So, I had a thought not too long ago:
why are there no bits for other subfactions other than the Space Marine Chapters and Legions?
And this extends to the custom bit sellers on sites like Shapeways and Etsy, too.
For example, the Genestealer Cults.
There are sigils, banners, and symbols illustrated for The Bladed Cog, The Hivecult, The Innerwyrm Cult, The Pauper Princes, The Rusted Claw, The Twisted Helix, The Cult of the Four-armed Emperor, The Behemoid Undercult, The Sons of Jormungandr, Cult Hydraic, The Star Kindred, and the Cult of the Blessed Wormlings. Yet, there are no one wanting to accommodate the GSC players in giving their units more of a personality to differentiate them from the generic models and bits GW have available. A transfer sheet alone would do wonders.
I'm sure Harlequin players would kill for some transfers to help with the design of their units (because painting checkers is a pain in the ass).
At least someone have options available for Xeno players.

I've been a fan of templin for a bit now, started with their intergalactic tank video, but as someone with a passing interest in 40k i never once asked why there weren't female space marines, because i know of the sisters of battle. This was such a overt attempt at rage baiting that its worrying, why burn so many bridges just to make 1 video, What's the rationale here?

Every time I hear about female space marines it’s about female representation in 40k. It frustrates me as a female sisters of battle fan. I honestly find it empowering that I can play an army of nuns in power armor and female space marines would just remove that special sparkle.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, this "discussions" have been done and dusted years ago, this is just another lefty bread-tubing shit.

Is Templin even popular? I see his thumbnails from time2time in my feed, but he looks like another lefty faggot, whose idea of "discussion" is blocking everyone, who doesn't agree with him (From his pinned comment under the aforementioned clip):

"Attention Institute Personnel! I’ll be sticking around in the comments section for a while after this video goes live if you’d like me to further elaborate on this position or defend it from your criticism. Because of the framing device used by the Templin Institute, discussing the real world history of the universes we cover can sometimes be difficult, so this will be our and your opportunity to talk about things we otherwise can’t. Civil discussion will always be tolerated, but if your intention is to merely provoke a response, intimidate members of our staff or your comments veer towards any kind of hate speech, you are outttta here. "
He’s some dude that seems to be focused on reading Wikipedia and using his subreddit to help make videos without going any deeper. Given the recent uptick in people talking about female space marines (muscle chick jerk off material for them really) it makes sense some of the other YouTubers with comparable lazy videoes covering basic lore will latch on to that because their Reddit incrowd is feeding them this crap.

Also really feels like there’s this central effort to push this by people who barely know lore or play while saying that anyone who disagrees with not having female space marines is in the minority, also a Nazi while saying the imperium at the bad guys

I feel like ever since the run away hit that was his Greater Terran Union he's been trying to virtue signal as hard as he can to avoid accusations of being a crypto fascist. His second Stellaris playthrough was literally a Space UN led by Africans.

My friend just got into 40k this week and we've been arguing about the relationship between necrons and tyranids. I found this and thought it was funny.

They're getting dragged in the replies, Magos!

Man, is there a push for this shit this week or something? Just people seeing the opportunity to get in some clicks? At least Trovarion is having some fun with it.

The dislike ratio doubled over night.

People crying out for female marines always "conveniently" forget about the rest of the Imperium's armies. If I recall correctly (from a Ciaphas Cain novel), the Imperial Guard has all-female/mixed regiments and they are just as effective as all-male regiments. The Imperial Navy also has female admirals/navigators and what have you.

The Mechanicus has both male and female members, mind you, they don't really consider themselves either, because the flesh is weak and they love fucking toasters.

Not to mention the Inquisition that has agents from all sorts of backgrounds, from men to women, ogryns to psykers, from rich to poor and everything in between, truly, the equal opportunity employer of 40K.

Actually, you could argue that the Sisters of Battle are better, from a lore POV, than the Space Marines because, unlike the beakies, the chicks don't turn traitor at every chance they get. There has been only one sister that turned traitor, Miriael Sabathiel. Compared that to the list of Chaos marine warbands.

In case people are wondering where the Templin Institute drama came from it, it started with him making some dumb tweets:

temp3.jpg
Obviously in the wrong, and they followed it up with a challenge:
temp4.jpg

However his courage quickly failed him when several Warhammer lorelets, including one self described "gatekeeper" referred to here (who is admin for a facebook community group with roughly 26K member called "Warhammer 40k Heresyposting", it's a casual a shitposting group that encourages gatekeeping), challenged him to a debate, live on his channel. His response was very telling:
temp2.jpg

Basically immediately backed down and refused to engage with anyone in debate over this, preferring to just created videos in his echo chamber. People called him out on this:
temp5.jpg

It seems he doesn't want to debate after all, or rather he does but not if someone is mean to him. It's a classic passive aggressive deflection where you refuses to discuss your position with another human because they might say "duh hate speeches!".
temp6.jpg
Just before his video dropped, he posted this to his discord
temp8.jpg
After losing thousands of subs with the video's release, getting his shit take video downvoted to oblivion, he did backpedal slightly:
temp7.jpg
As someone who was completely unfamiliar with this guy beforehand, all I can say is that he comes across to me as a total pussy, willing say shit about a franchise he doesn't understand that well, and then retreats to his hugbox when people challenge him over it citing 'hate speech" as the reason he won't debate anyone about it.
I found this completely embarrassing behavior, hopefully he loses more subs and relevancy with people seeing what a cowardly buffoon he is. But he has his huge fanbase and I doubt most of them give a shit about WH40K and instead just wanna clap with a creator that says whatever makes them feel good. I will always be of the opinion that people who want fem marines are amazon mom-dom fetishists. The lore doesn't support it, only their coomerbrain fantasies do. When his fans even give him some backlash and the video does poorly, of course he reverses and says "w-well i don't ACTUALLY like fem marines guys!".
Another gem:

What a fag that guy is. There's already way too many lore channels, with people reading from a Wiki over dramatic music. Add pozzed talking points and insufferable smugness towards anyone who challenges your head canon and you have a wonderful example of why gatekeeping is so important in any and all hobbies.

I really hate culture war shit but this is the perfect example why it's necessary; current year wokies really do fucking ruin everything. Look at Battletech...
