Honestly for marines in general just don't do a first founding chapter, or a chapter that is well known. It gives you more flexibility in playstyle if you're dealing with fags who get mad if you wanna play your ultramarines as salamanders.
I feel you but I've still had a whiny faggot bitch that my custom scheme guys aren't painted as Salamanders. Guy was probably retarded though, he was using his blue Admech as Mars whilst bitching.

Was it because of that weird "successor chapter" rule in the previous edition that meant the way you paint your marines actually does affect the rules for them? Because that was a really dumb idea. Like if you had blue Salamanders they would have to pay an extra CP to take green Salamander relics and shit.

There is a rule in the 9th space marine codex called inheritors of the primarch which allows your successor chapter to take a first founding chapter tactic instead of two from the successor tactics.
I'm not sure about 10th's rule though.

Yeah that's the one. Tenth doesn't have any of that nonsense.

Conspiracy theory was that GW just wanted to make players buy even more minis and have multiple SM armies.
Aside from the fact literally everything GW has ever done is to basically try and make you buy more models, there's basically no other reasonable explanation for how we went from:

To: paint and model your dudes the exact way we say or else

I honestly don't understand why GW doesn't just release more minis so more people can actually build basic armies. They can keep charging exorbitant prices for things like Custodes, Knighs, and legends (like Primarchs and wat not) but having to shell out 300 bucks for a force of basic bitch imperial guardsmen is a pretty big ask for getting new people to actually play the tabletop. Its alot like that XKCD game learning curve sketch.

I'm surprised they haven't entered the 3d printing market instead of just constantly sending out trademark claims against file hosting websites. They could license a cheap resin printer from Creality and have it branded as Citadel and charge 4x for it. Do the same with resin, and release your files under some kind of subscription service. People already 3d printing won't give a shit about it but a bunch of people that don't know better and want to save money will buy in enough to make it profitable.

Mostly underwhelmed by the NOVA previews, given that all they showed us are replacements for the squatted Firstborn kits/multipart versions of the Leviathan Marines. I'm also questioning why they decided to update the Mark III kit when the current one is perfectly serviceable and we still don't have plastic Mark II. That said, the plastic Deredeo is a welcome if unsurprising reveal, and holy shit Daemon Fulgrim looks pretty badass.

I've lived long enough to see a plastic resin Fulgrim kit.
Maybe I will get to see the aspect warriors and phoenix lords renewed.

e: damn

The nova previews were alright for the most part. I like the chaplain in terminator armour, but wish he had a little more style like the old one did. The assault intercessors with jump packs are meh at best. They really do like giving the primaris marines as little choice in gear as possible. The old assault marines could take 2 plasma pistols even with just five of them, or replace them with flamers. The eviscerator was also a fun option to take, sad to see it go.

I just like it for the lore and some spooky bugs and silly green gitz.
It's fun lore! I love everything about 40K EXCEPT for the table top part of it.

Some one even made a AI Voice Generated David Attenborough 40K lore channel that is pretty good. Writing is on point with the script sounding just like watching Our Planet on Netflix.

I'm watching the Adeptus Podcastus and they brought one of the guys from the Alfabusa crew and started a several minute rant about Warhammer+, and it's just annoying how it's been two fucking years, nothing from what they said will happen has happened. It's just as bad as the people still bitchin about Primaris 7 years later. It gets worse when they blame people buying into the service as being right wing trolls who want to gatekeep by means of paying (first time I ever heard of it, and completely devoid of logic). And of course it's all headed by the tranny while 40k theories is dead silent, thinking how he got to this point.
