The CSM Codex is so much good with one huge omission that keeps me from loving it: warbands are gone.

I run the Purge. What do you guys think I should run them as? I'm thinking either Iron Warriors or Night Lords.
I forgot to reply to this.
Now that I've seen the Codex myself, I have to say its absolutely garbage that there isn't a "Build-Your-Own-Warband" section like the Successor Chapters of the Space Marine Codex or even the Genestealer Cults.
For now, run them as Iron Warriors with everything that can be marked have the Mark of Nurgle.

Are you concerned with tournament play and everything being completely legal? Then do as others have suggested and just use the rules for Iron Warriors. They'll work great.

For me, I'm making a Legacy of Kain themed Chaos warband with 3D printing. So I know I won't be going to an actual GW anytime soon with it. So I homebrewed a fusion of Night Lord and Blood Angel stuff. It's just for casual play between friends so I'm not concerned about it being legal or shit like that.

His head looks like an upsized ork head with dreads. It's really distracting.
Also he's apparently a literal angry manlet:

At least he's not Lorgar or Omegon(?) who still are probably barley taller then the average CSM.
Although tbf to the later he is the only traitor primarch who hasn't been turned into a daemon primarch yet,
If Omegon's still alive; GW's been awful coy about his status for a while now. I'm curious if we'll ever see models for Lorgar and Perturabo.

New opinion. The 'eavy metal painting style is making angron look more silly then he is.

Lorgar's Daemon Primarch form is actually known and has been illustrated, but never had a model.
Perturabo's Daemon Primarch form remains unseen.
As for Alpharius/Omegon, I guess it depends if the Black Library gets into The Scouring (I'm sure they will) and we find out if the surviving primarch outlived his supposed demise at Eskrador.

Perturabos form has actually been described in the new storm of iron special edition. He is just a giant obliterator essentially.

If Alpharius Omegon lives he probably hasn't become a daemon, or if he has, has done so in the way that has minimal change to appearance. Him becoming a giant dragonoid would fly in the face of what he does.

He'd be a swarm of demonic insects, numerous yet singular.

If Omegon went the way of the Daemon it would be pretty disappointing. I always envisioned him just leading some medium sized random ass warband that Kickstart the plot of entire novels but never becoming too noticeable.

I would like to think that he used Ekrador to let "Alpharius Omegon" die and cut the Gordian Knot of the Alpha Legion.
It allowed him to accomplish two things: Slip back into anonymity and attempt to salvage what was left his legion by severing the infected bits from each other.
I also believe if he were to re-emerge back into the limelight, he would be decked in armor and weapons of xenos origin that allows him to fight effectively against Chaos Daemons, Necron Lords, Custodes Shield Captains, or even other primarchs.
A mixture of the John Blanch & the HH Alpharius model

how does one get into 40k tabletop as neither an eccentric millionaire nor a crack dealer?
