Not unexpected. I'm still salty about them locking national flags behind a paywall thanks to ass-mad Russians going on TK sprees on anyone with a Ukraine flag following the Crimean invasion.

Well I got some spicy shit going on.

It turns out on Reddit, the playerbase is slowly having Chinese Wolf Warriors literally ramming and teamkilling others who are against China, including video footage of someone getting killed due to a Taiwanese flag. The mods also locked a thread related to the recent WT video on Youtube, due to racism and xenophobia. Also, Gaijin said they are not interested in politics but actively hired GMs who ban those in support of Taiwan and Hong Kong and reddit caught eye on this.

Oh and to make it even better, a Leclerc leak happened.

Also just delete the china tree its literally all foreign tanks until rank IV-V and its just imitations of Soviet tanks there

Now for the reason I came here; I've been playing on and off since 2017 but this summer I got really hooked and grinded the Germans up to rank IV in the tank tree:

Im pretty tired of it because of the high repair costs, so I switched to USSR and last month, I switched to the US;

What tree should I go ahead with? USA or USSR? Because im absolutely not grinding Germany ever again, its ass-cancer every single game. I hate the early USSR plane line so I've kind of grinded the US tree nonstop for 2-3 weeks

Don't do US. This game actively shits on the American tree at just about every opportunity. Everytime you finally find a lineup that is enjoyable it will get nerfed. Germans get the most br handouts, but Russian tanks are usually favored in actual game mechanics.

This. Look at the Tiger II (P) at 6.3 and then at the 76mm Jumbo, also at 6.3, and tell me the game is the least bit balanced. Same with the Panthers being on-par with the Easy Eight.

The updates for the Jumbo are more than a bit fucked. US is fun at lower tiers and has some of the best CAS. 8.0 is a great US tier with the T54E1 and M901 and AH1G.

I'm a rank 100 high level player who takes out a light tank at almost every br's and ends up with enough SP for a 2nd plane spawn. I play a mix of Germany, USA, USSR, UK, Japan ground and air and even some Naval, and a lil Sweden and Italy. If you play in a squad/with a bunch of mates, take out a swarm of M22's or Stuarts and tell me don't do US. You fucking commie America haters.

God, I hate the Wehraboos. Anything that can penetrate the turret front needs to be at least 7.3 for whatever reason. Never mind its tiny and that conical mantlet eats rounds like its nobody's business...

Eh, tanks were a lot better until we went to cold war and later. I'd say planes also have less hard countering issues than tanks have, so the balance matters a lot more on the ground.

Too bad gaijin only seems to use average win rate to do the balancing.

The game should have never advanced past early Korea shit, really.

That being said, they've always used win rate to balance. US .50 cals have gone through so many buffs and nerfs over the years.

Yup, The push to negate armor was a huge downfall. Having armor lets someone actually make a play without being immediately punished for it. I joined a few 10.0 matches (played the T29 enough to actually unlock the US tree that far, lol) and it was the most BORING experience I've ever seen. Everyone just hides because missiles and endgame ammo have such insane kill potential.

It's what World of Tanks turned into, where everyone just camps waiting for the other team to make the 1st fuckup.

I rarely bother with the tasks or the battlepass, I just play for fun with mates or to pass the time when I'm bored and keep my squad activity up, which is often JU288c air rb. I don't care about the meta or the grind, SRB is a helluva lot of fun with the right guys but I can't be fucked with it. You guys have obviously played enough, you know what you get, it's like an abusive relationship if you let it get to you, it's not fun it becomes like a chore.

Eh, I tried RB a few times. Just wasn't my thing. I came over from playing a bunch of WoT back in its better days, so AB is what I went with.

It's a much more fun experience with another person, that's for sure. My brother used to play back when it 1st came out, but that's about it. Once in a blue moon someone who also did good in a match would message me and we'd play some games.

RB is really the only way to play imo. Sim has sucked in WT for a number of years and I never found AB fun. I come from a flight sim background though. Fuck, I remember when RB was calling Historical Battles.

One guy was a jagdpanther player I was having a bit of a cat n' mouse match with in the T29. I ended up winning the match, but he put a pretty big dent in our team. Had a fun chat afterwards and played a few rounds. I like the mixed nation play of AB, everyone can play what they have fun in on the same group.

My time of actively seeking to play has kind of ended though. Last big thing I did was play the battle pass season to get that 105mm m6 (what an awful tank, but Im a sucker for US heavies). Jumped on a couple nights ago hoping that the 7.0 king tiger made 7.0 the new 6.7 for my T29.......nope. still t55s, Leo's, and bmps.

Yeah there's a massive official discord with a random squad up channel. You will get responses pretty much instantly, just post what nation/br you wanna play and your IGN.

There's a lot of wankers and spergy kids like in any game but you will find some pretty interesting peeps. If you really delve into the War Thunder rabbit hole there's squadron realistic battles. 8v8 games with only one spawn, it's not e-sports ready but the proper co-ordination and camaradie is very nice. I'm just in a squadron for grinding the vehicles and people to play with, we dont do SRB, just the casual 4x squad ups into rb games and a lot of shit talk - keks.
