Primaris now get black rage.
From what I can see we are only getting grounded ones in two flavors, a bolt pistol and chain sword one and a sword and shield guy. I'm on mobile and their website sucks ass so I might be missing something.
I'd bet the sword and shield guys are going to be their own unit. 3 for $60, the shields give some sort of invulnerable save aura.
The assault intercessors are going to be 10 for $60, given a bolter with assault or a bolt pistol and the sergeant will have the options to replace the gun with a plasma pistol and replace the chainsword with the usual melee options.
Based on the current rules, an assault intercessor is going to have 4 attacks on the charge. That's nasty, but with the 6" move and lack of transport options, they won't be good as offensive melee units. I could see them ripping through tyranids and orks with ease, as the Emperor intended.
Overall, I am interested to see how 9th edition will go. I like that they changed command points; everyone gets an equal amount at the beginning and can spend points to add different armies to your list. Yay for cutting down on soup!
The other thing that interests me is the crusader system. It's designed to build up your army over a series of battles, which helps alleviate the expensiveness of 40k by spreading out purchases over time. Everyone wants to get those big 2000 point games, but that takes time and money. GW designs a game system which encourages slowly building up an army and developing a narrative with friends. GW still gets the same amount of money and the customer feels positive with each purchase.
