In an attempt to drive the thread back towards 40k and away from… whatever this is 🤷‍♂️

I just bought some Thousand Sons 😊

2 boxes of marines, 3 boxes of terminators, a pack of exalted sorcerers, Ahriman, a leviathan siege dreadnought, a contemptor dreadnought and that weird ass vortex beast.

I am going to have a LOT of painting to do.
I would like to see Primaris Thousand Sons.

I'll say this, 3rd party heads for the Thousand Sons seem much cooler than the GW ones.

Thankfully I’ve got hundreds and hundreds of different heads in my STL collection, so I’ll probably print a few weird ones to make sure there is as much variety as possible.
Ya know, I gotta ask when it comes to 3D printer stuff, how much do those cartridges cost and how much use can you get from 'em?

Ok, first off they don’t use cartridges 🙂 There are two kinds, FDM and resin. FDM uses plastic filament to print, resin uses UV light to cure the object into an inverted print bed.

For models with high detail FDM isn’t viable, the layers aren’t fine enough. FDM is good for large things like Titans or terrain, things that are large enough to be sanded and finished enough to hide the layer lines.

Resin, once painted especially, looks identical to a GW miniature.

It’s around $30 per liter of resin. If we were talking space marine sized you could probably get 150-200 or so out of a liter. It would all depend on if you’re printing them in 1 piece or in multiple pieces to assemble later on. The more pieces, the more supports needed, the more resin wasted printing the supports that you’re just gonna throw away when you’re done.

The program you use to prep the files for print shows you how much resin your print will take and how much that costs you.

For a larger model like a Rhino I’d print it solid, instead of a hollow model or a kit, and that would cost me around $4-5.

Hmmm...Okay, so what would be the good UV Light resin ones? Say if my budget is like around 200-300 euro

Have you decided on a paint scheme because a candy blue with gold would look pretty good imo. You could even go pre Heresy scheme with a candy red and white accents for the trim.

I'm pretty sure only the Rubrics were turned into dust zombies and the Sorcerers and maybe specialists are still marines.
Okay that's makes sense. It's basically an ongoing living warband that employs a lot of power armored automatons.

If by "a lot" you mean everyone who wasn't a psyker. Its about a 10:1 ratio of automaton to actual person.

A Primaris CSM would have to have turned traitor. They don't have the tech to make them (bizarre experiments notwithstanding) and there's some lore indications they consider Cawl's work to be a much greater abomination than anything they've done.

I just wish GW would give me back the 24" Multi-melta on my Retributor squads

So, excluding the seething furfag over the past few pages, anyone got an opinion on Big E nearly becoming the fifth Chaos god in the End and the Death Part II?
What kind of Chaos God would Big E be? Did they hint at it?

Apparently the god he would have become was titled "The Dark King" and his birth would have done to humanity what the birth of Slaneesh did to the Eldar. Namely, wipe them out. I imagine based on the name it would be something like the Chaos god of Tyranny or something similar. In the book Big E stops this after speaking to Ol Persson / Olannius Pious (the oldest known perpetual). He then casts all of his compassion and love from his soul into the Warp in order to gain the power to kill Horus.

I imagine based off this, this is why the Emperor was so cold to Guilliman when they met at the start of the Dark Imperium trilogy.

*SPECULATION*
This means there is now two Emperors, the cold caluclating Throne Emperor that powers the Astronomicon and has grown powerful from being fed 1000 psykers every day. Then the warp emperor which is the love and hope which he broke off from his soul who is the one performing miracles birthing imperial saints etc who is also gaining power from being worshipped in the warp.

Also, since the Emperor rejected the status of Chaos god it is mentioned when Erebus speaks to Abbadon that the Chaos gods had singled him out for a great fate so it's theorised that Abaddon will become the Dark King in 40k instead.

He would have become the Dark King. He believed that he could only defeat Horus by taking on more of the Warp. However, that would result in him becoming a god and he would no longer be human, so no restrain in using his abilities. Humanity would die and Chaos would win.

On how he did not become a god: Oll Persson, Leetu, John Grammaticus, and Garviel Loken would be able to reach the Emperor and convince him to think of another plan. They convince the Emperor to utilize something else rather than the power of the Warp to defeat Horus. We don’t know what the Emperor is going to do to defeat Horus but my guess is that the Emperor will give up himself. He will die, giving up his desire to guide humanity to ensure that humanity has a future.

That's... actually pretty awesome. Here's hoping we get the return of the OG Ollannius Pius. I know Oll Persson isn't just some random schlub, but considering how well-written he's been in the past I've got high hopes of a return to form of the best part of 40k: random dudes defying the end of all things simply because they must.

I would like to see Primaris Thousand Sons.
We should've seen some Chaos Primaris by now. It's been some time ever since they were unveiled; some of them should've turned to Chaos by now. If anything, just imagine the modern Primaris models mixed with the Chaos Marines' traditional death metal aesthetic. That would look really cool.

I don't know why the CSM would consider Cawl's work an abomination. If anything they should be hitting their heads on the table for not coming up with something like the Primaris.

Considering the events of Genefather
Fabius Bile stealing the geneseed from Alpha Primus (first primaris) at the behest of Abaddon, CSM Primaris are 100% going to be a thing
