The Imperium pre-Horus Heresy was a silver age for humanity, an authoritarian, but rational empire where much of the technology that was lost in the Age of Strife, when old humanity fell apart, was regained. Basically it was humanity's renaissance after a decisively painful dark age.

What I meant was "What the fuck did the Brides of the Emperor see/hear in front of the Golden Throne before switching sides? "

Oh... probably the same stuff considering the fragments of Big E's soul flying about and the like; the man with the most evil name did lead the same Imperial cult after all. I thought you meant before life support.

Paint? Nobody paints. Everybody just base coats black and then dry brushes over it.
I wondered where I'd been going wrong.

Ultramarines, that's where you're going wrong.

You're welcome.

Everybody else completely unimpressed by the updated waagh supplement?
It was a dissapointing update of a dissapointing suppliment, i shall continue to play orks in apocalypse though because at least Forgeworld loves 'em.

Gonna dodge @Caddchef and his Ultramarine bashing for now. He's just jealous because he has to paint fifteen or twenty minis to get the same point value as one of my Auxilas.

Bust seriously did it arrive in one piece because if so that's a bloody miracle.

I thought most places at least told people to wrap or box packages before sending. Must have been sent a private courier but still!

Its USPS, all they had to do was slap a label on it.

Kudos. Great paint job.

Ya see, this is what I both love & hate about the WH40K models. Beautiful sculpting and design, but how the fuck did you paint individual medals on a dude who's an inch and change high?
000 Brush and a shit load of patience and breath holding. I also find that sticking my tongue out helps...

I thought you guys would enjoy seeing an aborted project of mine-with the imminent cancellation of the bretonnian line my IG roughrider regiment would cost £1000 to buy the parts needed. I am not going to spend that in one purchase and i suspect sourcing the parts on ebay over the next 8 months (the time i planned to do the army in) will be more hassle than its worth. In anycase here is what might have become the 49th Ossian Household Dragoon Regiment had GW held out for a year on the old knights. they include two squads of dismounted 'retainers'. My plan for the army was 3 cad dets of 1 Lord Commisar -20 vets and 30 rough riders each.
