I just give a shit if it's more like the first one. I did not like II all that much.

@LazarusOwenhart

Regarding your Ultramar Auxilia army, the 2nd edition Ultra codex states they're apparently competent to follow the Smurfs to battle outside of Ultramar. Perhaps a more Veteran-heavy IG army? As for tactics, I'd imagine they'd be the first on the field, trying to establish positions and hold territory.

Looks like Militarum Tempestus might be what you're looking for.

They'll be veteran heavy, all 3 infantry troops in my list are veteran. I'll also be running some veteran armour. They'll have ultramarine allies but they'll form the bulk of the army.

Make use of the commissars (with ultramarine stand-in model of course) to make gratuitous use of the orders system and shit all over your opponent with your fearless vets.

The 1 squad of space marines I'm taking has an anniversary marine in it with his combi dis-integrator and his disintegration pistol. I'm using an ultramarine HQ and a mixture of space marine and imperial guard tanks. (Baneblade baby!) and I'm condisdering (for my big ass high point weekend game army) adding Mechanicus, inquisition and an imperial Knight into the mix for a true imperial army that I can mix and match as I please.

Sweet, I looked at the rules when I seriously planned to DM a game. I still have a decent amount of the material for it too. Also have some supplements for it in .pdf form.

I also played a session or two: fun game that has really decisive combat.

I plan to run it after I finish Pathfinder for my IRL group. Should be fun.

MY FUCKING DICK JUST EXPLODED.

Seriously. Very happy about this. Thought it died when THQ went under.

Why would it die, Relic got bought by Sega, which is also the owner of CA who is making the WFB game. Plus Relic ain't exactly doing poorly for themselves, COH2 is the most popular non-MOBA RTS on steam right now, and is still pulling in big bucks.

Judging by how CoH2 went after DOW2, and some of the chatter, I'm definantly thinking we'll see a return to large scale. COH2 reaffirmed to them that nothing is better than a brutal, no man's land hell of a meat grinder of dozens of units slamming into each other.

If it's online, I'd happily fuck up and die in it... though I wasn't that terrible as an Arbite the last time I played.
Well, it's for my IRL group but I may be looking to be up someone over skype to fill out the group.

As the last thing I managed died because coralling 7 Kiwis into one game is a bloody nightmare, I'm thinking of just running a Gorkoamora campaign here. It's a skirmish level game mostly geared for 1v1, so we'd need to take some liberties for expediencies sake, such as declaring your whole shooting phase at once, but it could be doable.

So i just got Dawn Of War 1 and im enjoying it so far,I love the lore and the feeling of the game.

Always enjoyed I more than II, since II was very denuded as a strategy game and very grindy when it came to bosses. It's why I hope III is more like I.

If 1 is like 3 then i will totally get it.I wonder what kind of expansion will be put into DOW 3?

Well it's Sega now so fuckloads of content that should have been in the main game probably.

I'll sadly take that over the DoW1 method of "2 new factions and some exrtra maps are out, time to buy the entire game over again!"

That was complete bullshit back in the day. Expansion level content at retail level price.

Nothing ever beats cyanide though. BB1 was a complete cluterfuck of every "expansion" being mutually exclusive and the full $50 price, but hey, here's a $5 coupon for being a "loyal" customer.
