Holding the line, perfected.

He made the mistake of saying that he used the Green Stuff World Tentacle Maker to sculpt the tentacles. Wrong answer, take it off the table.
Green stuff should be alright even if you got something to help with the sculpting. That's like banning someone who used a rounded sculpting tip to smooth out green stuff, it's just a tool. Seems that the person at the store was being an asshole. Happens a lot around here so now there's only one store I bother with and buy all my minis online.
What I want to know is where does this leave Marine players who play anything other than First Founding chapters, Black Templars or Crimson Fists. Do third party decals count?
Currently nothing on decals. Give them time.
Wait until they‘re forced to confront the fact that we all use Army Painter and Vallejo Paints. I’m sure they already know, but eventually someone is going to show up with shiny chrome or color shift necrons.
I use nail polish opal powders and flakes for my wife's Tyranids. You can also use chrome powder overtop of black base coat. Think of it as "weathering" with a weathering powder. Just get one of those sponges they use for nails.

GW was looking for ways to enforce only using their paints but currently it would cost too much to make an app to check for it and get it as accurate as possible and still keep the RGB codes and shit within the company.

By the way, McFarlane Toys should be releasing Adepta Sororitas and Necron Warriors. Both colour and grey scale versions. BBTS currently have them in stock. Flayed Ones are pre-order.

Can you fucking imagine?

"Hey sorry Fluhre, these Ultramarines are clearly using Vallejo Ultramarine 70.839 and not Citdael(r) brand Macragge Blue(tm), which is a clear 0.05% difference in saturation. I'm gonna have to ask you to leave, but before you go, would you like to see our cans of Macragge Blue(tm) brand Citadel(r) Spraypaints so you can avoid such a costly error in the future?"

"Also I see that you painted these shoulderpads in a different style than our "'Eavy Metal(tm)" team did, I'll let it go with only a minor command point penalty but I expect you to properly adhere to the box art before the next tournament, thanks."

Doesn't surprise me these idiots know nothing about blending and mixing. Yeah good luck enforcing citadel paint system that asks you to use no less than 67 different pots of paint for one model.

What? Are they gonna do random checks with a mass spectrometer? I’m sure there was a bunch of people shit posting on the Warhammer cafe page a couple years ago and paints used on minis and it was funny shit.

I love Hobgrots. Their helmets, their grenades, their distinctly un-proppa yellow skin.

I'm just glad we're not at the stage where they do pre-painted miniatures to try and draw in "casual gamers."

Kinda halfass expected something like Heroclix to come out by now. A Killteam-Heroclix type setup.
Oh good lord no. The only company i’ve seen have decent pre painted minis was fantasy flight games. I’d honestly expect them to put stickers with the easy to build kits so people don’t have paint them.

With how much GW wants to fuck over their official tournament scene I'm amazed they haven't made rules on what each army can look like in terms of paint schemes. If pre-painted plastic wasn't so expensive to produce they would force you to use those instead.

Luckily we have non-Official Warhammer tournaments out there to go to that aren't sponsored by GW. Only reason to get a sponsorship is either cheaper products for awards or free products. It's not like WotC and their DCI number and rankings. Around here, tournaments for $30. More than enough to pay for stuff and make a profit.

There's going to be A LOT of sigmarines on ebay next week.
If they’re cheap enough, it might be worth it to pick up a few to make a shit-tier Warcy warband for AI scenarios.

If you can find decent ones for cheap, you can clear-coat them and repaint the parts you don’t like. I’ve done this with some old throwaway d&d minis to make villagers/civilians, hostages, zombie hordes, proxies, etc. I just made a couple of corpse piles for Shadows of Brimstone because I wanted something more substantial than the counters that came in the box.

All of this assumes you can find them for cheap. Ebay seems to be full of people who think that their old bits box is going to help them buy a car.
