get hired for doing the same "zany" "high-energy" voices they've done for years has been letting "influencers" and E-celebs become VAs.
 
I'm very glad their little clique is unraveling. Now if only Sean Chiplock and Daman Mills could face actual consequences for being pedophiles it would be a wonderful era.
 
I can't remember if its in his thread but he was at a furry con and two girls whacked him (?) and he cried to security he was assaulted.

Also Wendee Lee is going to be in the same show as the chick she threw out of Bleach for taking Yoruichi from her. The dub industry is nuts.

Wendee Lee is losing steam. She's bitter and jealous she isn't getting top tier roles anymore. That being said the Indian girl involved in the controversy with her is shrill in the Trails games.

The only decent VA's that I know of, off the top of my head, that aren't involved in that Genshit drama and are otherwise chill are as follows:
Jim Cummings, Tress MacNellie, Lani Minella, Frank Welker, Scott Menville, Wendy Schaal, Dave Fennoy, Cree Summer, Khary Payton, Peter Cullen, Dawnn Lewis, Kate Higgins, Veronica Taylor, Keith Silverstein, Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt, Cindy Robinson, Grey Deslile, April Stewart, Kari Wahlgren, EG Daily, Simon Templeman, Lauren Tom, Kelly Hu, Jodi Benson, Ming Na Wen, Phil LaMarr, Will Friedle, James Hong, Jean Gilpin, April Winchell, Bridget Hoffman, and Tzi Ma in addition to most UK based voice talent.

The only decent VA's that I know of, off the top of my head, that aren't involved in that Genshit drama and are otherwise chill are as follows:

Notice how they're all mostly older and veteran voice actors? The current crop of actors (read: under 40) cannot hold a candle to these pros in every sense of the word. Nowadays its all sjw this pronoun that race swap race play blah blah bullshit.

I almost immediately assume that every celebrity/micro/e-celeb spends his/her free time bithcing about politics, like the Motherfucker who voices sanji all he does is bitch about trump supporters, takes pictures of them and thier houses but half of that is on him… he lives in texas. Being a liberal is fine you can express politics but the man is possesed by the shit. Be a vocal coach or something tell a story about how you got to play shigaraki or some shit Show off an accolade.

People who don't bitch and moan about political shit online are an endangered species. If the worst some veteran VA ever does is go on twitter/bluesky to make some eye-rolling tweet about how fascism isn't cool, then whatever. Compared to race-spergs like ProZD, or Chiplock (allegedly) commissioning hentai of his fursona, those other guys aren't even a blip on the radar for me.
