Messing around with contrast paints and drybrushing for smoke effects and I like the results so far

Recipe was skeleton horde with plaguebearer flesh blended over raised areas. I then drybrushed over the entire area with Ogryn Camo and the morgast bone over the very front of the smoke. This will definitely be my go to smoke recipe for my death guard army.

It feels like GW hasn't really been touting AoS lately. Perhaps it's because of recent financial stumbles, they're focusing on what really sells. Or maybe they have their plates full with Horus Heresy?

Maybe the Dominion boxset not selling like the indomitus box finally led to someone getting shuffled or canned.

In retrospect, it was silly to expect a set filled with Stormcast (which are divisive among AoS players) and a new, THIRD orc faction to sell like SM and Necrons, both of which are established and well-liked.

Its also super weird because of sigmar is strangely strict with what units you can actually take in whatever subfaction within a subfaction. Like in 40k, sure they might be exceeding to take a bunch of assault marines if you like imperial fists. but there is no restriction. Age of sigmar has a bunch of arbitrary things trying to force you into specific units for whatever subfaction.
THEN they give you a box with a named character in it that no one cares about. and a bunch of subfaction specific units that at the time, no one really knew anything about.
That indomitus box, no matter what chapter or dynasty you played, most of the things in the box were of some use. Or a great way to start a dynasty/ chapter. Can say the same for dominion really.

I’ve seen a couple of websites with Dominion still in stock and it even took GW having a sale to get rid of the stock they had.

All my local stores are still trying to get suckers to buy Dominion with discounts, hasn't worked.
My LGS still has three or four Dominion boxes gathering dust; in contrast, Indomitus was gone almost instantly and I only got one because somebody had pre-ordered a copy and then couldn't pay. Hell, they barely stock AoS at this point; aside from the Dominion copies, they have maybe half a dozen other unit boxes from random factions, and that's it. I don't think they even carry the battletomes anymore.

It would be pretty funny if Sigmar got the end times treatment just before old world is released.

I got Indomitus cause I was bored and hit up the LGS on what I discovered was Indomitus launch day, and the owner had mistakenly put me down for a reservation. Welp, sure, why not?

Dominion I didn't even see at his store. That's the one with the Tumblr Angel Sigmarine, right?

I believe the named Angel died too like perma died so rip

I also suspect old world will allow double dipping into AoS. The new empire models can be used in cities for instance and possibly Cathay and Kislev remnants get introduced into AoS too.

Another book review:
Inferno! Presents: The Inquisition - An anthology of recent short stories about the Inquisition. tl;dr: It's not very good.
I had a lot of fun with Hammer and Bolter omnibus and Space Marine anthologies so I came into the book feeling optimistic, but it's incredibly tedious. Most of the stories are the same "Inquisitor/apprentice get into world, find the McGuffin and fight something, then fuck off. The end". A lot of them feel like prologue to another book (a below average one). And there is just complete misuse of the Inquisition, n order that is infamous for having a ton of factions with their own subfactions who consistently fuck over each other, there are no politicking, insight on the setting or interesting morality in it. At least with the mediocre Space Marine short stories you'd get the flavour of the chapter, here it's the same stern old Inquisitor/optimistic apprentice shtick that feels like it's aping Dan Abnett's work.
The book gets slightly better in the last 3-4 short stories but by then I lost my patience. At least it gives some look at modern GW writing trends and, while there are more women/black people, it doesn't feel patronizing or needs to make them the good guys.

Any recommendation for good WH/40K anthologies?

There's a Deathwatch anthology by Steve Parker that's pretty good, and The Mark of Calth, Legacies of Betrayal, Age of Darkness, and Shadows of Betrayal from the Heresy series are all good.

That would be nice, though I have less than zero interest in Cathay.

If AoS is floundering, that's a shame, because the current game system is much better than 9th Edition. I miss how exciting and fresh 8th Edition felt, until that second SM Codex dropped.

Fuck I just got given even more Marines and Death Watch bits from a guy who is getting married. Looking over the supplement you can do some funky shit with these primaris kill teams huh? 5 man objective secured outriders, 10 man gravis unit of heavy intercessors and eradicators, and 5 man eliminator teams? This is gonna be on a major back burner for me since I gotta get through orks and White scars though.

Stuff only gets worse with each new 9th edition codex released. I have to wonder if they're intentionally bloating it so that 10th will feel like 8th did.
