Has anyone ever noticed how weirdly defensive tau fans are? When you give the tau any amount of shit about lore or anything they seem to come out of the woodwork to defend the taus to the death
I wish they would have went with the confederated Tau army idea, with the Tau making up most of the army and minor alien races making up the rest. A slightly more fleshed out Dogs of War idea. The dropped human Auxiliary unit was a promising thing.

All the parts for my kitbash techmarine arrived and I'm putting him together.
The harness has been the most frustrating part to put together.
I've had to use super glue to stick it to the back (resorted to using the techmarine gunner back torso) and I still had to make sure the damn thing was level. In hindsight, I'm now realizing I could have magnetized it and things could have simpler.
I'm letting the glue dry overnight, but he'll be ready to go once I put the arms and head on.

If it's superglue, you can snap the pack off using a flat chisel. Then get your magnets.
Unless you used contacta or PS welding, which dissolves plastic to create a bond, in which case you might be boned.

Eh, I've got it figured out. I'll attach everything else tomorrow then take a picture before priming it.

9th edition 40k has the best codex covers that Games Workshop has ever done. Every single one of them captures the theme of their faction and the art style has a layer of Blanchitsu grime that blends well with the modern 40k aesthetic.
While most of them have been great, I kinda don't like the Orks one - something about the way they rendered the orks seems off to me.

The rest are pretty rad, though.

I'd also like Dorn to come back, but I want him to be drastically changed in his absence.

Not just a big ol' powerfist to replace his missing hand, I'm thinking more like a Primarch in a giant Dreadnought.
I disagree.

That would be awesome, but people might be motivated to buy infantry, kitbash, and reuse models from other races for their army, and GW needs everyone coming up with spare kidneys to buy battlesuits. I mean, you can already swap some flags around on shit and declare your IG army to be Gue'vesa just using the basic IG rules and have it make sense lore-wise. GW execs can't justify massive bonuses if people are allowed to use IG models with regularity in Tau lists.

I recently bought the new Skaven book, and it makes an unforced lore snafu that illustrates that the writer doesn't know what a Chaos God is and clearly doesnt have an interest in the race he's about. In the book, it states that Skaven go to an afterlife in Shyish when they die, instead of going to the Realm of Chaos to be tormented. The Great Horned Rat exists in the Realm of Chaos, after all, and is a creature made of the subconscious emotions of mortals, unlike Sigmar or Nagash. By this logic, followers of other Chaos Gods avoid the Realm of Chaos too, which also means Nagash shouldn't have a serious beef with the Chaos Gods. I don't know if this is a (terrible) retcon or an act of ignorance.

Hm, so I got a question. I got like a converted Imperial Sentinel and Lemun Russ tank (by orks naturally), would they work as like a Deff Dread and Battlewagon or would I need to use the actual Sentinel, Lemun Russ stats?

You can play them as a Deff Dread and a Battlewagon no problems. As long as the looted Sentinel is on a base the right size and sports enough limbs you can probably make it work on a tournament too. In most casual settings people probably won't complain about the wrong base either.

One way to bring Dorn back would be on a leash or in a cage, being led by Undivided Perturabo...only to see Valrak have a meltdown.
I'm surprised none of the Primarchs didn't end up in a Dreadnought. Dorn or Ferrus Manus being the obvious candidates, I guess? Something like a Knight sized Superdread with stupid amounts of dakka.

Edit:

Man, You almost never hear about the Iron Hands, do you? Just about every 1st founding chapter gets on my radar from time to time, but Iron Hands I keep forgetting they even exist. I guess Raven Guard and White Scars, too -- I mean, I at least get the Scar's hook (mongol bikers), but, yeah.

Maybe as special battle armour, not a regular feature, could see it yet with the way they've been portrayed, may have been seen a bit of step down as Primarchs have been capable of throwing dreads around.

Another thing for me at least on that idea, is head cannon version of what happened to the 2nd and 11th as a sense of one went too far with integrating A.I and the other too involved with xenos. (edit) This could be a thing about not getting too far into the super-suit concept as Knights/Titans have the mindlink element involved in their operations. (end edit)

Agree on lack of showing for some of the first founding, may see some more of that once HH series is finished as it is a bit of a way to redefine the character of each legion and give them a new audience. Basing that on how Wraight's Scars related work has given them a greater spotlight, over the Space Marine Battle series against the Tau that went effectively nowhere.

So, Im planning of making a small Felinid squad (ordered 3rd party feline heads/tails), but does anyone have any good reccomindations for what paints work for coloring fur? I know the contrast gore fur seems good, but are there any more options to work with?

I mean, Ferrus got decapitated. Primarchs are unreasonably durable, sure (see also: Guilliman surviving in near-vacuum for ten hours, Magnus walking off a broken back, Horus not popping like a zit from the Chaos gods mainlining him with warp mojo, the Khan's fight with Mortarion in  Warhawk), but getting your head cut off is pretty much all she wrote unless you're Vulkan or a daemon prince or something like that.

For any of you that CONSOOOOOMED a yearly sub to warhammer plus. Just thought Id let you know that your model is up to order. You need to go to the GW website and ship it yourself tho.

It might not be a retcon because Skaven do not follow the same path as a Slave to Darkness would. They don’t choose to offer their soul to a Chaos God; Skaven are more like a Lovecraftian servant race to the Great Horned Rat.

It’s also possible that the Great Horned Rat doesn’t give a shit about the souls of the Skaven. He is empowered by their ruinous schemes in the mortal world. Failure means they are weak and and not worthy to be hoarded by their God.

Or it is a scheme by the Great Horned Rat to have a Skaven underworld so his children can continue to cause havoc in the afterlife.

Here's my kitbashed Black Templar Techmarine:

Skaven are such an innately Chaotic race, it feels wrong that they'd be spared the Realm of Chaos. I guess Beastmen and Dragon Ogres go to Shyish too.

Played a game with the new CSM dex againsit my buddies Admech. Dprince with nurgle weapon is broken, I just know that G'hollax is going to get errata'd so that princes and disco lords can't take it, I feel it in my bones.

From playing with many paint brands I think they're all about equal for what you want to do, it's going to come down to how you render the model. Tiny brush to highlight fur texture would help.

Tis just a flesh wound. Besides, Fulgrim is being an ultra creep about bringing Ferrus back.
