Warhammer 40k

Easy fix for all of this. Bring back allies.

I hear you at the back. The tournament autist complaining about some obscure combo or some lore inaccurate team up. That's an easy fix too.

Here's how you do it in three sentences.. And in the unlikely event GW is taking ideas from an internet nobody, you're free to steal it.

"All units under the same umbrella (imperium, xenos, chaos) can ally. Allies must be 50% or less than the game point value. Allies cannot be used in competitive tournaments."

There are edge cases. Tau should have a special rule where they can ally with any imperium force, for example. As for lore. If you really care even the slightest about the fiction, then no-one is going to choose an orc-nid alliance.
It's been done before, and even as recently as the Arks of Omen narrative thing toward the end of 9th. No one cared about it. Here's the one from 6th/7th edition

Here's the rules from the arks of omen narrative thing at the end of 9th

Yes your idea is more "open" than either, but really no one ever really gave a shit. There's a ton of fluffy narrative driven missions, campaigns, asymmetric stuff, random warp storm effects, all kinds of shit within White Dwarf, crusade books, narrative series, etc. Even the 500 worlds thing and the newly revealed maelstrom thing has a bunch of narrative shit in there... that'll never get played because no one wants to buy this stuff and even when it's freely available on waha... still no one ever bothers with it.

I will say, a few times 3rd party models do walk circles around GW, I recall one company that sells some very good Necron (including Necron girl bots) and Tau models with the later havin a more samurai vibe to em
You goon to female Necrons wow what a self felt, fucking gooners like you are killing the franchise.
Gonna be like D&D or M:tG in 5 years. Should've gatekept harder. It's 40Kover and the genestealer cults won.
Better to be devoured by the Tyranids than embrace this Slanneshi trannny death cult.

A lot of armies need to be squished or merged, I feel. Whatever is happening to monogod factions at the moment is a disaster.
I can see some armies being merged with internal barriers via detachments. CSM and Elves are good candidates. But its probably easier to just spin everyone off. Also more money in selling more codexes.

Monogods could be easily fixed if they had it as a general rule that they can take 50% of their army as their corresponding gods daemons. Then they can make 1-3 daemon detachments that remove the 50% cap and give them an interaction.

For example in a 2k game. EC can take up to 1k slaaneshi daemons no matter what. In the daemon detachments there is no 1k cap. First detachment is a bonus when in a radius to each other (current detachment). In the next daemon detachment, EC characters provide a bonus to daemons in a radius (combat bonus) and/or can attach to units. In the last detachment, daemon characters provide a bonus to EC in a radius (movement bonus) and/or attach to units.

At the very least they should do the points cap idea. The detachments are just me throwing something out there.

No one cared about it.
I care. Though I'm still salty Tau lost their human units. Especially in this age of third party minis. I miss people putting fire warrior heads on guard or space marines.

It could also fix the weak "points per dollar" armies. Admech suddenly get a lot more viable as a collection if you can throw a knight in there. The armigurs even come with admech panels in the kit.

I could go on but I won't.

Those charts are insane though. I can see why they exist, but there's no need for it, or there shouldn't be a need for it.

Delusional nonsense that you've developed in your mind from sticking yourself in echo chambers for too long. Every new release sells out immediately, every single one lmao and so will this one and GW's profits will only continue to expand as they've continued to do while guys like you spend years swearing it won't happen. I'm sorry man but you really don't have a view of the world that reflects reality.

The actual 40k community that owns models, paints them and plays in public is mostly made up of reasonable people and not pol-scrollers and e-right wingers who spend their days huffing and puffing over the new "woke" thing. We just don't care and never did, the community only grows every year.
Well you spent months defending this "woman"

So I can believe you have a personal stake in defending female custodes

I'm not saying you shouldn't care. The chart from 6th/7th basically lets you do whatever you want, just justify it narratively. It doesn't even say that nids and guard can't ally, it's just that they'd only do it in the apocalypse, or whatever scenario you can come up with. But... no one ever cared.

WD has tons of shit in it that should be posted on warcom for free to encourage more people to do narrative shit, but they refuse to get it from behind their archaic magazine paywall or campaign books.

