Warhammer 40k

You dont see people crying about Catachans who always had black people and even females in their ranks becasue that was the 90s (Although while Catachans are respected I do not think they really crack most guardfags top 5 lists for not really being that grimdark)
The Catachans were/are also a weird mix of various action movie tropes. Part Rambo, part Predator, part general Vietnam flick, and having a black dude around to represent Carl Weathers and his role in the world's manliest handshake is fine. You also have Alien with Ellen Ripley and Vasquez, so again, chicks kicking ass is fine so long as they actually look the part and aren't 5' waifs taking down Andre the Giant with their bare hands like Hollywood has them do these days.

TBF Catachans are all 80s and 90s action hero stereotypes, and these include blacks and the odd woman, so it fits for Catachans. What I don't get is why no-one tried making a SM Chapter from these badasses.

I think women trying to be action heroes is funny and I’m gonna laugh at it every time.

I laugh at female soldiers IRL and I laugh at female soldiers in fiction. Because the idea is absurd and always will be.

For all we know, maybe multiple chapters farm them and becoming astartes/undergoing the indoctrination techniques overtakes their natural "Catachanity"? You don't see many Space Marines in tank tops and headbands, but who knows. Could be that a homebrew chapter army with a Catachan flavor would fucking rule. Or maybe being a space marine means you wouldn't really notice their background and upbringing.

Honestly, I think they probably tried and the process just didn't play nice with them and their biology.

I laugh at female soldiers in fiction.
Laugh all you like, monkey boy, the Sisters of Silence, female Guard, and the Soriatas are way more interesting and cool than the Spehs Muhrines will ever be. I'll die on this hill, body with a dead man switch and a suicide vest.

I would have bought two of those Custodes boxes if I could sell some of my older models and I knew whats 40k for sure.

I dont give a fuck about femstodes because I stick a helmet on them anyway. But the taller, slimmer sculpts are nice. Not spending money on shit sent to 30k where i dont play though.

It couldn't be out of the question that a genecrafted female custode would be the perfect envoy of peace to a planet who use their knowledge and looks to combat politically
So many things I want to say here, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

Femstodes are funny because its just scraping the bottom of the barrel, GW had long used the stormcasts as a way to more or less have fem space marines in some form or another but they saw an opening on a faction very few people gave a shit and most just used as a way to get into the hobby for pennies. And again, they pulled them out of their ass when the Guard, the Inquisition, Xenos like the Tau and Eldar, etc, had plenty of women who were liked and plenty of lore only characters who deserved sculpts. But they did the absolutely beautiful 1-2 punch of dropping femstodes in a fucking twitter post, during a time when nobody liked playing them in their increasingly autistic and loud comp scene. And then they shortly revealed the tangentially related terminus decree that was absolutely the most retarded piece of lore they shat out. Only to end it all by finally dropping the long supposedly canned sculpts to no fanfare because its for a game system that got a massively polarizing new release.

I think I remember that shortly after femstodes they released a bit of lore about the Eldar that pissed off the super special snowflakes because it implied anyone could mantle an Eldar because of some magic shit, I'm pretty sure that was dropped quickly but I remmber seeing the chud shadenfreude when they dropped that in a very similar way to how they forced in the custode thing and elicited similar responses

Touch a nerve?

You’re trying to bait me. You called them “Sororitas” not Sisters, you’re a secondary. Get the fuck out.

The fucking what? And I don't mean just because you spelled it wrong. Sisters, they are the sisters of battle. SoB. Not the fucking Trademarkius Sororitas.

I'll have you know that "Put grandpa back on his chair" is the best prank ever from Malcador, forcing the grey knights to fight their way through the heart of the imperium, the custodes, sisters of silence shutting off their special snowflake powers, titans, etc. to force the emperor back onto the throne in the event he somehow ascends to godhood.

Look man, its all cool. Those hulking chicks with the five o'clock shadow are totally women. No way would the Ecclesiarchy ever dream of violating the Decree Passive by maintaining men under arms.

He said make a reason for why they could exist not defend it
I like the idea that the custodies are these sort of wise warrior poets who a lot of depth to them and are capable of many things, but making them smooth operators/courtiers capable of political intrigue just isn't it.

I just wish that genuinely sexist pricks would catch a case of terminal crotch rot, that's all.

Awww, you're a charmer.

Lemmie think about it....

Ehh, I've seen the pics of Catachan women. Muscle mommies, yea, but no bearded ladies...

On the other hand, a grey eminence who could crush steel with his bare hands sounds hilarious. But that'd beg the question why they aren't ruling themselves.

It's a good question to ask even now, it never crossed my mind and I don't think it did the writers either. Why not eliminate any possible threat to the emperor including poor decisions by leadership? Just become the leadership. I wish we could go back to the days where they were simply secret service with power armor, but people like them as they are.

I've never owned a space marine army and I've never been a big fan of them and I have to say that this kind of take is either rage bait or is simply contrarian.

I'd argue the factions or armies with out any kind of female presence are far more interesting than any of the ones that do.

The Tallarn dressing their women in burkas and hiding them under the surface of the planet is much more interesting than Cadia treating men and women equal, gender integration is far too common in modern 40k to be considered interesting. Making tithe with out sending women into the meat grinder is pretty cool imo.

One of my many, many autistic theories is that Catachan was the homeworld of one of the Lost Primarchs and as such the Emperor declared it off limits to the other Primarchs which eventually became just another unsaid and unwritten rule for the later Chapters (as for the other Lost Primarch homeworld I'm actually betting San Leor, the OG home of the Sororitas, which kinda ties in to my other autistic theory that Goge Vandire was legit inspired/possessed by a shard of the Emperor that had gone batshit insane which is why he randomly selected a cult on a seemingly backwater world and quickly turned them into a millions strong Astartes-Lite force with boobies)

I've thought about this a lot, and there's really no way to make the Terminus Decree make sense. It's like you said, the resistance they'd face trying to pull this off would be astronomical. And that's not even touching on Big E Himself.
It's just dumb. No thought was put into it.

How incredibly bold and courageous.

You didn’t deny being a no models faggot secondary.

Well it's even dumber since the "terminus level" weapon that was also stashed on Titan by order of Malcador with the Grey Knights was the fucking anti astartes plague made by Basilio Fo, which would actually make more sense as a terminus decree, was written and released before the fucking codex with the stupid prank version written in it.

Also, of course that poster above is another fucking tourist.

Anyway. From the image of the preview for the preview...
