Warhammer 40k

This talk of broken miniatures reminds me I still have to fix my Farsight Enclaves and Iron Warriors that were damaged a few months ago...

That aside, I had a funny thought. If GW ever wants be rid of the Imperium's "fascist" moniker, they should create a new human/ai faction which is truly fascist.
Then make them hate the Imperium for having a decentralized and relatively egalitarian government, along with possessing a pluralistic society. Where as the fascists are hypercentralized to a fault, and hold disdain for other humans over cultural differences. Make them all space-Italians to really rub it in home.

Another fun Rogue Trader story is Lure of the Expanse, where you seek a treasure drove, going for places like a jungle world with shuttle sized dragonflies, Vaporius, where psykers rule through the control of the water, and the Procession of the Damned, a Dark Star singularity of around there are only a gigantic wreck field and some weird beings on void suits who remain silent and were never captured alive.

The best part is that it got a generic asian named person (Sun Lee) from a Dynasty called Ma'Kao. Classic Warhammer right there.

Reminds me of one guy saying that the Imperium would likely hate a fascist society, for the singular problem of them being officially revolutionary, where the average Imperial wants the galaxy to remain static forever.

Well, you had the Dulanians, who are arguably the strongest human faction they found during the Crusade, who required 2 legions to be taken off thanks to their extremely advanced tech, their military force was literally called Faash.

One reason I loved the RPGs as a way to get into the setting was little gems like this:

Rogue Trader - Stars of Inequity

You just won't see things like this in novels or rulebooks.
I can top that, 8th edition CSM codex

Planetary uprising AGAINST Chaos corrupted elites (based) and it was going well, until they completed a ritual in the Hive centre and an army of Chaos Space Marines emerged from the ritual and turned the tide, sealed head to toe in armor leaking oily liquid, they took extreme punishment even by the standards of chaos space marines.

"Call with all your soul, little one. Call and we shall answer!"
-Warcry of the Cleaved.

Summoned Nurgle marines who answer calls to punish the just, that’s cooler than anything you could find in a BL book and helps with thinking up /yoududes/.

Yeah, there are a ton of Codex stuff that just wont ever be adapted because BL isnt interested. Biel-Tan won a war without suffering a single loss and you are telling me this never got any adaptation?

>Warpsmith comes with an oval base instead of a Terminator base
REEEEEE and such
a warpsmith is not a cavalry wtf r u doing.jpg

Between reading textbooks and the like, I rarely make time to do personal reading so I've been slowly chipping away at Horus Rising, and I've gotta say I loved chapter five focusing on the perspective of the remembrancer Ignace Karkasy. It creates a great somber undertone to the reality of seeing a freshly conquered world, with the titan looming over as he delved deeper into the city's ruin. And as he's beaten down by imperial guards, Loken is ascended in the mournival. Pretty neat

Libshit cuck deserved it. Don’t bite the hand that feeds.

I need to reread the first three books in the Horus Heresy, they were great

( Alright I'm going to post a reply to stuff from forever ago, because I've had it saved and I'm tired at looking at it)

Uh, what will they add? Hekkin non imperium humans?
There's a small amount of interesting alien factions that don't officially have models, with kickass lore

The Rak'Gol are in rogue trader and they are pretty well developed as a murderous savage multi armed race. They have ship model's and everything so they actually have a decent chance to get in.

There's also the khrave

Basically giant psychic vampires that use humans as livestock. They existed as a major enemy in the great crusade and still exist in 40k.

If they are particularly adventurous they could adapt the Nicassar, a race of giant bears. Although they don't have official designs and are minor allies of the tau. There's not many civilized independent alien factions they could add that aren't already aligned with the tau. It's pretty much an unspoken rule that their protection racket is the only way to survive humanity's attention.

I am both glad and sad they will never make more stuff about the rangda.
Dont be so sure. I can see in like 10-20 years they do a tabletop of the Great Crusade.

40k -> 30k -> Great Crusade (2040) -> Unification Wars (2060) etc

Eventually they'll build lore to create the setting then sell you thr minis. Its honestly a great scam because the material could have dozens of Xenos races which are all new models to the players so its pure sales. Only Marines would be 30k models shifted over.

Just finished building the stupid Dreadnought. It's almost 2 am, and I started the damn thing at 8. I put pieces on wrong, had to try and fix it, and still got the pose wrong. I am not buying one of these in a box anymore, I'm pretty sure I'm just going to stick to buying prebuilt vehicles or large models from now on, because that shit was not fun.

Yeah once you get outside of infantry type stuff, you really have to spend your time scraping mold lines so parts will fit correctly, dry-fitting sometimes multiple parts together with poster putty, and so on. Really can't rush things.

It is a shame GW decided to silently drop the Ynnari, because they could make a comedy book with the fact that the Grey Knights' 4th Brotherhood is hunting them down.

Basically, make a cat and mouse chase where both sides predict the other predicting their movements, in the end, they didn't even met the other and just gave up.

I remember reading somewhere that some topics really are off limits to be built upon beyond vague references, like the lost primarchs. I also do not really see them doing another big faction that could not be slotted into one of the already big groups, but that is a bit up in the air imo since im not really sure how popular votan was as a faction.

You will learn how to pace yourself soon enough. The good thing about boxes is that they give you a lot of bits for other projects you might have. I have a chaos dreadnought half built for the same reason tho, they really take a lot of work.