Mario Kart style chariot races in AoS? Yeah that's been done. No one played it.
Codexes don't have enough encouragement to paint "your dudes"? 27 page spread in issue 515(I think?) about making your own space marine chapter, where they came from, how they fight, and tons of examples of staff homebrew chapters with pictures and lore to encourage people to do their own shit, people still claim GW doesn't want people doing "their own dudes".
Want rules for 3-4 players for Kill Team, Combat Patrol, etc? Yeah they exist, no one bothers.
Narrative rules to run Space Marines, Eldar, Orks, and Tyranids kind of like versions from previous editions of the game including templates, but made compatible with 10th? Yeah, this shit exists, will probably never be played.

As far as admech and knights, they can already do that. within the core rules(albeit in a limited way). 3 armigers or a big knight including all of the FW shit like a 700 point porphyrion. All imperial factions can do this, so can all chaos factions. Admech also has a detachment specifically for knights that even provides better support for them as part of their army.

Outside of a short stint of people taking Canis Rex, almost no one bothers... because they don't care.

CSM as a whole needs to be redone. Frankly, so do imperial agents. Fold grey knights and death watch into Imperial Agents and the monogod legions into a larger CSM banner, or at least make them overlap. Why exactly cant I run whatever combination of chaos forces that I want? Its gay bullshit. For that matter, why cant I run mixed forces? Why cant I take a retinue of guard with my knights, or mix my space marine chapters or some shit. It would be, dare I say... cool.

He's basically made himself a large gue'vasa force. Just fucking do it.
Something something backlog finishing Urbana mercenaries for Mazon Labs force and then I got a whole box of Zombicide: Invader to do, Chaos cultists for Killteam solo, THEN WGA zombie survivors and soldiers, ect...

Yea, it's gonna be awhile.

I feel pretty black pilled on Warhammer 40k lore. Games Workshop is writing fan fiction. They are terrified of writing anything of substance. They're not being slick when they appeal to the unreliable author. It's obvious they don't want to sit down and hammer out a true world bible. They want to license the IP to whatever slop factory and if they ever change their mind on something they just retroactively call it non-canon. They wrote themselves into M42 and then turned around to say "nu uhh!! actually time is non-canon AND non-deterministic". It's so shallow and so obvious.

>Stupid chud, didn't we tell you that nothing we write matters!?

Maybe you could have told me before I read a bunch of your pulp slop.

Daemons are not living creatures. Each one of them is a facet of a Dark God’s power and nature. They are semi-independent, but ultimately they are only fragments of a greater whole. The mortal servants of Chaos are also slaves to the Dark Gods, their minds and bodies are twisted by the Warp, but they can still make decisions, hope, dream, and despair. They can plot and betray. That mortal independence, ultimately, is what makes the Gods crave their souls.

So where does that leave Kairos Fateweaver? Tzeentch wanted to look into the Well of Eternity but would not risk to go himself, so sent one of his Daemons, which is actually part of him… and now Kairos Fateweaver knows more of the future than Tzeentch himself, while existing as part of him. How does that work?

The answer is that it doesn’t. It makes no sense – because that would mean that Tzeentch both knows all of the future and past and does not. It means that part of him is, in one way, more powerful than the rest of him.

And that’s fine.

It’s fine because the story of Kairos Fateweaver, and the Well of Eternity, is just that; it is a story told about something mortal minds cannot understand, and can only describe through metaphor. The Well of Eternity is just a name. There is no hole in the middle of a fortress that does not exist that goes down for ever. Tzeentch does not literally listen to his Daemons. All these things are just skins that are pulled over a part of the vast, intangible malevolence of the Warp. The truth really cannot be known.

How cool is that?

PS.
>Stupid chud, didn't you know there was always female custodes?
It's retarded, it's shallow, they're not slick.

John French is the inbred limey cunt who was responsible for all the Imperial Fists nonsense in HH 2.0, looks like a mutant and I felt guilty after donating the unreadable Ahriman omni to my local library. His books are the worst and Slaves to Darkness was only readable because there was no lame loyalist content asking the question of “What’s Lokken doing?”

“Daemons aren’t sentient,” that’s funny.

Nigga, the funniest Warhammer story has Xantine fucking one and she cucks him for a younger stud who’s a sub-brick IQ retard. That not only requires independent thought but also personality. Lord of Excess is truly the greatest piece of Warhammer fiction.
