where are my empire lads at?

The word Ultramarines appears seven times in their own piece of introductary fluff, that's a 7:3 ratio with their own name...

Is there anyone in the hobby that isn't sick of this Ultramarines wankery or should Rowboat Girlyman just be written in as the new god emperor already?

Imagine if the alpha legion ran gay ops on discord.

They are Discord.

I'm a noob to the hobby, but Baldemort brought something to my attention:

The original Space Marine posterboys were not the Ultramarines, but were the Crimson Fists?
1st Edition Rule Book.jpg

The image was carried over to second edition:
2nd Edition.jpg

3rd edition had the Black Templars, but they were still Sons of Dorn nontheless:

But in third edition, the encroachment of the Ultrasurfs had already began:

As you can see, the art is of the Crimson Fists but the models are of the Ultramarines.

Ultramarines are the face of the brand, but everyone else did the fun shit. Bring back the Imperial Fists and their Pain Glove ffs.

I've been around since late RT early 2nd and i have to point out that the the 2nd ed. boxedset that the 2nd ed. rulebook came in had this on the front:

Spacemarine "epic" scale had this:

Then the rerelease Epic 40k had this:

All from around the same timeframe roughly, the point being that spacemarines have always been the the posterboys but from around probably 4th or early 5th GWs obsession with the blueboys has become... joke worthy, but it was never funny.

Finally god some of the new artwork out of GW is awful, especially from the warhammer community page.

I think it stings more because the Ultramarines are the oatmeal of space marine. Literally any other legion(chapter) would be more interesting as the "main" marines.

Makes sense. If there's one chapter more drab, boring and devoid of character than the smurfs, is the damn imperial fists.
You take that back mother fucker, YOU TAKE IT BACK.

They at least have a solid set of successor chapters like the black templars. Ever hear about a particularly interesting ultramarine chapter?(no because they are deliberately numerous and soul-less.) They also at least have a somewhat interesting rivalry with the iron warriors. The ultramarine's rivals are the alpha legion, we both know how one sided and autistic that is by nature.

Well this happened:

Now before we go all on about GW bending the knee, I found this:

Rate me optimistic, but I believe GW knows that this is all performative bullshit. They haven't called fans nazis or said that they are going to donate to a BLM slush fund. I've only seen them release this on their social media pages and then have gone right back to promoting the hobby.

Let's just stand back and watch the inevitable shit-flinging between Arch Warhammer and Sigmarxism over who can be the most worst type of Warhammer fan.

By interesting, you mean the Iron Cage incident: An act of trolling turned into a pissing contest that was so epic, that Smurfs came by to stop the slapfight.
